FetchDog.Com: Play, Lick, Sleep, Sniff, Eat
Fetch Dog is every dog owner's dream website - because it was the only one built for dog owners and lovers when there was no other decent place to go!
FetchDog was invented after people got fed up with the lack of websites specifically designed for puppy parents to shop, chat or connect with canine professionals!
FetchDog.Com makers write in their 'About' section: We wanted products that were sturdy, practical, yet beautiful to look at, not stuff that looked like it belonged in Dad's den or the garage. We wanted thoughtfully-designed items that would complement our tastes and lifestyle. And we wanted our dogs to enjoy naturally healthy food, treats, and health care products free of chemicals and byproducts. Most of all, we wanted all these things in one convenient place so we could spend less time shopping and more time with our best friends. Dog swept up, killed by NYC street sweeping truck
Dog swept up, killed by NYC street sweeping truck
5 hours ago
NEW YORK (AP) — A street-sweeping truck roaring down a Bronx street sucked up a dog and killed her as her owner held the leash.
Robert Machin said he had just finished walking his two Boston terriers and was about to put them into his car when the truck appeared Thursday morning. The retired transit worker said he was suddenly whipped around and saw one of the dogs, Ginger, being swallowed by the sweeper's round bristles.
"I went berserk at that moment because I couldn't believe what had occurred," he said Saturday.
Machin said he yelled at the driver to stop, but the truck kept going. He and friends chased the truck for 2 1/2 blocks before catching up with it. Ginger's slight body was later pulled from the sweeper.
The city Department of Sanitation called the death "a rare and unfortunate accident."
A heartbroken Machin questioned whether the driver was observing proper procedures, saying the truck seemed to barreling through the street at an unsafe speed.
The heartbroken Machin, 57, choked up as he described losing Ginger. With his children grown, he said, "These two dogs, they're my life."

Black pets need love too
A promotion by the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter to boost the adoption of black-coated dogs and cats has drawn criticism for being racially insensitive.
The shelter has halted its "Black is Beautiful" Week after the president of the Austin chapter of the NAACP raised concerns in the media. They had planned to reduce adoption fees for black-coated animals to $25 for a week. The normal fee for adoption is $85.
Nelson Linder, president of the Austin NAACP, said it was a "violation" to use "Black is Beautiful" as a promotion for an animal shelter and that the shelter was right to halt the promotion. The phrase became popular during the 1960s civil rights movement as a way to promote equality and African American self-esteem.
Black-coated animals do not get adopted as quickly as other animals. Either out of superstition or fear that they might be a more aggressive dog, they tend to be underadopted.
The shelter has 12 black adult cats available for adoption out of about 25 and that about half of the shelter's dogs are black. Two of those dogs have been at the shelter for two months. The average stay for animals is about 11 days. The shelter does euthanize animals based on factors such as space and adoptability. When robots and pets collide
Think twice before leaving your Roomba at home with your dog--turns out pets and robots don't always mix.
Amazingly enough, some have even suggested owners get rid of pets that have territorial issues with robots. Okay guys, let's go over this again: machine made of metal parts vs. actual living creature. I don't care how lifelike robots get, pets are always going to trump machines in my book.

Jane Goodall Proposes Nobel Prize for Alternatives to Animal Experimentation
Goodall, whose pioneering work with chimpanzees in the wild changed the face of ethology, said that curtailing and eventually eliminating animal research is a "goal towards which all civilized nations should be moving."
"As we move into the 21st century we need a new mindset," she told attendees of a symposium organized by animal rights groups and political leaders in the European Union. "We should admit that the infliction of suffering on beings who are capable of feeling is ethically problematic and that the amazing human brain should set to work to find new ways of testing and experimenting that will not involve the use of live, sentient beings."
In the mid-90s, the Foundation rejected a suggestion from former Vice President (and recent Nobel Prize winner) Al Gore that an award be added for contributions to environmentalism. Just as Gore's recommendation would elevate the status of environmentalism in the global community, Goodall's proposal to encourage alternatives to animal experimentation would raise awareness of and appreciation for the animal protection movement and all that it stands for. Battered Puppy Needs a Loving Home - VIDEO
The little puppy has a hard start in life. Watching her scoot around, dragging her legs, is heartbreaking. Badly injured by suspected cruelty she was rescued, given the name Honey, and is now looking for a better life.
* Injuries suggest cruelty: Dragging her rear end around seems to quickly drain what energy she has. The vet who’s treating Honey says the nature of her injuries most likely point to cruelty. It's believed she was beaten with a bat or a stick. She has multiple fractures to her ribs and her spinal cord is injured. That's what limits her mobility when she tries to get around.
* Recovery looks good: Honey has a chance to recover. She is slowly regaining some movement in her back legs and the right home could help her immensely. “If she could go to a home with someone with a pool to exercise her that would be a good thing to not to have to fight gravity with her back legs."
To this point her whole life has been a fight and now she's just looking for a break.
If you can help Honey or another dog like her click on Petfinder or Mobile Animal Rescue.
