Elvis Is Alive Museum for sale again on EBay
The Elvis Is Alive Museum is once again for sale on eBay. The museum's owner, Andy Key of Mississippi, says military duties will keep him away from home for at least five months.
The 39-year-old Key set a minimum starting bid of $15,000 on the listing, which ends Friday. He bought the museum on eBay last year for $8,300.
Key told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he hopes someone local buys the contents of the museum and continues running it in Hattiesburg, Miss.
The collection includes photographs, books, FBI files, DNA reports and other memorabilia that aim to support the theory that Elvis never died.
Bill Beeny, a Baptist minister who founded the museum in 1990 in Missouri, says he has no plans to buy it back.

August - the cruelest month
The world tends to look the other way in August. And when it does, calamity strikes.
WW1 kicked off in August, almost exactly 76 years to the day later, Iraq invaded Kuwait, Hitler readied his invasion of Poland while the rest of Europe sunned itself into drowsy stupor in August 1939, Warsaw was virtually wiped off the map during the Polish Uprising.
It isn't just Wars that seem to start in August - stars and world leaders have fallen from grace in this sunny month. Elvis died in August (on the 16th, 1977), so did Marilyn Monroe (5th, 1962) and Princess Diana. Richard Nixon resigned as US President on August 9, 1974. Michael Jackson was accused of child abuse on August 24, 1993 (he was never charged). And Bill Clinton admitted his affair with Monica Lewinksy on August 17, 1998.
So people - beware of this summer month!!!! The world tends to look the other way in August. And when it does, calamity strikes. ... more -

1800-year-old Elvis Presley sculpture
It looks like Elvis might have been rocking Rome almost 2,000 years ago after a marble carving - the spitting-image of the king - was revealed.
The 1,800-year-old Roman bust is now due to go under the hammer as part of a £1 million auction at Bonhams in London.
Dating back to 400 BC it bares a striking resemblance with Elvis, down to the over-the-top quiff and distinctive jaw line.
Fans would be forgiven for thinking that their idol may well have lived a previous life in Rome.
A spokesman for Bonhams, said: "The likeness is so great that Graham Geddes, the collector himself calls the carving "Elvis."
"It is perhaps the strangest item in the sale, certainly to modern eyes."
The 'Elvis' bust is one of 150 lots, which once belonged to Australian collector Graham Geddes, which will be auctioned in October, other items include rare Greek and Roman vases and marble reliefs portraying battle scenes. 2,000 year-old 'Elvis' carving to be auctioned
A Roman 'acroterion' ornament, thought to be around 2,000 years old, is to be auctioned.
The piece (pictured) bears a strong resemblance to 'The King', comes from a private collection in Australia, and is expected to fetch between £25,000 and £30,000.
A spokesman for the auctioneers, Bonhams, said: "looking at this face with its Elvis-like quiff, strong jaw and nose, one is inevitably led to the thought that the human face for all is diversity and subtlety has after all an ability to repeat itself." Elvis lives: 2,000-year-old carving bears striking resemblance to the King
From the towering quiff, to the come-to-bed eyes and seductive pout, the resemblance of this carving to Elvis Presley is striking. But the sculpture was created around 1,800 years before 'The King' ever crooned his first song.
The Roman ornament, called an acroterion, is carved in marble on the corner of a sarcophagus dating from the second century AD. It is among a collection of ancient art owned by the Melbourne-based dealer Graham Geddes, which is estimated to sell for more than £1m. Mr Geddes' collection, which includes more than 50 classical Greek vases and 30 pieces of marble sculpture, will be auctioned by Bonhams in October.
Many of these items will sell for up to £90,000 each, and the bust, which even the collector has nicknamed 'Elvis', is estimated to make between £25,000 and £30,000.
A spokesman for Bonhams said: "Fans of the King of Rock 'n Roll, seeing this face from the distant past will be forgiven for thinking that their idol may well have lived a previous life in Rome. "Looking at this face with its Elvis-like quiff, strong jaw and nose, one is inevitably led to the thought that the human face for all is diversity and subtlety has after all an ability to repeat itself."

These New Puritans - Elvis
Sorta new band I've gained a ton of interest in. These New Puritans hailing from Southend-on-Sea in England have a urgent sound to them and their new album Beat Pyramid has a lot of random songs on it that are quite danceable yet ominous sounding. Think The Fall, an amazing post-punk band from back in the d-izz-ay, in case you didn't know already.
Mind you the video is weird yet oddly enticing. Or maybe I'm the weird one.
I think you should definitely check them out. Trust, they're not just another UK indie band. I think there is something quite unique here. Sorta new band I've gained a ton of interest in. These New Puritans hailing from Southend-on-Sea in England have a urgent sound t... more -

Evidence Of Elvis' New Life For Sale
by Nicole
The owner of Elvis Is Alive Museum, Bill Beany from Wright City, Missouri, is selling its contents on Ebay. According to a statement on the site the "contents of the museum and the two affiliated websites are being sold because the owner is now 81."
Included in the sale is the ownership and rights to a DNA test on some liver biopsy tissue Beany acquired. The tissue sample, which was removed from the singer in a 1975 procedure, did not match a sample taken from Elvis' body during his autopsy.
"When I first got interested I thought all this talk about Elvis being alive was ridiculous," recalls Beany in a 1997 interview with Cleveland writer John Herrington. "But, then, I found so many inconsistencies during my studies of information that I came to the conclusion he did not die August 16, 1977, and that he is still living."
Beany amassed over 600 pages copied from FBI files, which he claims document the fact that Elvis worked with the FBI and DEA. According to Beany, Elvis was working with the government agencies on a sting operation involving the Mafia just before he died and had received numerous death threats. Beany, who wrote two books on the subject, theorizes that Elvis went into the Federal Witness Protection Program, faking his death with a surrogate body, which some have suggested may have belonged to Colonel Tom Parker's stepson, who died around the same time as Elvis.
Elvis did indeed meet with President Nixon at the White House on December 21st 1970, which was the incident that laid the foundations for many of the conspiracy theories. According to music critic Peter Guralnick, Elvis had a contemptuous view of the hippie drug culture, and wanted Nixon to appoint him as a Federal Agent at Large, coveting a Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs badge to add to his collection of law enforcement memorabilia.
Ironically Elvis was addicted to a cocktail of prescription drugs, which he disassociated with street junkie culture. Elvis died aged 42 on August 16th 1977. Traces of 14 different drugs were found in his system during post-mortem tests. His primary feel-good doctor, who had written 199 prescriptions in Elvis' name in the eight months of 1977 leading up to his death, was later stripped of his license after the untimely demise of subsequent patients. Elvis was buried next to his mother at Forest Hill Cemetery, Memphis. His remains were moved to Graceland after a plot to snatch the bodies of both Elvis and his mother was exposed on August 29th 1977.
So far the top bid for Beany's collection of evidence and memorabilia is $7,500. The lot, which includes a 1974 Cadillac Limousine "like the one Elvis rode in" and a real casket with a mannequin "dressed similar to Elvis," has yet to meet its reserve. The sale ends on November 2nd, but the legend - and the conspiracy theories - will live on.
