Primark's primeval labour force includes children
Ministers are being pressed by activists to act after the BBC uncovered the fact that child labour is used to produce clothing for Primark by large contract holders in India.
Primark's excuse is that the firms they had contracted to do the work had subcontracted smaller firms to do work for them, and it is here where children entered into Primarks workforce.
"Under no circumstances would Primark ever knowingly permit such activities" they said, but is this a good enough excuse for a company as large as Primark?
If the price is too good to be true, surely this is testament to the fact that it probably is.

Dispair, the new black
"We like to say we are the brand for cynics, pessimists and the chronically unsuccessful," said Lawrence Kersten, the co-founder of Despair, Inc.
He says the "future of Despair" looks pretty good. These are boom times for the Austin, Texas-based company that deals in demotivation.
One of Despair, Inc.'s more popular slogans? "Worth: Just because you're necessary doesn't mean you're important."
"I guess a lot of people feel that way," Kersten said.

Bill O'Reilly "F*ck it, we'll do it live!" T-Shirts
I know that this might be construed as borderline "solicitation" but I am in no way affiliated with these guys or the producers of the "Bill O'Reilly Flips Out: Dance Remix" video. I just saw this on their YouTube site and thought it was hilarious. Now all we're missing is a ring tone. McDonald's Creates Design Look
Restaurant giant McDonald's is providing its UK workers with new designer uniforms, in a "mark of respect" for its staff.
The new outfits, designed by Bruce Oldfield, include a polo shirt and baseball cap, both in black and mocha.
McDonald's said its staff did a "challenging job" serving two million people daily. The new outfits would help them "feel good" in their role.
Bruce Oldfield's clients include Jemima Khan and Catherine Zeta Jones.
Mr Oldfield said it had been great fun to design the "contemporary look" for employees at the fast-food firm.
The outfit also includes black trousers and a black belt.
For managers, the outfit involves black suits combined with shirts in white or biscuit with a tie for men and a scarf for women.

Ethnic clothes linked to mental health
According to a recent report, teenage girls from some minority communities have better mental health if they stick to traditional family customs.
Queen Mary University of London discovered that Bangladeshi girls who chose traditional rather than Western dress had less behavioural and emotional problems, than their western counterparts.
The research looked at a selection of 1000 British and Bangladeshi 11 to 14-year-olds, exploring their culture, social life and health, as well as posing questions that were designed to reveal any potential emotional or mental problems.
The Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health reported that pressure to integrate fully could be stressful, but that close-knit families and communities could help protect them.
The report found that although adolescents are particularly vulnerable to mental health problems, the Bangladeshi pupils who favoured traditional clothing were significantly less likely to have mental health problems than those whose style of dress was a mix of traditional and white British styles.
Interestingly, when this was broken down by gender, it appeared that only girls were affected.

Meet the Ku Klux Klan's seamstress of hate couture.
Coming from five generations of Mississippi Ku Klux Klan members, 58-year-old "Ms. Ruth" sews hoods and robes for Klan members seven days a week, blessing each one when it's done. A red satin outfit for an Exalted Cyclops, the head of a local chapter, costs about $140. She uses the earnings to help care for her 40-year-old quadriplegic daughter, "Lilbit," who was injured in a car accident 10 years ago.

Dog lovers turn their pets into jumpers
After each of their two pedigrees passed away, the couple had yarn spun from strands of pet hair combed over the years from their carpets.
Gran-of-six Beth knitted his jumper 12 years ago after Kara, the Newcastle couple's white Samoyed, died in 1990.
She got the idea from seeing Princess Diana wearing a dog fur stole at Crufts.
Penny, their Swedish Lapphund, died in 2002 - and the animal's fur allowed knitter Beth to create her own garment.
She has enough left over for another jumper...but she's using normal wool for now to make sweaters for her family.
Well I don't know about anyone else but I certainly don't keep my dogs hair from the carpet, it get's sucked up the hoover and I've got a long haired dog - perhaps I should start keeping it, I could make a fortune. La Lohan does La Leggings?
As more and more celebrities take on design lines — today alone, it’s Rachel Bilson and Whitney Port! — we have to wonder what what qualifies Hollywood stars (who all have stylists) to be designers. But when we heard that Lindsay Lohan is designing a line of leggings, we knew she had the experience to do it. In fact, Lindsay has made the stretchy pants her her style signature — at one point, she was photographed in leggings for 21 days straight! Her rep confirms that Lindsay is doing the line, but no other details are available at this point. We’ll just have to keep watching Lindsay to see when she debuts the new line on herself.

Hemp/Cannabis the Original Sustainable Solution
(1st things 1st - kids DO NOT DO DRUGS, they will mess up your life. Focus on school, read books, lots of books.)
Hemp/Cannabis is of more use to the human race than any other plant I am aware of. Some cultures even think of it as the Tree of Life, a conclusion that seems more accurate the more I think about it myself. Provideforall.com aims to explore what hemp/cannabis can do for mankind.
To summarize some key points:
There is nothing more eco-friendly than hemp/cannabis. The seed is one of the most nutritious food sources on the planet. You can make everything man possibly needs to survive, very well, from cement to plastic to fuel from this amazing resource. Ironically some of the biggest polluting industries on earth would be totally green (relative to now) if they invested in hemp, a plant they inadvertently pay to avoid.
As humankind learns more about the uses of hemp in the past, even cited in popular religious scripture, it seems very apparent that hemp (and all cannabis to some degree) is a perfect tool to aid mankind in repairing his environment, especially in relation to our petroleum dependency.
