Ronaldinho to sign for AC Milan
Manchester City have lost out to Italian side AC Milan in the race to sign Barcelona playmaker Ronaldinho.
Milan will pay Spanish side Barcelona just £14.6m for his services, with the figure likely to be increased by performance-related bonuses.
The two-time Fifa World Player of the Year's time at Barcelona effectively came to an end in June when new manager Pep Guardiola announced the playmaker was surplus to requirements.
Ronaldinho helped Barcelona win back-to-back Spanish league titles (2004-05, 2005-06) and the Champions League in 2006, but failed to cement a regular place in the starting XI last season because of injury and fitness issues.

Like A Local
Like A Local reflects the desire for a new group of upwardly mobile, young, hip travelers to get a different experience when visiting new cities. Rather than offer the typical cheesy, tour bus experience, Like A Local (started by three young Dutch girls two years ago) hooks clients up with cool, young knowledgeable locals in any of the cities they service (there are about 20 now, NYC, London, Barcelona, Amsterdam, etc). Basically, you can log on to the site and within minutes you can literally line up and RENT a local to hang out with in a given city. Our pod follows Maru and Dirk, a young couple who live in the Gracia district of Barcelona as they host a young Milwaukee couple who wants to see a cooler side of Barcelona. Sociedad Anónima
Short documentary profiling the story of Juan and Fernando in Barcelona, Spain. Basically it’s about the homeless issue. Juan is a crippled ex-construction worker from Andalusia and Fernando is a Cuban struggling to get his residency papers. Sorry no English subtitles. En español.
Juan está en la calle desde hace ocho años. Lo acompaña su perro, vive de limosnas y hace “horario comercial”. Hace poco más de un año, Raymond salió de su trabajo. Empezó a caminar. Esa noche durmió en la calle. Desde entonces, vive en ella. Fernando es cubano. Vivió dos años en la calle a la espera de sus papeles legales. Reunimos a estos tres personajes frente a un televisor para enseñarles sus retratos.

Spanish ships bring water to Barcelona due to drought
A tanker loaded with enough water fill about "8 Olympic sized pools" will be in operation for more that 3 months to provide water for more than 5.5 million people, contributing to 6% of their daily consumption of water.
This has been one of Barcelona's worst droughts in over 60 years. City fountains and showers at beaches have been turned off, lawns can't be watered, and pools must be filled with recycled water.
The article quotes the federation's secretary general Miguel Angel Fraile saying, "You can understand a boat bringing water to an island, but not to a continent."

Stupidity: A Guide To Safer Subway Surfing
The phenomenon of (always) stupid (usually) young men—often bored graffiti writers from the outer boroughs—surfing on the outside of subway cars has been admirably covered by the New York media. It's one of those evergreen, slice of life stories that publications can recycle every few years, as events warrant. Every so often, somebody dies riding on top of train, and the populace of the city remarks to itself, "My, how stupid. And possibly tragic."
And the, um, "sport "isn't confined to America. Not by a long shot! The phenomenon of (always) stupid (usually) young men—often bored graffiti writers from the outer boroughs—surfing on the outside of s... more -
