    • Live Action Version of Blood: The Last Vampire

Seems that the long waited live action version of the manga/anime Blood: The Last Vampire is finally getting it's final release date. Time will tell how final that is going to be. Originally slated to be released worldwide in spring 2008,[23] the film is now scheduled for release in America in March 2009.

In May 2006, Bill Kong, producer of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Here, announced that he was producing a live-action film adaptation of Blood: The Last Vampire, directed by Ronny Yu, and primarily filmed in English rather than Japanese.

The film's setting is shifted slightly from the anime to 1948 at a United States Army camp in Tokyo, shortly after the conclusion of World War II during the American occupation of Japan. Saya will be a 400-year-old half human-half vampire who hunts vampires which are also her only source for food. Normally a loner, Saya forms a friendship with a young girl while preparing to battle Onigen, the highest ranking of the vampires.

Kong and Yu were planning on financing the project themselves without the support of Production I.G. However, in November 2006, Production I.G officially consented to the film. Through Manga Entertainment, French Pathe will act as the film's production company. While Yu has been kept on as the film's producer, Chris Nahon is taking over as the film's director.Korean actress Jun Ji-Hyun, who changed her name to Gianna Jun for the release, will portray Saya.

    • Vampires: State of the Genre Report

For some reason the vampire genre never seems to go out of style, despite all manner of shitty and sub-par efforts. Blood, sweat, tears and cash are wasted in vain attempts to bring newer, shinier product to the public, which, most often, is ultimately inferior.Vampires are kind of bulletproof which maybe explains why people just throw stuff together and expect it to do well..... • Vampire movie gets it's release dates

Let the Right One In, also known as Let Me in, is work of vampire fiction novel written in 2004 by Swedish writer John Ajvide Lindqvist. The story centres on the relationship between a 12-year-old boy, Oskar, who is being bullied at school. He befriends a mysterious girl, Eli, who moves in next door with her father Håkan. In the course of the story the reader finds out all is not what it seems. Eli is really a vampire and her 'father' supplies her with fresh blood by murdering young boys. As Oskar gradually begins to understand who Eli really is, the bond between them grows stronger. Eli teaches him to stand up to his bullies and Oskar grows increasingly fond of 'her'.

Captivated by the gruesome stories and by Eli’s idiosyncrasies (she is only seen at night, and unaffected by the freezing cold), it doesn't take long before Oskar figures out that Eli is a vampire. Nevertheless, their friendship strengthens, and a subtle romance blossoms as the youngsters become inseparable. In spite of Oskar’s loyalty to her, Eli knows that she can only continue to live if she keeps on moving. But when Oskar faces his darkest hour, Eli returns to defend him the only way she can...

he title refers to the Morrissey song 'Let the right one slip in' but also to the aspect of vampire lore which suggests that vampires cannot enter a house unless invited.

The film will be released in New York City and Los Angeles on October 24th. In the weeks following, the movie will roll out into more cities. In DVD format movie will be available on March 10th 2009.

    • What Is The Secret Killing Weapon In Iraq?

      Excerpt:

During a street battle in Baghdad on April 12 2003, Al-Ghazali describes witnessing American troops unveil an oddly configured tank which “suddenly let loose a blinding stream of what seemed like fire and lightning, engulfing a large passenger bus and three automobiles.”

“Within seconds the bus had become semi-molten, sagging “like a wet rag” as he put it. He said the bus rapidly melted under this withering blast, shrinking until it was a twisted blob about the dimensions of a VW bug. As if that were not bizarre enough, al-Ghazali explicitly describes seeing numerous human bodies shriveled to the size of newborn babies. By the time local street fighting ended that day, he estimates between 500 and 600 soldiers and civilians had been cooked alive as a result of the mysterious tank-mounted device.”

Al-Ghazali adds that following the battle, U.S. troops were scrupulous about burying the evidence of the weapon’s deadly consequences, but that telltale signs remained which he showed to journalist Dillon.

Dillon, a battlefield medic in Vietnam, Somalia and Kosovo, stated, “I’ve seen a freaking smorgasbord of destruction in my life, flame-throwers, napalm, white phosphorous, thermite, you name it. I know of nothing short of an H-bomb that conceivably might cause a bus to instantly liquefy or that can flash broil a human body down to the size of an infant. God pity humanity if that thing is a preview of what’s in store for the 21st century.”

I wonder if much of those missing trillions of dollars at the Pentagon have been and are being spent on secret weapons research of the kind that even the government is not informed or conscious of.
