You know, the thing about the Mayan calendar makes sense. They were star gazers, and had a calendar that tracked the moon that's only a off by a couple of minutes to this day. They didn't even have clocks back then.
Perhaps the cycle that ended in December was a long-count solar cycle, and then it repeats every so many cycles.
With all that's yet to be discovered about our universe, and even the currents beyond our solar system, who's to say that our solar-system, or even our galaxy goes through cycles, all of which have an effect on our solar system, the sun, and even the Earth."No man is an island, Entire of itself..." -John Donne

I received this letter from Credo in my email. I'm going to try to forward part of what it says and hope this link works, and that you all will use it.
Friends,
I immediately added my name to this open letter to President Obama calling for bold climate action, and I hope you will too.
President Obama is one piece of the puzzle when it comes to tackling climate change, but he's a very important piece. This letter lays out exactly the kind of leadership we need from him in the coming 4 years. It calls for a rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline (the first and maybe simplest test of his seriousness on climate), a strong carbon rule that would address pollution from existing coal plants, and a number of other things which will need his attention right away.

Thanks, and a Hello to you as well! Sometimes I think too much, but I do know mankind is extremely arrogant and if we can't see that the biggest object in our solar system (Sun) and the most influential of all objects in that system, then I wonder why people can't accept that the Sun may have a connection to global warming as well as man!

Keep in mind the Maunder Minimum from 1650 to 1700 was a major contributor to the last mini Ice Age. And to all those who have shut out knowledge whatever form it comes in, Up Yours!

Wikipedia will tell you that the Little Ice Age spanned from AD 1250-1900.
But I learned this from a great book everyone should read - 'Plows, Plagues & Petroleum: How Humans Took Control of Climate' by William F. Ruddiman (Princeton 2005). Ruddiman was University of Virginia's top climatologist for many years. - 4 months ago

No problem, sometimes I get the feeling any observations other then man made global warming stuff get attacked immediately without review. I totally agree man has something to do with it, and at the very least cleaning up our act on fossil fuels would benefit us all in so many ways. We should also try to understand our electric universe, in the long run harvesting the energy that is all around us would be non polluting.

I must admit that I have long suspected that HAARP is playing a role in the rapid acceleration of global warming. Also microwaves from GPS, cellphones and satellite TV.
But I have yet to see any solid science on this.
I have, however, seen plenty of science disproving solar activity has any effect on current climate change.
Again, sorry I'm such a bitch on this subject. I just feel that science is under attack from both the left and the right.

I have a problem with the Star Wars presentation. It's not only difficult to read but I don't get the gist. And the music is enough to make me take 3 aspirin.
NASA has a lot better vids but I can't look them up right now because I have a headache.

You're right. Any opposing idea, other than CO2 causality immediately gets attacked. ...and then they say you're in league with "big oil", which is ridiculous.
For those of us who use common-sense, read history, understand math, paid attention in science class, or hold a degree in science; when someone says that the vastly intertwined, and interconnected complex machine that is our planet is beginning to see changes in climate and all "scientists" can find for the cause is one molecule in slightly larger trace amounts (which so happens to come from cars), you start to laugh a little.
You laugh because you know that science doesn't always have the answers right away.
Look at how much we've discovered in the past 100 years, then compare that to what was disproved 50 years later, and then what was disproved 20 years after that, etc, etc.
Science is constantly evolving, and is never settled.Thoughts to ponder:
Some people thought that they were the center of the universe.
Long ago many believed the Earth to be the center of the universe, and that the Sun and Moon were things in the sky.
Galileo (and Newton) proved that the Sun was the center of solar system.
Later on it was discovered that the solar system rotates a galaxy, with a black hole at it's center.
They have yet to find the starting point of the universe, but have discovered that Everything in the universe is accelerating away from everything else.
Because there is no definite center of the universe, and it's borders are unfathomable, then any point or every point could be the center of the universe.
Quantum physics suggests that the universe would not, and could not exist with out someone to observe it. -Else all molecules are just potentials and variables until they are observed.
Ergo, you(the observer) are the center of the universe. - 4 months ago
