Though I'm sure Samsung would say this ad is just for LOLz and not meant to be sexist in any way, Childs' vacant eyes, super girly styling and pose, and open-mouthed blowup doll facial expression say otherwise. With all of the "smart" technology out there, is this really the best they could do?"

Uhm,.....well,....I just looked this chick up,......and any women who wants to treat THIS, uhm,...."person" as representative of "women",.....well, I think the problem starts there, if there is one. ( the camera may well ACTUALLY be smarter, and more competent, than she is. ) But what the heck,.....if someone WANTS to treat her as a representative icon, or role model, or whatever,.....well, knock yourselves out, I suppose.

I understand that not every actress needs to be a role model and not every advertisement has to be empowering. But this one is an instant classic!

The problem is, it's simply not funny enough to cross over from sexism to satire!

The Question: Is It Sexist?
I say yes. It reinforces an old stereotype that women are stupid and suck at technology. Remember when Dell tried to appeal to women? {http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2347769,00.asp} That went well.
Plus, the pose a classic {http://current.com/community/93742706_the-codes-of-gender.htm} "as well as the other submissive positions, the bashful knee bend projects a sense of the woman as ungrounded ... the posture has also been sexualized in the process ...equating sexuality with submission." ETC.
Also classic, her face. Compare to the image, one of my favorite sexist ads.
Hey, did you hear, there's a gender gap in the sciences! Whatta mystery!
