Robert Plant DENIES Led Zep Reunion
Singer Robert Plant has ruled out reports that he will embark on a Led Zeppelin reunion tour next year.
A statement posted on his web site says: "Contrary to a spate of recent reports, Robert Plant will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin. Anyone buying tickets online to any such event will be buying bogus tickets."
Plant said, "It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward. I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."
Last week, The Sun published a report claiming that Plant had finally decided to join the other members — Jason Bonham, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page — on a full-fledged reunion tour.
In an August 2008 interview with Jim Johnson and Lynne Woodison of the Detroit rock station 94.7 WCSX, Jason Bonham revealed that he had been meeting up with Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones in recent months and that they'd been "trying to do some new material and writing."
"I've been over [to England] a couple of times," Bonham said. "I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do ... some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something. At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material. When I get there, I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it. Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It's my life. It's what I've dreamed about doing."
He added that was still too early to tell what will become of these "jam" sessions, but admitted that the "possibility of doing something is in the cards. I really felt it was in the cards from the moment we walked offstage at the [Led Zeppelin reunion concert at] O2 [in London in December 2007]."
Robert Plant and bluegrass superstar Alison Krauss are currently touring the USA on the last leg of their "Raising Sand" tour. They played a benefit concert in Oklahoma City for victims of Hurricane Ike last Friday; Austin, Texas last Saturday and tomorrow they play Portland, Oregon before finishing the tour in Saratoga, California on October 5.
After those dates, Robert has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years, according to a statement posted on his web site. Singer Robert Plant has ruled out reports that he will embark on a Led Zeppelin reunion tour next year. ... more -
AC/DC Claim Their Albums Have Sold Better Without iTunes
AC/DC guitarist Angus Young has insisted that albums from the bands back-catalogue have sold better without the help of Apple's online music store iTunes.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Young said they would continue their boycott of the service for as long as they refused to allow artists to lock their albums.
The store, which has been credited with reforming the way people buy music, allows users to download individual songs from albums, as well as the full release.
"We don't make singles, we make albums," Young told the newspaper. "We honestly believe the songs on any of our albums belong together.
"If we were on iTunes, we know a certain percentage of people would only download two or three songs from the album - and we don't think that represents us musically."
He added: "We've actually increased our back catalogue sales without being on the site, and at the time we were sternly warned by our management team and our record label that the complete opposite would be the case."
Young claimed that the band's resistance to iTunes had attracted the attention of two major acts who were also concerned about their music. He refused to name either band.
Earlier this year, Elbow frontman Guy Garvey also voiced his displeasure with the online store.
He told Gigwise that Apple must allow artists to lock their releases or face the album "dying as an art form". AC/DC guitarist Angus Young has insisted that albums from the bands back-catalogue have sold better without the help of Apple's o... more -

Snake Eyes' Silent Introduction
So, they revealed the Snake Eyes costume that Ray Park will don in the upcoming film...it looks spot on when referencing the second generation version of the figure.
However, the photos of Scarlett that have surfaced seem to spell trouble. (Well, trouble in context to a soon-to-be loathed adaptation of an 80's cartoon). Looks like the costume design for all of the Joe's will be tailored to Snake Eye's black spandex getup. This reminds me of the revamping of X-Men into black clad heroes...because they're cooler that way. Taxi cab classics
This weekend I've been spending a lot of time in taxis. Journeying in a taxi is like being in a time machine, taking you back to a time when all music was well-crafted and inoffensive. You know the feeling. You collapse into a taxi after a night out, to be greeted with soft rock mush from Magic FM, that somehow fills your ears with pleasure. Favourite guilty pleasures? Rape of Love
Not wanting to be outdone by his band mate Brett Michaels, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett has finally found himself back in the spotlight. Only this time, its not in the best light. Rockett was arrested yesterday in Los Angeles on an outstanding warrant for allegedly raping someone in Mississippi. As shocking as it may be that a person wouldn’t want to have consensual sex with this aging, so-very-awesomely-named drummer for an 80’s hair band, Rikki Rapestt deserves whatever punishment is headed his way, if for no other reason than my having to look at this photo and imagine the nightmare scenario of him trying to drunkenly thrust himself upon somebody whilst slurring, “Come on, honey! I did the beats for ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’.” Not wanting to be outdone by his band mate Brett Michaels, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett has finally found himself back in the spotligh... more

Bizarre Love Pentagram: "No Remorse" (Episode 2)
This is a censored version of a final visual edit for episode 2 of my feature length directorial debut "Bizarre Love Pentagram." This scene is a flashback account of a moment in 1984. Shot in my own kitchen and backyard in 2007, we changed everything in the set to resemble a typical home in the Sunset District of the 80's, from the cookware and telephone to the records and typical clothes. We did, however, do some motion graphic compositing to hide the Pokemon artwork (of the 90's). We simply replaced it with a Voltes 5 picture (of the late 70's). The sound is incomplete and the music is not cleared. The censored cussing and blackouts of nudity were necessitated in order to post it places.
This scene is a flashback of a main character, Venom, when he was 12 and his sister, Taj Mahal, 14. This is the day she reveals to him a letter from their excommunicated dad hidden by their mom, Florenzia. He wants them all to come back but their mom, never stating her reason, refused. This day was also a major turning point for Venom when his sister introduces him to Motorhead.
Actors: Anita Argent (Florenzia), Kai Steele Smith (Venom), Tiffany Schmitz (Taj Mahal)
Assistant Camera: Chris Golden
Location Sound: Nathan Fritz
Set/Props: Myself, "Riel", and Tim Schmitz
Styling: Myself and Anita Argent
Compositing: Mark Rollins III
Music: 1) Frank Sinatra "That's Life"; 2) Aimee Mann "Video" (original score coming soon)
