Steroidwarning_3 Depicted is a 21-year-old amateur bodybuilder who arrived at a clinic in Dusseldorf, Germany with severe acne on his chest and upper back.
He was a constant user of anabolic-androgenic steroids, of which acne is a side effect -- as is damaged sperm and shrunken testicles, both of which he also possessed.
Doctors ordered the patient to quit steroids and start taking antibiotics. Two months later, the acne was gone. So was the muscle. Only gruesome scarring remained -- and as his doctors wrote last week in the Lancet, that "is likely to remain with the young man for the rest of his life." NFL steroids dealer David Jacobs and girlfriend Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell shot dead
35-year-old convicted NFL steroids dealer David Jacobs and his 30-year-old girlfriend, Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell, were found dead in in his home in Plano, TX on Thursday morning. Both had been shot.
Jacobs was convicted on federal steroid distribution charges last year, and was sentenced to three years probation and fined $25,000 on May 1st after pleading guilty.
Jacobs claimed he dealt primarily with two NFL players, identifying one of them as offensive lineman Matt Lehr. The two would then distribute the drugs among other players. Lehr has denied the allegations.
He recently met with NFL officials and gave them documented evidence of players who had received the drugs. Convicted steroids dealer who gave names to NFL found dead
PLANO, Texas -- A convicted steroids dealer who recently met with NFL security officials and gave them names of players he said bought steroids from him has been found dead in his home.
Officer Rick McDonald, a police spokesman, said the officers were making a welfare check after relatives of Earhart-Savell expressed concern about her whereabouts.
According to the Dallas Morning News, which first reported the story, Jacobs and Earhart-Savell had been in an on-again, off-again relationship, and at one point were engaged to be married.
Heather Bowden, also a spokeswoman for the Plano police, told the New York Times in a telephone interview, "At this point, it is a homicide investigation, and we have no reason to believe otherwise."
Jacobs was sentenced to three years of probation and fined $25,000 on May 1 after pleading guilty last year in federal court in Dallas to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute anabolic steroids. 15 felony counts for Barry Bonds
"Barry Bonds was charged in a new indictment Tuesday with 15 felony counts alleging he lied to a grand jury when he denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs use and that he hampered the federal government's doping investigation."
A grand jury handed up a superseding indictment charging Bonds with 14 counts of making false declarations to a grand jury in 2003 and one count of obstruction of justice. No new lies were alleged in the new indictment and Bonds wouldn't serve additional prison time if convicted.

Prosecutors File New Indictment Against Barry Bonds

SAN FRANCISCO -- Barry Bonds was charged in a new indictment Tuesday with 15 felony counts alleging he lied to a grand jury when he denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs use and that he hampered the federal government's doping investigation.
The career home run leader originally was charged in November by a federal grand jury with four counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of justice, but in February U.S. District Judge Susan Illston ordered prosecutors to rewrite the indictment because multiple alleged lies were lumped into individual charges.
On Tuesday, a grand jury indicted Bonds on 14 counts of giving false declarations to a grand jury in 2003 and one count of obstruction of justice. No new lies were alleged in the new indictment.
"It's exactly the same," Golden Gate University law professor Peter Keane said. "It's two ways of saying it's lying and there's really no substantial difference between what he was charged with then and what he is charged with now."
The case against Bonds remains built on whether he lied when he told the grand jury that his personal trainer, Greg Anderson, never supplied him with steroids and human growth hormone.
"Barry Bonds is innocent," the player's lead attorney, Allen Ruby, said. Ruby said Bonds would appear in court to plead not guilty to the new charges.
Bonds' next hearing already had been scheduled for June 6 before the new indictment was unsealed, but Ruby said it is unclear whether Bonds' will be expected to enter a plea then.
The Major League Baseball Players Association said last week it was investigating whether to file a collusion grievance against teams for not pursuing Bonds, who became a free agent when the Giants decided they didn't want him back after 15 seasons.
The 43-year-old outfielder, a seven-time NL MVP, says he wants to play this year and his agent claims no team has made an offer for the 14-time All-Star. Judge agrees to put Bonds case on hold
A federal judge agreed today to postpone the prosecution of Barry Bonds while government lawyers correct technical flaws in the indictment of the former Giants slugger.
At a hearing in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, Judge Susan Illston granted a government request to put the case over until June 6. In the meantime, prosecutors said in legal papers they would seek a new indictment of Bonds, who was accused of lying under oath to the federal grand jury that investigated the Bay Area Laboratory Cooperative steroids scandal in 2003. Ever since the release of the Mitchell Report, Roger Clemens has been on a mission to clear his name from the laundry list of players that the report claims used performance-enhancing drugs. Many players that were accused in the Mitchell Report have since confessed to their using steroids or human growth hormone. Among them is Andy Pettitte, a long time friend, teammate and training partner of Clemens. Although, Clemens has appeared on 60 Minutes, other interviews and on YouTube denying his alleged drug use many people aren't convinced. In a congressional hearing in Washington, Clemens hopes to sway the court of popular opinion to his side by taking the stand under oath and stating his case yet again. Roger Clemens and his former trainer Brian McNamee are testifying before Congress right now in regards to allegations of steroid usage, HGH usage, potential perjury, etc...

Rep. John Tierney had an experience many of us in the media have had while trying to interview Clemens: We ask one thing. He gives an answer that seems to be in response to some whole other question. And no matter how hard we try, he keeps answering the question he hears, not the question we asked.
Tierney noted three specific times Clemens told investigators he'd never talked to McNamee about HGH -- but then cited two occasions when he confronted McNamee about his injection of his wife with HGH.
Repeatedly, Tierney asked Clemens how he "reconciled" that inconsistency. Repeatedly, Clemens gave answers that indicated that "prior" to those conversations, he'd never had a "specific" discussion with McNamee about HGH.
You wanted to scream out, "Roger, that's not what he's asking." But eventually, Tierney just gave up and moved on.

5 years probabtion was the lightened sentence for "cooperating" with Mitchell.
