British court jails mum for biting son
A mother was jailed by a British court today after biting her five-year-old son in a "revenge" attack because he had hurt his baby sister.
Asked why she did it, the 28-year-old mother-of-two said: "I don't know. Probably that he hurt his sister, so he's got to be hurt.
"It's an automatic reaction to protect your youngest. He had already had his DS (Nintendo games console) confiscated earlier this week. I feel really guilty. At the end of day it's my baby. He's my baby."
Judge Horton, jailing the woman for five months in Cheltenham, southwest England, said: "There can be few offenses more likely to cause anger and desire for retribution from the public."
"This is a case of pure anger where she appeared to have taken revenge on her own son for injury caused to the other child."
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had hopes of becoming a counselor.

Mom Accused Of Stabbing Youngster Who Bullied Her Daughter
ON, CANADA - We all know about violence on campus and the impulsive acts some kids can pull on each other. Which is what makes this case so unique.
Police are accusing a 34-year-old mother of a young girl of chasing after another child who was bullying her at school - and stabbing her in an unprovoked attack.
Cops first heard this bizarre tale around 7:30pm Wednesday when they received a report about a stabbing.
Witnesses told them they saw a car pull up, come to a sudden halt and then heard a woman shouting at a 15-year-old girl who was standing on the street.
As the startled bystanders watched in stunned surprise, the woman allegedly got out of the vehicle, grabbed the youngster by the hair and stabbed her in the left side of her stomach with a knife.
What could possibly have led to such extreme violence? It didn't take authorities long to unravel this bizarre story. It turns out the suspect's daughter, a 13-year-old girl, had become involved in some sort of verbal fight with the child who was attacked.
When the mom found out about their war of words, cops contend she couldn't leave it alone and allege she took drastic action to avenge her daughter.
The woman later turned herself in to police and is now facing aggravated assault charges. She was held for a bail hearing.
The young girl was taken to hospital and treated for the wound, but her injuries aren't life threatening.
There's no word on what the fight between the two kids may have been about.

Craigslist Vengeance
Nichole Marie Blackwell, 28, posted an ad on Craigslist in March inviting users to come to the Tacoma, Wash., home of her aunt Laurie Raye and take what you want. Everything is free. Please help yourself to anything on the property. According to Jim Buckmaster, C.E.O. of Craigslist, the ad was up for less than two hours before users flagged it as false. But that was plenty of time for carloads of Craigslisters to arrive at Rayes unlocked house, from which Blackwells mother had recently been evicted, and haul off pretty much everything, down to the front door and the baseboards and the kitchen sink.
