Eat out of a Toliet, for fun!
"Here’s a new dining concept for you: a toilet-themed restaurant.
Toilets for seats, mini-toilets for bowls, potty-themed menu listings. Appetizing, right?
Well, not only does this concept exist, but it’s so popular that it now has several locations in Taiwan and China."

Dances with Love
Exploring the issues of art and marriage in India, "In Her Own Footsteps" is the story of Sheeba, a beautiful and talented Indian dancer. Many female artists in India must stop performing after marriage if the husband decides against it. Eighty percent of Indian marriages are arranged, so a female artist may choose not to marry at all, but Sheeba was able to avoid this fate by marrying for love--against her parents wishes. Her husband Manish is a loving man from a different caste and religion who supports Sheeba in dance and in life. Ironically, Sheeba's mother, who taught her everything she knows, was not so lucky in her own marriage to Sheeba's tabla-playing father. Exploring the issues of art and marriage in India, "In Her Own Footsteps" is the story of Sheeba, a beautiful and talented I... more

Dubai Skyscraper With Rotating Floors
The Da Vinci Tower (also known as Dynamic Architecture Building) is a proposed 313 m (1,027 ft), 68-floor tower in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The tower is expected to be architecturally innovative for several reasons. Uniquely, each floor will be able to rotate independently. This will result in a constantly changing shape of the tower. Each floor will rotate a maximum of one full rotation in 90 minutes. The entire tower will be powered from turbines and solar panels, and five other buildings in the vicinity will also be provided with electricity. The turbines will be located between each of the rotating floors. They will generate 1,200,000 kilowatt-hours of energy from the movement of the floors, and the solar panels will be located on the roof. Construction of the Da Vinci Tower is expected to be completed in 2009. The Art Pack ~ Meets modern new people
A project envisaged and curated by Jean-François Sanz (head of cultural projects agnès b.)
Between the late 70s and mid-80s in France, a prolific and chaotic music scene that combined the energy of rock-n-roll, punk nihilism and electronic experimentation.
A kind of hope and frenzied vitality could also be detected during these years. A breed
of modernist utopia, which was sometimes wilfully ironic, fed them both. A whole segment of, they were nonetheless resistant to the post-Hippie utopias of the previous generation. In search of an identity, they recognised themselves in the dark lyrics, the
cold synthetic music and the laid-back attitude of the new groups hatching all over the country, as much in the provinces as in Paris.
With the benefit of thirty years’ hindsight, the “Mödern Young People” project reactivates this post-punk/novo diskö/French new & cold wave scene, through an exhibition, a book, an audio compilation, and a documentary film. One of the project’s ambitions is to highlight a cross-section of the specific creative diversity of this scene. It does so by engaging with the music produced by this scene, but also with the aesthetics and the attitudes.

Americans use energy equivalent of 100 slaves
The average American family has more slaves than most Egyptian pharaohs. I found these calculations astonishing! Check them out. Maybe we'll have to set a few slaves free with today's cost of energy. The future is now ... or at least a lot closer than you think
Ever wonder why we don't have flying cars yet, or why space travel isn't a daily occurrence for you or your friends? Well, because the future (the future we see in old movies; forget the exotic '2000' we live in) just hasn't gotten here yet.
BUT due to ridiculous advances in nanotechnology, processing speeds getting faster by the minute and the world's brightest minds being more interconnected than ever before... the future may be closer than you think.
“...if experts in neurology and artificial intelligence (or solar energy or medicine) don’t buy his optimistic predictions, he says, that’s because exponential upward curves are so deceptively gradual at first...'Scientists imagine they’ll keep working at the present pace...They make linear extrapolations from the past. When it took years to sequence the first 1 percent of the human genome, they worried they’d never finish, but they were right on schedule for an exponential curve. If you reach 1 percent and keep doubling your growth every year, you’ll hit 100 percent in just seven years."
Dr. Kurzweil is so confident in these curves that he has made a $10,000 bet with Mitch Kapor, the creator of Lotus software. By 2029, Dr. Kurzweil wagers, a computer will pass the Turing Test by carrying on a conversation that is indistinguishable from a human’s.

BROOKLYN, NY February 8th-9th - Brooklyn-based choreographers Kelly Bartnik and Gina Kohler come together to present blue a shared evening showcasing two newly developed dance works, featuring performances by Claire Benton, Donna Costello, Nicki Marshall and Sara Procopio.
Inspired by the music of Toshi Reagon, Bartnik's new work is a visual representation of the vivid imagery invoked by Reagon's lush musicality and deep spirited emotion. In collaboration with costume designer Kristin Machado and set designer Jack Blacketer, Kelly's new work, performed by Donna Costello, Gina Kohler & Nicki Marshall, invites the audience to traverse a landscape inhabited by three women, bound to a singular common location, as they embark on their personal journeys of self-reflection.
