Rihanna mistaken for Prince by fans In London
"Pop star Rihanna is followed by screaming fans wherever she goes in the world. Recently some of them were actually screaming for someone else. Who you ask ? None other than his Purpleness, Prince!
While traveling in London last month, Rihanna was mistaken for the Purple Rain rocker.
"Some fans screamed out, 'Prince!' when they saw her," says a witness. "But when they got close enough to ask for an autograph, they realized he was a she." Now we all know that Prince has that he-she vibe going on but I'm sure that didn't make RiRI feel any better. LOL!" "Pop star Rihanna is followed by screaming fans wherever she goes in the world. Prince's door-to-door preaching shocks fans
Prince is often chased through the streets by his fans - as he tries to convert them to the Bible.
The singer, who became a Jehovah's Witness in 2001, goes house-to-house to preach about the faith.
And fans are sometimes so stunned to find the rock legend on their doorstep that they don't want to let him go.
He tells USA Today, "Sometimes fans freak out. It might be a shock to see me, but that's no reason for people to act crazy, and it doesn't give them licence to chase me down the street."
Prince is so devoted to his faith that he even takes the Bible to business meetings - to show executives he is serious about doing a deal.
He adds: "There are all kinds of possible deals artists aren't privy to. I love to bring the Bible to the table. I start by asking if they believe in God, then: 'What kind of business do you want to conduct: Transparent or hide the ball?' I'll do tours and albums if the deal is clean." Prince Harry worked as bouncer in African bar
LONDON: Believe it or not, Prince Harry, the third-in-line to the British throne, even worked as a bouncer at a bar while he was in Africa helping build a school for Aids orphans with some of his colleagues in the Army.
The 23-year-old Prince pestered British-born landlord Brian Sables to let him be a bouncer at Hopinn Bar in Lesotho after he fell for a T-shirt which one of the serving security guards at the outlet was wearing. "Harry took a fancy to the uniform straight away and asked me, 'How do I get one?'. I said, 'You only get one of these if you work in the bar.'
"He said, 'I can do any job going'. I said, 'We've got only one job going at the moment and that's as a bouncer on the door', and he said, 'That's fine'," reports quoted Sables as saying. Added a Royal source: "Harry adores going to Lesotho. He can just go to a bar for a few beers with his army pals and relax. He was so determined to get a T-shirt and be a doorman for the evening Brian couldn't turn him down."
During the two-week trip, Harry also borrowed ten pounds from Sables to buy a round for his colleagues from the Blues and Royals Regiment. "Harry was sitting there wondering who was paying for the next round. He came up to me and said, 'Eh, I've got no money, just lend me a tenner," Sables was quoted as saying.
Harry has spent the past two weeks in Botswana on safari and was only joined last weekend by his 22-year-old girlfriend Chelsy Davy. He is expected to be back in Britain this week to resume duties at Blues and Royals HQ in Windsor. Radiohead to Prince: Unblock 'Creep' cover videos
After word spread that Prince covered Radiohead's "Creep" at Coachella, the tens of thousands who couldn't be there ran to YouTube for a peek. Everyone was quickly denied — even Radiohead.
All videos of Prince's unique rendition of Radiohead's early hit were quickly taken down, leaving only a message that his label, NPG Records, had removed the clips, claiming a copyright violation. But the posted videos were shot by fans and, obviously, the song isn't Prince's.
In a recent interview, Thom Yorke said he heard about Prince's performance from a text message and thought it was "hilarious." Yorke laughed when his bandmate, guitarist Ed O'Brien, said the blocking had prevented him from seeing Prince's version of their song.
"Really? He's blocked it?" asked Yorke, who figured it was their song to block or not. "Surely we should block it. Hang on a moment."
Yorke added: "Well, tell him to unblock it. It's our ... song." After word spread that Prince covered Radiohead's "Creep" at Coachella, the tens of thousands who couldn't be ther... more -
Prince vs. Radiohead: DMCA FIGHT!
Prince covered Radiohead's Creep at Coachella. A clip wound up on YouTube. YouTube pulled the clip, and Radiohead is not thrilled. And so a digital rights fight is going to ensue.
Here's a blip from Pitchfork:
"Having footage of his own songs removed is within Prince's rights of course, but where should the line be drawn for covers?
Radiohead, as it happens, feel that right belongs to them. An Associated Press report picked up by Billboard.com today notes comments from a recent Radiohead interview (with the AP, presumably, although the report's not 100% clear on that) that suggest the band isn't pleased with Prince's decision to have those "Creep" cover videos taken down. As the AP report puts it:
"Thom Yorke said he heard about Prince's performance from a text message and thought it was "hilarious." Yorke laughed when his bandmate, guitarist Ed O'Brien, said the blocking had prevented even him from seeing Prince's version of their song.
"Really? He's blocked it?" asked Yorke, who figured it was their song to block or not. "Surely we should [have the right to] block it. Hang on a moment." Yorke added, "Well, tell him to unblock it. It's our...song."""

Prince to replace Jay-Z at Glastonbury?
Prince could headline this summer's Glastonbury music festival if Jay-Z confirms he has pulled out.
The 'Purple Rain' singer is set to be asked to perform at the event in Somerset, England, to replace rapper Jay-Z, who has seemingly cancelled his appearance to play London's O2 Wireless festival instead.

It's going to 'purple rain' in the desert; Prince joins Coachella
What's the best way to give a big, last-minute boost to ticket sales for this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival? In a word: Prince.
In a move that may suggest that co-headliners Portishead and Kraftwerk weren't drawing well enough for their April 26 slots at Coachella, Prince has been added to top that night's lineup.
This will mark the Purple Wonder's first performance at Coachella, which takes place April 25-27 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio. His addition should send the festival's charisma quotient soaring high above the desert sky, especially since he rarely performs at festivals in this country. And as his show-stealing half-time show at last year's Super Bowl attested, almost no one Prince rises to the occasion like Prince. What's the best way to give a big, last-minute boost to ticket sales for this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festi... more -
