Deer causes chaos in Italy
A wild deer fleeing summer storms brought chaos to an Italian city centre when it ran amok.
The 24-stone deer jumped over tables at local cafes, overturned potted plants and destroyed various stands selling produce from local shops before it was cornered in the city of Bolzano.
Numerous policemen and hunters as well as the city's fire brigade spent several hours trying to catch the deer without success.
Eventually the animal was trapped in a car park where it was shot after smashing a shop window.
Two people required treatment when they suffered cuts and bruises after being butted.

Airlines Need to Go Green
Asking airlines to go green is no simple task. The technologies exist but a company like Boeing would have to engineer an entirely different kind of aircraft that utilizes state of the art technologies. They will have to combine solar technology along with nanotechnology. A way can be devised to connect them to a series of ultra thin but durable and light lithium-ion batteries that would need to be comfortably resting in the middle of the passenger’s seats providing extra power during takeoff and landing.
Hopefully this article will reach the right person and inspire them to build a Greenliner.

There are two types of common signs. The first sign is a warning sign, used to warn vehicles, pedestrians, or to pay attention to dangerous locations. The other signs are directional signs, usually used to provide vehicles and pedestrians with directional assistance. Usually...
Many of the so-called "caution signs" are often portrayed as universally recognized logos or drawings. These signs point out a specific area of caution, and try to draw attention to it's warning, although these signs can often be amusing, funny, and sometimes, just downright strange. In any case, proceed with caution.

Striking similarities between Martian and Alaskan Landscapes
From the report: Little did Bucknell University geology professors Craig Kochel and Jeffrey Trop know, as they were working in Alaska, that they would soon predict one of the most important planetary observations ever made.
Although geologists can usually tell what shapes the landscape around us, it was a mystery what formed the Mars-like features found in Alaska.
The conditions on Mars are quite different than anything experienced on Earth. For example, Mars is much colder than even the Arctic — the average martian temperature is -81 degrees F (-63 degrees C) — and the planet's atmospheric pressure is lower than Earth's. Still, for the same features to be present on Earth and Mars, the two professors suspected similar processes would have made them. Scientists: humans and machines will merge in as little as two decades
From the report: By the 2030s humans will become more non-biological than biological, capable of uploading our minds onto the Internet, living in various virtual worlds and even avoiding aging and evading death.
In the 2040s, [Scientist Ray] Kurzweil predicts non-biological intelligence will be billions of times better than the biological intelligence humans have today, possibly rendering our present brains as obsolete. It's a bum rap: police called to break up mass 'mooning'
Laguna Niguel's 'Mooning Amtrak event' saw the police get called in, after 8000 bottom-barers turned up to expose their derrières, and in some instances, even a little more.
A police spokesman said that the police closed down the event after some "mooners began taking all their clothes off and women started lifting up their T-shirts to flash passing trains."
Apparently, the longstanding tradition originated from a pub dare in 1979 after a drinker at a nearby saloon promised his drinking buddies free drinks if they went out to the railway line and mooned the next passing train.
Old habits die hard!

Sheep has own bungalow, but still likes family TV in the living room
After rescuing a lovely little lamb three years ago, David Palmer can't seem to shake off the now fully grown, 22st ram who's made himself right at home at Palmer's house.
Despite numerous attempts to return the ram to farm life, the luxurious habitat of his own bungalow, equipped with carpets and windows seems too much to pass up. Give him some credit though, he's loyal, he still likes to watch TV in the family living room as well as taking the odd car trip.

Baby left in shopping cart outside Wal-Mart
"A southern Missouri couple may be charged after their 2-month-old baby was left in a shopping cart outside a Wal-Mart. Lebanon police say the couple had finished their shopping on July 4, loaded their car and drove off without taking the baby. A witness said he watched the couple drive away, leaving the baby behind.
Twenty minutes later, the frantic parents called Wal-Mart. Police said the couple first lied about why they sped away, claiming a neighbor had called to report someone was breaking into their home. But they eventually admitted that they simply forgot the infant.
Both parents were arrested on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child and released, pending possible formal charges by Laclede County prosecutors.
Police say the baby is staying with a relative and is in good condition."
