Naughty Teacher of the Week: Brenda Baillargeon
Brenda Baillargeon, 40, a former teacher’s aide at Amery High School in Amery, Wisconsin was sentenced to one year in the county jail and 15 years probation for engaging in sex with a 16-year-old male student. Orginally she was arrested on 3 counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff and 2 counts of child enticement with sexual contact.
Mother-of-four Baillargeon entered a no contest pleas to one count of sex assault of a student by school staff and one count of child enticement with sexual contact. In exchange for her no context plea three other felony charges were dismissed.
The boy's family, according to the court's victim advocate, said they were satisfied with the outcome.
The teenager's mother became suspicious about the relationship last fall -- a relationship Baillargeon and the boy first denied to investigators. The mother obtained a restraining order, which Baillargeon repeatedly ignored.

Ex-church youth program leader gets probation for having sex with teen
A former church youth program director received five years of probation on Tuesday for having a sexual relationship with a teenager in the program. Angela Hurt of Rogers, Ark., pleaded guilty in May for second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy.
The victim's mother was clearly disappointed that Hurt received no jail.
The mother told the judge that, before the crime took place, her son was involved in football, and played guitar in the church youth group. She says, after it happened, the teen stopped being involved altogether.
Hurt was ordered to stay away from the boy as part of her probation.
Regarding the $10 million civil suit, the parties reached an out-of-court settlement and the lawsuit was dismissed. All signed a confidentiality agreement so details of the settlement are secret.
Prosecutors charged her in November 2006 with having sex with a 15-year-old boy in early 2005. Investigators think the relationship between Hurt and the boy lasted two years and included multiple sexual encounters. Mehul has assisted on a variety short film and music video projects and was co-director on the EM Media funded short film COCONUT, which has been screened at festivals and venues across the country as well as broadcast nationwide through Propeller TV (2006) and The Community Channel (2005). Online matchmaking has many Muslim women elbowing traditional courtship
Yasmin El Jamal, a 20-year-old New Yorker, knows her friend Haneen Ahmad from Washington state through Facebook, the social networking site.
Although they talk on the phone, the two have never met. What brought them together was a Facebook group for people interested in the kuffiya, a traditional Palestinian scarf.
Although she and her parents think it's fine to meet a friend this way, neither El Jamal nor her parents think the Internet is the place for a Muslim woman to meet a suitor.
"I don't think talking to a person online and looking at random people's pictures is the right way to find a husband or a wife," says El Jamal. "A lot of people are doing it behind their parents' backs and getting in a lot of trouble. I know a lot of girls who ended up having premarital sex."
Even though El Jamal lives in the United States, she expects her route to marriage will follow the customs of her Palestinian family and many traditional Muslims: Young people meet at college or weddings and if attraction kicks in, an eligible suitor goes to the woman's home to meet her and the family in a supervised setting.
