Naughty little schoolgirl stole thousands from friends 'because she was homesick'
An 18-year-old schoolgirl stole thousands of pounds from friends at her private boarding school and went on a designer label spending spree, reports the Telegraph.
Tsz Wai Lau held onto one friend's card details after she'd borrowed it once legitimately, and copied others into her mobile phone as friends stood paying at the till on various shopping trips. Nasty!
The she treated herself to a Marc Jacobs purse and a Dolce and Gabbana handbag. Some women will do anything for fashion, huh?
She (or perhaps her mummy) has now repaid all the stolen money and apologised to her victims, and her lawyer blamed exam pressure and homesickness for her behaviour, while her headteacher described her as "a bright student [who] excelled academically, particularly in mathematics and science." I'll bet she did: the mathematics of credit card fraud and the science of deception!
She pleaded guilty to six counts of fraud and asked for another 14 to be taken into consideration (almost impressively illustrious for an 18 year old), and she was given a 21 day prison sentence, but that was reduced after she spent 4 days in Holloway Prison. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but surely this girl would still be enjoying the hospitality of Her Majesty's Pleasure if she was from a council estate and not a posh private school?

Urban Outfitters’ join forces with Geren Ford
Urban Outfitters' is jumping on Target's "guest-designed lines" wagon. (I think Payless, and Express have jumped on too). Urban Outfitters' will feature a capsule collection by Geren Lockhart (designed by Geren Ford).
The line, Hawks by Geren Ford, will hit stores in May and retail for $48 to $128. Ford's contemporary label is sold at Barney's and Saks and retails for $98 to $547 (ouch).
According to the article Urban is taking on a new look thanks to the collection:
"Urban Outfitters is trying to infuse its merchandise with an Upper East Side jet-setting sensibility. The label for the Hawks line reads, 'Start in Texas. Skip to California. Head to New York. Jump Overseas. And Repeat.' It's so hipster, yet so not, which makes us think this could be a huge hit. If pencil skirts start proliferating off the Bedford L stop, at least we'll know why."
