Cover model sues magazine for gay harassment
A cover model for Genre Magazine is suing the magazine that allegedly printed a series of provocative photos intended for his personal use without his permission.
After the magazine had gone on sale, Benjamin Massing, 20, says he was subjected to unwanted advances and harassment from gay men and decided to sue the magazine and the photographer for invasion of privacy.
Massing, who is straight, is majoring in molecular biology at the University of Southern Florida. Lawyers for student say the photo spread, which flanked advertisements for sex toys and lubricant, has made it difficult for Massing to book jobs.
The suit alleges Massing has been subjected to sexual solicitations from strangers and the model claims he’s suffered humiliation and damage to his career as a result of the photo spread.
Massing has previously appeared almost in the buff for an Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue. The model also sported a pinstriped suit for an issue of Playboy spotlighting eligible college men. How Nature magazine featured Obama and McCain ... with an unfortunate ad on the ba...
Has the American presidential campaign gone to the dogs?
One could be forgiven for thinking so after seeing the latest issue of Nature magazine.
The world's leading scientific journal has featured a powerful image of John McCain and Barack Obama on its front cover. The pair radiate statesmanlike-authority, the image is suitably sombre for the weighty interview inside.
Then, however, you see the back cover.
In an unfortunate choice, advertisers placed there an image of two labrador pups - one black, one golden, in an uncanny mirror image of the grave image on the front.
The dogs strike eerily similar poses to Barack Obama, the first black American presidential candidate for a major political party, and his Republican rival John McCain, tanned golden brown from the Arizona sun.
The journal swears it is horrified by the coincidence.
"We didn't know until the issue landed on our desks," Nature pleaded to the media.
"It just goes to show that editorial and advertising aren't working in cahoots." Has the American presidential campaign gone to the dogs? ... more -
Hate! magazine
Channel 4 have launched a new online animation site called 4mations.tv
Hate! is an original commission for 4mations, it's basically a spoof advert for a celebrity magazine, dishing all the star soil that's fit to print.
Disclaimer: I wrote it, so this is some shamless self promotion. If enough people watch it and say 'this is awesome' we might get a feature film out of it. Or book tokens. Or a postcard with a topless lady on it. Channel 4 have launched a new online animation site called 4mations.tv ... more -

How low can Republicans Go?
Breaking News: Republicans are gathering addresses on foreclosed properties so former occupants (democrats only) will be turned away from polling places because they do not live there anymore!
---
How Low Can Republicans Go?
It's bottomless! I swear these people, the Republican people, who run elections have no soul. I know, sadly, there is enough dirty tricks to go around in all the political persuasions. But the Repubs really know how to pull off the dirtiest of dirty tricks, without blinking an eye! I wonder why that is? Is it because they believe rules and laws are meaningless when it comes to getting their party the winning prize?. Or maybe they just have been mentally conditioned and have become barbarian brutes, due to using, low blows for so long they can't tell RIGHT from WRONG any longer?. I believe it's the latter, with quite a bit of truth in the former. Read about how they (repubs) wish to use the property addresses of those unfortunate individuals who have had their shelters, their family homes, their belongings, confiscated by foreclosure, so they would be disqualified from voting because they no longer lived at such address. Calling it disgusting is way too mild. Follow this link: http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/09/16/mccain-would-t...
Harper's has a lengthy article this month about the casualties of foreclosure. Please read the poignant account of what happens to those victims and I do mean VICTIMS of the Republican Led Financial Disaster of no oversight on Subprime Mortgage Lender practices within the USA Financial Institutions. It's a read of the stark reality behind all the numbers you see and hear from the media the, hard numbers of sadness... Bleak Houses" http://www.thethinkingblue.com/bleak1.html

Encefalus just had a serious case of ENCEFALITIS!!! Encefalitis blogzine issue 1!
Encefalitis is a blogzine, that is, a magazine composed of blog posts.
I first thought about piecing together my posts together into a pdf file, so as to be able to classify them and find them easier. But later I discovered that this could make an excellent magazine, that anyone can get and print and read it at his free time at his own leisure. So, there we had the birth of Encefalitis!
Encefalitis issue 1 contains posts from the period 23 July 2008 - 23 August 2008. The first issue is 111 pages long (my lucky number :P ). I will probably make the later issues smaller, since it will be much easier for me to work on the layout and the content :-) . I also found the opportunity with Encefalitis, to make a few corrections to older articles (adding links or correcting bad grammar). So, there you have it! Encefalitis is a blogzine, that is, a magazine composed of blog posts. ... more -
