Perfect Lego Mac Pro is two computers in one
"At first sight, this looked like a perfect working reproduction of a Mac Pro made of Lego, so I was ready to call it the best Lego computer in the history of best Lego computers. Then, when I learnt that it houses one full PC running Mac OS X and a Mac Mini, I felt something happening, this tingling sensation, this turgidity that made me feel a bit dizzy. And when I finally saw the Steve Jobs minifig standing there and took a closer look at it, nerdgasm finally ensued ..." [More at link]. NY boy a first-prize winner in Lego contest
"A local boy's futuristic Lego creation was recently honored by the company after a nationwide contest.
Bowen "Bo" Christopher's Lego creation, BOBOT, was a first-place award winner in a company-sponsored contest to find the best 6-to-13-year-old Lego builder in the United States.
Bo's mother, Anni Lorenzini, said Bo received a letter recently saying he was one of just four first-prize winners.
"I was in the barn. Bo said, "I won. I can't believe I won,'" she said. "It was very exciting."
The company's challenge to contestants was to build the hot new gadget that everyone will want 50 years from now, using pieces from their own Lego collection.
Bo, who will enter the eighth grade at Seton Catholic Central School this fall, said entries had to be submitted by July 1. It had to include a picture of his BOBOT and a essay.
In the essay, Bo described his creation as a bio-tech robot made from plant-based plastics and recycled metal. The humanoid robot is solar-powered and can also forage for decaying plant matter for use as bio-fuel if there's not enough sunlight.
He said the BOBOT was designed to enter disaster areas when they were still unsafe for humans. It contains a double artificial brain and ultra-stimulus nervous system.
His robot is a retired rescue robot now being used to help a family by fixing and rebooting their technological gadgets, he said, "which many adults don't understand."
He said the robot won't malfunction because of a revolutionary debugging device that prevents viruses. It has the ability to understand and react appropriately to all human emotions and understands all languages." Radiohead's House Of Cards In LEGO Form! - Geekologie
Remember Radiohead's House of Cards video that was shot with lasers instead of cameras and then all the data was made available to everyone to do whatever they wanted to with it? Well Ian Mackinnon took that data and rendered the video in 3D using LEGOs. Wicked! I embedded the video in high-quality because the low-quality one was looking kind of blurry, but it's still not super. But hey, we work with what we're given, don't we? You wouldn't ask someone you allegedly love to use a pump, would you? No, because you respect what they were given. Even if they are 26 cards short of a deck. HIYO -- card tie-in! Remember Radiohead's House of Cards video that was shot with lasers instead of cameras and then all the data was made available t... more

“At first I thought it would be a complicated procedure to fit the pieces. But as it turned out, the bigger plastic pieces were compatible with the smaller ones, and the Lego held itself in place without any glue whatsoever."
