Green tea protects against heart disease
A few cups of green tea each day may help prevent heart disease, Greek researchers said on Wednesday.
A study published in the European Journal of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation showed further evidence of the potential health benefits from a brew already linked to a reduced risk of a range of cancers and other conditions.
The study showed that green tea improves blood flow and the ability of arteries to relax, said Charalambos Vlachopoulos, a cardiologist at the Athens Medical School in Greece who worked on the study. Ditch the Bag: Loose-Leaf Indulgence Is Your Cup of Tea
Simply dropping teabags into a mug not only yields an unsatisfying, solitary brew, Tony Turnbull writes in the Times of London—it spoils the ceremony and anticipation crucial for enjoyment. A teashop visit converted the self-described “inveterate teabag user” into a fan of the “strange alchemy” that transforms dried tea leaves into a perfect cup.
Turnbull learned to forget the Zen stuff and focus on process: A truly transcendent experience "starts not with the tea, but with the pot," (opt for Chinese clay) then focuses on the proper temperature and pouring techniques. As for the tea, buy it loose, as you would tomatoes on the vine—that way, "any faults become more visible."

Psychology Today: St. John's Wort: Perk Up Your Tea
Often, sipping a cup of hot tea is enough to take the edge off. But some herbal teas—particularly blends made with St. John's wort or valerian—deliver a bit more in the serenity department.
Improving your mood is just one benefit offered by a unique line of pharmaceutical herbal teas. Called Good Earth Medicinals, they have been proven safe and effective in helping to ease symptoms of the flu, insomnia, tension, colds and indigestion. Based on formulas developed by Swiss herbalist Johannes Kuenzle, they're produced in Europe under standards that are stricter than those in the U.S.—the ingredients are grown to pharmaceutical specifications and the packaging facilities hold a pharmaceutical license.

Dr. Tea: Just Say No To Milk And Two Sugars
Check out this video post from our favorite camellia sinensis-pusher Dr. Tea, on the pros and cons of common tea additives such as milk and sugar. Personally we think that if you have to add something to make it taste better, you're not drinking the right tea. But for those who can’t drink a cup of the the brown stuff without a little milk and sugar, this is well worth a view.
Dr. Tea reveals that adding dairy to your tea may interfere with its antioxidant properties, and suggests using soy or almond milk instead. And those that need a spoonful of sugar to make their tea go down should steer clear of the addictive white powder, and its various artificial substitutes. A healthier option is agave syrup. The honey-like substance, which is derived naturally from the succulent agave plant, sweetens without the deadly sugar high (and subsequent low). My Morning Breakfast! - Nutrition and Health
My Morning Breakfast.
Nutritional Food and Health.
They are indeed very correlated.
I am so blessed for being raised in a family of Nutritionists as my wonderful Mother and Father always practice what they preached.
Quality food it was all around. So I just acquired that notion from them and as a double blessing I have a partner that is also a Nutritionist and Vegetarian so what could I have asked for anything more? Here is one of my favor morning breakfast.
1. Pineapple and you have to eat first than everything else because fruits and alkaline digest in your intestines as other foods digest in your stomach. So eat the fruit first than the other things, that is the rule here.
2. Sorry but I have to have my "caffè latte" and here is how I prepare it:
a. Little less than a 1/4 of low fat milk in the cup. (No Sugar!)
b. When the machine is steaming up make sure you do not burn the coffee in the end as it will give your "latte" a bad taste. I am daily have just one cup of coffee in the morning and that will last me for the whole day. Sometimes I will have another in the late afternoon but only when friends are over and we have some croissants, banana bread or other delicious dessert.
3. Then I will have organic low fat 27 OZ. 765g., vanilla yogurt, that you also can find at Trader Joe's. It is very smooth and tasty.
a. I sprinkling my favor granola cereal 3 berries, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries on top of the yogurt. They are delicious, you can find it at Trader Joe's also 16OZ, 454g.
I try to be moderate with the all three portions and my body energy run just fine until even after lunch time.
But remember, each person have their own blood type and what is good for some is not good for others. That means that eating have a lot to do in knowing your body first. Then pick up the foods that have good nutritional values that are acceptable and good for you.
Have a great and productive day and tell me what you think!
We are so blessed to have food as there are many people all over the world without it and I feel always very concerned about that. My Morning Breakfast. Nutritional Food and Health. They are indeed very correlated. ... more
