Sea No Evil art show benefit
We are excited to announce, this year the art show will be held at the prestigious Riverside Art Museum in the historical downtown area of Riverside CA.
On the night of July 12th, 2008, the art show will completely take over the entire art museum, 3 floors, including special guests Matt Costa playing music on the roof (3rd floor) and Shepherd Fairey spinning records. The first two floors will display donated art from noted artists, available for purchase through silent auction bidding the night of the show.
It promises to be an event to remember giving the opportunity to raise increased awareness and funding for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Captain Paul Watson, founder of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, will be the featured speaker, giving an update on what is happening globally with oceanic conservation.

Is This The End Of Shepard Fairey?
"This past Friday, ANIMAL reported that Shepard Fairey could be legally blind by the end of the year from complications due to diabetes according to a very well placed source—who refuses to back down from their story. Reached by phone yesterday, Shepard Fairey vehemently denied that he’s losing his vision, but did openly admit to having lots of past vision problems, even as recent as last June, right around the time he was readying his “E Pluribus Venom” exhibit at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, “[W]hen I was in NY last summer for my show at Jonathan’s, I just had a bleed in my right eye and the whole time I was working on that show I only had partial vision in my right eye. But, I was still able to work, I could still paint and cut, and do what I need to do,” said Fairey. The show, which featured over 150 pieces, all sold out according to LeVine."

Plagiarists Plagiarizing Plagiarists ?
Shepard Fairey (better known for his OBEY posters, if you are not familiar with, you need to step out of your time capsule and smell the flowers, bud) is one of my favorite graphic artists. Found throughout many blogs/feeds sites including your local FecalFace, this controversy of this design is interesting to the graphic and arts community.

You're such Beautiful Losers
It's the last day of the film festival here in SXSW :(. But don't despair, it's ok, the music festival starts today, hurray! I've been seeing some great films, including Aaron Rose and Joshua Leonard's film, Beautiful Losers. If you're a fan of graffiti and crazy graphic art, this is the right film for you as it follows the rise of a group of artists inspired by the subcultures in their town.
It's worth watching just to see Harmony Korine scare some children with stories of severed heads!

15' tall Obama mural in Houston, Texas (documented by PR!MO)
Some local street artists painted a 15' Obama mural designed by Shepard Fairey (ObeyGiant) in Houston Texas. I documented the painting from beginning to end... using 1 camera for time-lapse and another one for the interview during the process. I also photographed the process as-well.
