Ladybag tells you if you forgot something
Ladybag is a smart bag that uses RFID technology to make sure you don't leave the house with out those three staple items: keys, mobile, and wallet.
The bag illuminates when you are missing an item and the smiley face light up when you are ready to go.
Now does this fit inside a purse? It has to, cuz as cool as the technology is, it's not super cute to carry. I mean, what would you wear it with? Ladybag is a smart bag that uses RFID technology to make sure you don't leave the house with out those three staple items: keys, mobil... more -
And I don't even like Gucci
But I love this bag. It's the perfect winter-to-spring print.

Can't resist Chloe
It's been months since I've seen a handbag I loved enough to put in the "to die for" category, but this clutch from Chloe pushes all my buttons. It's been months since I've seen a handbag I loved enough to put in the "to die for" category, but this clutch from Chloe pushes all m... more

Mac Bag - better than a manila envelope
Can't afford the MacBook Air? Don't fret. Now you can get this sweet new bag and look like you own one and still be down with all the cool kids.
This bag from Studio Leung is still in its concept phase right now, but it is made of waxed cotton (and is therefore water resistant), and comes with a felt lining for added protection.

Very effective ad campaign for People in Need
A Dutch charity organisation, Cordaid Mensen in Nood (People in Need) has this interesting campaign. It shows people in need posing with what some of us consider important and necessary. The designer handbag which costs 32 euro is being compared to the price of food for a week: 4 euro. Sunglasses cost 24 euro while access to water is 8 euro, after shave is 35 euro, and the basics for a new home only cost 6.50 euro. Cute Recycled Handbag
Since I'm apparently turning into a purse-carrying sort of girl, I've discovered all sorts of cute new stuff. Including this bag--I'm oddly drawn to it, plus it's made from recycled candy wrappers! How great is that?
I'm oddly fascinated by all of the ones on the site--if I'm going to succumb to the purse carrying madness, I might as well be environmentally friendly about it, right? So many to choose from
I am in the position of making my fall handbag purchase. You know the one. You wait and wait until all the good new stuff is out, and then you decide where to spend your hard-earned cash.
This one just showed up on one of the blogs I frequent. Man, oh, man. This will be hard to beat. Brown, glazed snakeskin. I am in the position of making my fall handbag purchase. You know the one. You wait and wait until all the good new stuff is out, and ... more -
If it only wasn't so GOLD
Hating the VERY GOLD hardware, but loving the covered buttons on the outside pocket. I feel like this would be classic for years, but for $800, I'm not going to get over my gold squick. Target and Devi Kroell kind rock
Okay. So I'm WAY behind on this. Several months ago, Target partnered with bag designer Devi Kroell, who is known for her python handbags. Her bags for Target are fake, of course, and when I saw them on various blogs, I was sort of interested but not dying to own one.
Anyway. I had to go to LA this week, and needed something to use as an overnight bag. I also had to buy a lot of liquids in tiny no-greater-than-3oz. bottles. But that's another story.
This gigantic silver tote was marked down to $34 from it's original $49, and I snatched it up. It was PERFECT for my trip. Held tiny toiletries, an outfit for the next day, and a big pile of press kits for my meetings. The best part? Lots of people told me how much they loved it. And that's the ultimate ego boost!
If you think you might want it, hurry fast. They're on clearance, and sure to go quickly. Okay. So I'm WAY behind on this. Several months ago, Target partnered with bag designer Devi Kroell, who is known for her python handb... more -
Do knockoffs help Designers?
Ahh, the piracy paradox: For the industry to keep growing, customers must like this years designs, but they must also become dissatisfied with them, so that theyll buy next years. In fashion, knockoffs enable designs and styles to move quickly from early adopters to the masses.
Since no one cool wants to keep wearing something after everybody else is wearing it, the copying of designs helps fuel the incessant demand for something new. Shiny shiny
I'm going back and forth on this tote. Is it TOO shiny? Is it just right? I think I'd have to see it in person to know, and I'm not sure it's something I could carry every day. I wouldn't die for it, but...
I have been in desperate need of a new tote bag to carry all the crap I haul around with me during my daily commute. (About 35 minutes each way on BART, and another 10-15 minutes on MUNI. With lunch and books and sometimes extra shoes and my Treo and my cosmetic bag and etc.) I have a friend who is a die-hard fan of le Sportsac, and a link in her blog got me to thinking. These bags are moderately priced. Are made from commuter-friendly nylon. Come in a variety of super-cute paterns. And have oodles of pockets. So I bought one. This one from the picture, in fact. And UPS says it will be delivered to me at work today! While it doesn't make me feel giddy to know I'll soon own it, I'm feeling pretty good about my deciison. I'll let you know how it goes.
