Google Earth used to organise 'Facebook dipping' parties
Would-be revellers are using satellite images on the internet to find houses with swimming pools - and then turning up uninvited for an impromptu dip. The craze involves using the Google Earth programme, which provides high-quality aerial photos of Britain and other countries.
Once a target is chosen, the organisers use social networking sites such as Facebook and Bebo to arrange to meet, say police. Officers said that residents have woken up to find youngsters 'dipping' in their back gardens, or have come home from work to a swimming pool full of beer cans.

Flavor Tripping
Flavor Tripping is an ongoing series of Bacchanalian food tasting smackdowns that occur about once a month, beginning in February ‘08 in NYC and SF. Our events are smallish affairs held in an undisclosed location - not (only) because we’re wanted international criminals, but because we dig switching things up and matching the spaces to the events we’re hosting. The first series of tastings center on miracle fruit (Sideroxylon dulcificum if you want to get all scientific about it), a cranberry-sized West African berry that that numbs your sour and bitter tastebuds for a couple of hours after eating it. That means that everything that used to taste sour now tastes sweet. What, me election worry?
I've got a Diebold voting machine at my house. Totally legal. The San Diego County Registrar of Voters gave it to me.
Makes you wonder, who else has these machines? How secure is this? Even, is this legal?
They have numerous seals and safeguards and such. It's also a felony to violate the rules. So, the system seems OK.
Still...If somebody wanted to do something, it doesn't seem that hard.
They swore us to uphold the Constitution. Thought that was implied. Suppose somebody just mouthed the words or crossed finger behind the back? How is the oath even binding?
So, when you're voting this Election Day, don't cry for me. I've got a touchscreen voting machine at my house. It's a party monster. I've got a Diebold voting machine at my house. Totally legal. The San Diego County Registrar of Voters gave it to me. ... more -

"Best house party ever"
It caused almost £10,000 of damage, involved 500 teenagers and required 30 police officers, a police helicopter and a police dog squad to break up.
Corey Delaney, 16, of Melbourne, Australia had what he called 'the best party ever' when his parents went on holiday last weekend.
Standing with bleached blond hair, yellow outsized sunglasses and a bare chest, Corey was interviewed by Nine Network television news following the raucous (I love this part - so Ferris Bueller) Asked what advice he had for other teenagers planning a home alone party, he said: "Get me to do it for you"
His parents have cut their holiday short and are on their way home. Corey has so far been ignoring their phonecalls and says he won't be in when they get home.
Ahh, takes you back doesn't it!
Everyone has a good house party story don't they? I had one when I was 16 - first someone put their head through a wall and then someone played baseball with tomatoes in my kitchen. My mum is still confused about why she finds tomato seeds on the ceiling every now and again. "Best party ever, that's what everyone's saying."
This new generation of drinker is a scary one. The kids discussed in this article were only 16 and 17 years old and attacked police. Granted, I've never been to Australia- but I'm betting the liquor is the same-- and no booze would have me throwing bottles "and other missiles" (!?!) at the cops. missiles- what??
Maybe with time, maybe.
