20 bands who need to go the f*** away now
OK, we don't necessarily agree with this list, but this article is f***ing hilarious. It goes from #1 ...
"Coldplay
Following the trail blazed by Klaus Nomi, Yanni and John Tesh, this band is what happens when your only records are ELO and latter-career Elton John and you misheard the few good parts of those. Uh, Mr. Paltrow, we know you’re rich and you look like you were rich before you were famous so quit dressing like an updated Artful Dodger. God invented the electric guitar so we didn’t have to listen to stuffy Europhiles saw away on those hideous violins and cellos, but you have forsworn God’s plan for rock ‘n’ roll and now we cast you out. Away."
... to #20:
"The Beatles
The seminal blight on the history of rock-and-roll since their fey little asses came skipping out of whatever grotesquely verdant, throbbing and respiring pod spawned them back in Liverpool. Their second record, With the Beatles (1963), is rife with unabashed emasculations and mal-renderings of milestone R&B hits and signaled the beginning of a decade of serial brazen mockery, especially with their injustice to Barrett Strong’s “Money (That’s What I Want).” The Beatles were to rock-n-roll what Enron was to the working man. They were arrogant, elitist, dilettantes who–even though now diminished by half–just won’t go away. Well boys, the Devil’s here and he’s got a past due notice for what’s left of your hollow, wheezy souls. Once and for all, Go Away!"

Huge thank you to Eddie Vedder and Phil Ochs.
So many groups, making up 25% of U.S. now, will survive the politi-fallouts but, in my humble opinion, still have no clue.
Maybe some have trouble creating solutions outside the gates of doubts and faith.
Or they're working reaaaaaal hard not to know.
Just trying to connect with those folks, nah mean?
Boy oh boy they sure make it hard, those CEO's of laundered faith.
Eight years of random torture fading to a close, day by day.
Maybe "countdown to outta office" counter-billboards; put smiles on us taxpayers!

AT&T Censors Musician's Political Message
Pearl Jam recently brought to light potential censorship by AT&T Blue Room of their latest performance at Lollapalooza. The portions "missing" from their webcast were reported as the result of mistakes in cutting by their content monitor, thought the specific messages contained in the missing portions is quite worrisome.
According to Eddie V., during the performance of "Daughter" the following lyrics were cut from the webcast:
- "George Bush, leave this world alone." (the second time it was sung); and
- "George Bush find yourself another home."
Eddie has posted a plea on his website for alerts on other such instances of "missing" / censored performances. Whether this was a bizarre coincidence, or truly intended censorship, either way it raises an important issue - that the days of the FBI chasing Arlo Guthrie, and of music being our most ardent weapon against government action and media censorship of Vietnam war images may not be far behind us. AT&T Censors Pearl Jams Anti-Bush Ad-Libs During Lollapalooza Webcast
"Fans watching Pearl Jams Lollapalooza headlining set on Sunday via AT&Ts live Webcast may have noticed an unexpected silence during the bands politically charged version of Daughter.
" AT&T informed Lollapalooza that portions of the show were in fact missing from the webcast, and that their content monitor had made a mistake in cutting them." During the performance of Daughter the following lyrics were sung to the tune of Pink Floyds Another Brick in the Wall but were cut from the webcast:
- George Bush, leave this world alone. (the second time it was sung); and
- George Bush find yourself another home.
Pearl Jam said the missing footage brings up the bigger issue of Net neutrality, the dispute over whether Internet companies can decide what should and shouldnt be broadcast on their networks.
