Can you tell the Nativity story in 30 seconds?
A Christian group has launched a competition to tell the Christmas story in 30 seconds or less. Churches, youth groups and individuals can submit entries in the style of either radio adverts or YouTube videos.
The impetus for the campaign came from a poll last year suggesting only 12% of adults knew the details of the biblical Christmas story. Francis Goodwin, chairman of the network, said: "We hope youngsters will write, text, record, video, paint the Christmas story in under 30 seconds. This campaign and the competition will be a catalyst for churches to get involved all over the country. We hope they will use this to reach out to a new generation that often isn't being brought up with the message of hope embodied in the news of Jesus' birth at the heart of the Christmas story."
The network is offering a prize of £500 for the best entry. A Christian group has launched a competition to tell the Christmas story in 30 seconds or less. Churches, youth groups and individuals... more -

Net radio bill passes House
The House of Representatives has unanimously passed a bill that Web radio stations have painted as life or death for their services.
The Webcaster Settlement Act, which would allow Internet radio stations to negotiate with the music industry for a royalty rate lower than what Congress mandated last year, passed the House by a voice vote on Saturday. Lindsey finally admitted shes going out with sam!
Practically joined at the hip these days, and it's clear to the entire showbiz world that are crazy about each other, but neither girl has ever actually admitted that they're an item – until now. During an interview on a US radio show called Loveline The DJ – a guy named Stryker – asked the actress, "Now, you guys, you and Samantha, have been going out for how long now? Like two years? One year? Five months? Two months?" There was a short pause, before Lindsay was heard admitting, "A long...a very long time." So it is a fact. *sounds fanfare* Phew. The Right-Wing Talk Radio Hate Shows
I could never understand why anyone would want to listen to the hateful shows on right-wing talk radio. Especially, those who proclaim that their religion keeps them on the straight and narrow. Listening to the disgusting rhetoric these Shock Jockeys spew forth creates barbarity in those who refuse to think... When minds are so full of the nonsense from the right-wing creeps, who's only objective is to make money and control the masses, they tend to wreck havoc upon the innocent. (case-in-point, the pathetic nut who went on a shooting rampage at the UU church in TN.) We are all in the same boat. We love and want peace so why look upon each other as though we are just pockets of vermin. Haven't we had enough HATE? I guess there are some who would answer NO, because they live for aversion. Here's a little advice for DITTO-HEADS, you can live in peace, it's really quite simple, just turn your damn radios off and have a nice day. :) You can also view the video here: http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com/2008/09/right-wing-hat... McCain confused about Spain
During a radio interview he repeatedly avoided the question of whether he would invite Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero to the White House if he wins the election.
When Mr McCain eventually gave an answer, it suggested he thought Mr Zapatero was a leader of a Latin American state, rather than a major European country.
"All I can tell you is that I have a clear record of working with leaders in the hemisphere that are friends with us and standing up to those who are not," he said.
"And that's judged on the basis of the importance of our relationship with Latin America and the entire region."
I wonder if he knows who gorden brown is.

In Wake of Georgian War, Russian Media Feel Heat
At the height of the crisis over Russia's invasion of Georgia last month, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin summoned the top executives of his nation's most influential newspapers and broadcasters to a private meeting in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.
The Kremlin controls much of the Russian media, and Putin occasionally meets with friendly groups of senior journalists to answer questions and guide news coverage. On Aug. 29, though, for the first time in five years, he also invited the editor in chief of Echo Moskvy, the only national radio station that routinely broadcasts opposition voices.
For several minutes, according to people who attended the session or were briefed about it, Putin berated the editor in front of his peers, criticizing Echo's coverage of the war with Georgia and reading from a dossier of transcripts to point out what he considered errors.
"I'm not interested in who said these things," one participant quoted Putin telling the editor, Alexei Venediktov. "You are responsible for everything that goes on at the radio station. I don't know who they are, but I know who you are... "
