Worlds most distant webcam goes live on MARS
The camera is not a scientific one: in other words, data from it are not easily measurable to the precision needed for scientific analysis, but it does provide spectacular views of Mars, and can be used to monitor weather and other changes on the planet. And the view shows something we never can see from Earth: a crescent Mars, with the Sun peeking over the limb (you need to have Mars between you and the Sun to see this, and Earth is always closer to the Sun than Mars). There are also animations of Mars rotating, and weather patterns changing. Totally awesome.
And the Mars Express folks want more eyeballs! They made this request:

Dutch webcam Peeping Tom gets jail term
A Dutch court has sentenced a man who used computer virus to gain control of webcams to spy on young girls to two and a half years in jail.
HAARLEM - A court in Haarlem has sentenced a man to two and a half years' imprisonment for using a computer virus to gain control of webcams to spy on young girls. One year of the term was suspended for three years.
The 22-year-old man from Culemborg in the centre of the Netherlands used his secret recordings to blackmail the girls, making them send him nude photos of themselves.
He was found guilty of breach of the peace using computers and possession of child pornography. Eight of his 10 victims ended up pressing charges against him. I don't know why you Get So Mad!
Please come and check out my video where I will perform for you a song on my piano. This is the first time that I am making a "web cam" video. I tried to do a little bit with the sound to improve the original quality that I got from the Web Cam.
This song is about anger and people pleasing. It is about relationships that don't work because the people in it aren't even in touch with their true feelings.
I can't tell you about how many times I see people locked into a dialectic of anger and self depreciation. They are complete naysayers all the time, and once in a while someone will go out of their way to try to bring them a smile and some love. Sometimes that love becomes unappreciated and the person rages on the giver of love to such an extent that the two get locked into a toxic pseudo relationship based on fear of loss and forced intimacy.
It is codependency that becomes the addiction that perpetuates the merry go round.
My dear friend Penny and I wrote this song many years ago because at the time we were living through a chaotic time in our lives and this song was the expression of the pain we went through. It searches for the reasons people get so mad and the people that try to make them glad.

America’s First Online Townhall Debate
A little shameless promotion here! I wrote a review of our nation's first offical eTown Hall debate held by Texan representative John Culberson. A momentous event--a small step for one Texan official, one big step for America!
"I spent the last hour or two on America’s first online town hall debate, as John Culberson put it. .. here follows my review for those of you who didn’t get to attend such a cool event. Culberson stayed on a live, streaming webcam and took calls from various people in Texas, answering questions and speaking to them. This part of the town hall debate was really great–a representative speaking to the people instead of giving them speeches. While I disagreed with him on several things, the idea and execution was great–John Culberson came off as a sane, intelligent conservative who really believes what he stands for, even if I don’t agree with most of his policies."

Wanna be a video star? Who needs a webcam, anyway...
I hear this all the time, "I want to webcam comments, but I don't have a webcam."
Truth is, a webcam is just a dedicated camera for uploading short videos. Any camera will serve the same purpose -- even your digital still camera can do the trick if it has a video mode.
Sure, it's one extra step. You have to record your video, then copy it to your desktop, and then upload it. Webcams roll all of that into one step, but it can still be done. As Duncan points out in his post, even many pro live streamers use a pro camera or an old digital camcorder to do this sort of thing.
But that's just the basics. He also covers everything from streaming to distribution, while tossing in some interesting software suggestions.

London, Feb 9 : Internet porn magnates are advertising in a Jobcentre for unemployed women to strip and talk dirty on the web, to satisfy pervert customers.
The ad, offering wages of 10 pounds an hour, is available in the Jobcentre in Clapham, where job seekers use touch-screen computers to search for work.
The advert attempts to recruit women to strip off online using webcams that can be set up in their own homes to broadcast images across the world to clients paying for the privilege.
The Jobcentre advertised the position this week, stating that the job “may cause embarrassment to some people”.
