Soccer team subdues naked man on plane
An American Airlines flight from Boston to Los Angeles was diverted to Oklahoma City on Friday after a passenger stripped nude and later tried to open an emergency exit door before being subdued by members of a professional soccer team and others, the FBI said.
Members of the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer were among those who grabbed the passenger near an exit door, FBI spokesman Gary Johnson said. Tie wraps were placed on the man, whose name was not immediately released. He was taken into custody in Oklahoma City and placed under psychiatric evaluation, Johnson said.

Gillian Callaghan, who was traveling with her 12-year-old son, said she never panicked because the flight crew seemed to keep things well under control. She said she felt sorry for the man.
“He was just having some troubles, confused, not a scary guy,” she said. An American Airlines flight from Boston to Los Angeles was diverted to Oklahoma City on Friday after a passenger stripped nude and lat... more -

Ronaldinho to sign for AC Milan
Manchester City have lost out to Italian side AC Milan in the race to sign Barcelona playmaker Ronaldinho.
Milan will pay Spanish side Barcelona just £14.6m for his services, with the figure likely to be increased by performance-related bonuses.
The two-time Fifa World Player of the Year's time at Barcelona effectively came to an end in June when new manager Pep Guardiola announced the playmaker was surplus to requirements.
Ronaldinho helped Barcelona win back-to-back Spanish league titles (2004-05, 2005-06) and the Champions League in 2006, but failed to cement a regular place in the starting XI last season because of injury and fitness issues.

Is South Africa Ready For 2010 Soccer World Cup?
Despite recent FIFA reports that a plan B might be necessary should South Africa be unable to host the biggest sporting event in the world, FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke has stressed that South Africa is on track to host the games, and there will be no plan B unless South Africa is hit by a natural disaster.
"The president (Blatter) made it clear that only a catastrophe would prevent South Africa hosting the 2010 spectacle. We had a problem in 2003 in China when an earthquake forced Fifa to move the Women's World cup to the United States.
"Only that type of disaster will force Fifa's hand on South Africa. (The Star) Despite recent FIFA reports that a plan B might be necessary should South Africa be unable to host the biggest sporting event in the w... more -
