    • Rachel Maddow Countdown: Mccain liar,Lying!

George W. lied during his campaign! Hes not a Compassionate Conservative, hes a Conservative who lacks compassion. Facts matter, lies matter! Trust is an issue, which should not be ignored! Can we trust a person who lies during the campaign, to stop lying if they become President? If history has taught us anything, its lies matter! Dirty politics is not leadership, it illustrates what one would do as leader. Ignoring facts and using lies to spin distorted facts is wrong for America! Thats not leadership!

Its time to clean up government! Not more of the same! Accountability has been lacking for eight years, can we afford four more years?

    • Are you more likely to lie in an email?

People are more likely to lie in an email as opposed to handwritten communication, research suggests.

In tests carried out at US universities, students were given $89 (£50) and told to split it with somebody they didn't know and who was unaware of the total amount of money. Ninety-two per cent of the students who arranged the division of the money by email were found to have lied about the total. Among those dividing it via handwritten note, 64 per cent were dishonest.

The report, titled Being Honest Online, found that typically, students told their correspondent that they were dividing the the pot equally, but pretended that the amount of money was smaller than $89. On average, those emailing gave their partner $29 (£16) and kept $60 (£34) for themselves. Those negotiating by handwritten note handed over $34 (£19) and pocketed $55 (£31).

Terri Kurtzberg, an associate professor at Rutgers Business School, New Jersey, told The Guardian: "People seem to feel more justified in acting in self-serving ways when typing as opposed to writing,"

Liuba Belkin, an assistant professor at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, and another of the report's authors, said: "There is a growing concern in the workplace over email communications, and it comes down to trust. You're not afforded the luxury of seeing non-verbal and behavioural cues over email, and in an organisational context that leaves a lot of room for misinterpretation and - as we saw in our study - intentional deception."

So, the question is, are you really more likely to lie in an email?

    • Study shows people are more prone to lie in email

A study shows that people feel that lying through email is justified, deeming email as perhaps one of the most deceptive forms of communication more so than handwritten notes.

Perhaps its the disconnection of the digital interface, not having to see a face, and not use your physical handwriting, what do you think?

    • Palin: wrong woman, wrong message - Los Angeles Times

The Republicans are trying their same old mean spirited tactics to use distraction from the real issues. The real issues should not be guns, abortion, war, drilling for oil- they should be what the Dem. are talking about- education, environment, ending the war, international affairs, health care, and the economy- why can't people see these issues? Because Palin is not intended to be a candidate for people who know anything. She is "one of us" for the vast mass of anti-intellectual know nothings who vote on the basis of a sound bite or two. Picking her was a brilliant play. One can only hope she will acquire fewer fans than the Piglicans are counting on.

Unfortunately, many people will not be astute enough to realize or investigate Palin's views and values. Barak's message is still, essentially, Hilary's message. Sarah Palin's platform couldn't be much further from what the Democrats espouse. Surely people won't jump ship just to have a woman in office. I wish this article could be on everyone's "mandatory reading" list.

    • McCain lying like a rug- McCain ad slams Obama, Senate Democrats on immigration

I hop that by now most Hispanics know the GOP has welded itself to the xenophobes and racists and this latest McCain trickery is just a ploy, cynically planning on Hispanic voters not to use Google to check the real facts.

McCain flip flopped on immigration and everyone knows it. McCain now says that he'd vote against his own bill! Where are all the 2004 "flip-flop" chants now!?

    • Krugman: The McCain camp is telling lies worse than The Bush Administration

Did you hear about how Barack Obama wants to have sex education in kindergarten, and called Sarah Palin a pig? Did you hear about how Ms. Palin told Congress, “Thanks, but no thanks” when it wanted to buy Alaska a Bridge to Nowhere?

These stories have two things in common: they’re all claims recently made by the McCain campaign — and they’re all out-and-out lies.

Dishonesty is nothing new in politics. I spent much of 2000 — my first year at The Times — trying to alert readers to the blatant dishonesty of the Bush campaign’s claims about taxes, spending and Social Security.

But I can’t think of any precedent, at least in America, for the blizzard of lies since the Republican convention. The Bush campaign’s lies in 2000 were artful — you needed some grasp of arithmetic to realize that you were being conned. This year, however, the McCain campaign keeps making assertions that anyone with an Internet connection can disprove in a minute, and repeating these assertions over and over again...

Hillary has become especially hard to take because she can’t get what she wants without lying a lot, and nobody any longer believes a thing she says. It would help were she as good a liar as her nominal husband is, but even Bill Clinton can’t lie like a Clinton any longer. Even the price of Clintons in China has gone through the floor. "No one on this Earth is going to block a shot on the O'Reilly Factor." - Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Loofah again proves why he can be the only guardian of the "No Spin Zone".

Excuse me but I need to look for my air sickness bag.

It is almost too incredible to believe that The FAUX "News" Channel would put some of the stuff in this film on the air but here they are, fully exposed, in this short clip showing their anchors sniping and lying about Obama. FAUX is undeniably the most dishonest.network in broadcast television. For them to be able to use the slogan "Fair and Balanced" is one of the most egregious court decisions in civil law. Additionally, for them to add the slogan "We report, You decide" makes me want to hurl my dinner. It should be "We make up lies, You see if you can catch us before we edit the transcript."

While I am an Edwards supporter at this point, I congratulate Obama on continuing to keep FAUX from ambushing him. Perhaps if O'Loofah had just warmed him up with a little phone foreplay.....
