    • Begala: McCain sat on board of racist group

NBC's Tom Brokaw talked to Paul Begala about how the McCain campaign is attacking Barack Obama's association with William Ayers, who was a member of the Weather Underground.

Brokaw played a clip of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin criticizing Obama's connection to Ayers by referencing a New York Times article published on the subject.

After pointing out that Obama was eight years old when Ayers' planned the attacks, Begala believes "guilt by association" attacks are dangerous territory for McCain.

Begala said, "This guilt by association path is going to be trouble ultimately for the McCain campaign. You can go back -- I have written a book about the candidate. A dozen researchers go through him. I didn't even put this in the book. John McCain sat on a baord.

"It was the U.S. Council for World Freedom. It was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub who wound up involved in the Iran Contra scandal. It was an ultra conservative right-wing group.

"The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981 when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League, the parent organization which ADL said had increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racist and anti-Semites."

    • RFK: 'What we need in the United States'

It's interesting and incredibly 'coincidental' that seven hundred billion dollars is what the US spends annually on oil. Having made that point last week, Robert F. Kennedy Jr dropped by NBC to promote his book: Robert Smalls: The Boat Theif", the story of an African-American Civil War hero.

At the outset of the interview, Matt Lauer demonstrated why big media continues to lose the respect of its audience.

As he is quoted on the RFK website, Matt Lauer gushed: "So --I just gotta ask: How's your Dad doing?"

Excuses for Lauer were forthcoming. He had mistaken RFK Jr for Ted Kennedy's son. Though still a gaffe, the excuse might have been credible if Lauer had not already introduced him as "Robert F. Kennedy Jr, the son of former attorney general and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.

According to the Kennedy website, NBC is not alone when it comes to 'keeping their Kennedys straight". ABC News blew it in May when that RFK Jr. was the son of the former President John F. Kennedy. What if he had been? Would ABC have asked: "Well...how's your dad?"

Perhaps some history is in order though there is little hope the MSM will avail themselves of it.

It was upon the death of Dr. Martin Luther King that Robert Kennedy, JFKs younger brother, addressed the issue of what we need in the United States. One can be sure that upon that tragic occasion, Kennedy had not intended to lecture or proselytize. He was not on the stump. He wasn't trying to get any one elected. His intention, I think, was one of consolation in the face of tragic loss. But, in it, is found our nation's only hope. It's about what we need in the United States. It's as true now as it was the night Martin Luther King was murdered in Atlanta.

    • Florida teacher uses 'N' word against Obama

A Florida middle school teacher faced disciplinary action after using the word "nigger" to describe Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, WJHG's Kristy Wolski reported.

The 7th grade teacher, Greg Howard, asked his students what "change" stood for in relation to the Obama campaign and proceeded to write out the acronym "come help a nigger get elected."

The school suspended Howard without pay for 10 days and removed him from his position at the school.

"That shouldn't happen," said Billy Delahunt, an Obama supporter. "Because they're there to learn, they're not there to discriminate."

Jackson County's Deputy School Superintendent confirmed that the teacher used the racial slur in class and that such actions would not be tolerated.

But school officials said Howard has been transferred to Jackson County Adult Education Program, where he will continue to teach.

    • 11 Racist Lies Conservatives Tell to Avoid Blaming Wall Street for the Financial C...

Conservative pundits and politicians have piled onto the excuse like shipwreck victims clinging to a passing log: The real blame for the current economic crisis, conservatives would have you believe, lies not with anything they did, but rather with the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act -- a successful Carter-era program designed to get banks to stop covert discrimination, and encourage them to invest their money in low-income neighborhoods.

It's always easy to tell when the cons are completely lost at sea. The lies get more absurdly preposterous -- and also more transparently self-serving. But when they go so far as to openly and unapologetically latch onto race and class as an excuse for their woes (which this is, at its heart), you know they're taking on water fast -- and scared of going under entirely.

You can hear the conservative commentators burbling this CRA fable from the Wall Street Journal to the National Review; from Rush to YouTube. Neil Cavuto put the essence of the argument right out there on Fox News: "Loaning to minorities and risky folks is a disaster." See! It's all the liberals' fault for insisting on social justice!

Conservatives are twisting the facts beyond the breaking point to support their revisionist history. But don't be fooled: the financial crisis was caused by conservative financial follies and bankers run amok and nothing more. Here are the basic myths they're trying to push about the CRA -- and the facts that will enable you to fire back.

The War on Drugs has become the longest and costliest war in American history. From conservative district court judges to hashish smugglers, from LAPD narcotics officers to the most famous crack kingpin of the 1980's, from actors and doctors to gang members and drug dealers, The Last White Hope casts the Drug War in a new light, one that shows how money, power and greed have corrupted not just dope fiends but an entire government. More importantly, it shows what all of us can do about it!

    • Liberal Gwen Ifill Pro Obama to moderate debate Is this Right?

Gwen Ifill has compromised herself and her employer, the publicly-funded PBS by failing to disclose an obvious conflict of interest. The degree of media bias for the Obama campaign becomes all the more obvious. She has a clear financial interest in the outcome of the presidential election, through her authorship of a book on Obama to be published Inauguration Day.

Urgent Agenda's William Katz reminds us:

Clearly, that book is vastly more valuable if Obama wins. In addition, Ifill's behavior on the air in covering Sarah Palin's acceptance speech at the GOP convention was the subject of complaints to the PBS ombudsman.

I've looked at Ifill's work for years. An objective reporter she is not. I recall that, after radical leftist Cynthia McKinney lost the Democratic nomination for her congressional seat one year, Ifill went on the air, two nights in a row, to talk about "groups," read that Jews, who financed her opponent. She never once mentioned that McKinney had been heavily financed by Muslim groups. She's that kind of "reporter."

    • Gwen Ifill has book pro Obama to be released on inauguration day...say What!

Today we learned that Gwen Ifill, the moderator of Vice Presidential debate set for Thursday night is in the process of writing a pro-Obama book. The book, "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama," is a gushing profile of Obama and other African American leaders. It is set to be released on Inauguration Day. This book is nothing new for Ifill, who has been quoted numerous times in the past praising Obama.

Now that this book has been uncovered, how can Ifill possibly serve as an unbiased moderator? It seems that she has a preference and should not be moderating any national debate. Ifill's conduct during the debate will be rightly questioned. This is just another reason to suspect that the Presidential Debate Commission is just a tool of the Democratic Party.

Not only is Ifill pro-Obama, she seems to be anti-Palin. There have also been complaints about her coverage of Palin on PBS. Some viewers thought that she gave a "dismissive" look when reporting on Palin's speech to the Republican National Convention. Another complaint dealt with her look of "disgust" during a Palin report. Contrast her disgusted view of Palin with her overflowing praise of Obama in her upcoming book.

The only responsible action now is for Ifill to be removed as moderator of this debate. Of course this will not happen because all of these debates are stacked against the Republican candidates.

Another option would be for a more conservative moderator to co-host the debate with her. Although the problem with that idea is that, other than Fox News, there are very few conservative journalists on the national stage.

This new information just reinforces the well known and accurate impression that voters have of the national news media. In general, the media supports liberalism and Democratic candidates and obviously Gwen Ifill is no exception to that rule.

On Friday, September 26, the end of a week in which thousands of copies of Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West -- the fear-mongering, anti-Muslim documentary being distributed by the millions in swing states via DVDs inserted in major newspapers and through the U.S. mail -- were distributed by mail in Ohio, a "chemical irritant" was sprayed through a window of the Islamic Society of Greater Dayton, where 300 people were gathered for a Ramadan prayer service.

The room that the chemical was sprayed into was the room where babies and children were being kept while their mothers were engaged in prayers.

'Will having the most votes actually mean something? That was the debate between Bill Maher and Chris Rock (see video clip) on the last 'Real Time.'

Rocks zinger -- (on who won-the-debates) -- sums up the racial pink elephant sitting over on side lines: 'You can't beat white people, you can only knock them out...'

'Given the past week, the debate should have been a cinch for Obama.' says Maureen Dowd. 'It’s not a lecture hall; it’s a joust. It’s not how cerebral you are. It’s how visceral you are...'

Dowd adds -- 'Even when McCain sneered, I don’t need any on-the-job training, I’m ready to go at it right now, Obama didn’t directly respond, but veered off into a story about his father being from Kenya and how he got his name. (Thanks, Barack, we got that from your book. It’s great for a memoir, but not a debate.)'

Could Obama actually be holding back the big-guns for an October surprise; or, as this aritcle suggests, does he suffer from a touch of that delusional disorder -- (that me, me, me, arrogance) -- so much so, that he's not in touch with what's going on around him??

'Grandiosity is also, more than anything else, what characterizes narcissism, and Obama's narcissism has become obvious to many,' suggests the American Thinker.

Which refers to Obama's posturing as -- 'a self-absorbed narcissist who portrays himself as a political messiah -- the anointed one.'

'Summing up Obama's entire campaign as -- 'nothing more than a demand to be recognized as superior without commensurate accomplishments: has there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?'

Not sure if I buy into the whole narcissist-angle. I mean wasn't Jesus Christ the ultimate narcissist? -- Telling people he was the only way to heaven. And look at all the good he left behind.

'I kinda think anyone spouting real change has to be a bit of narcissist to evoke others to get off their collective fat-asses.

    • Malkin Blames Latinos for Mortgage Crisis

Conservatives like Malkin will go to the ends of the earth to blame brown people for all the problems in the world.

It’s no coincidence that most of the areas hardest hit by the foreclosure wave - Loudoun County, Va., California’s Inland Empire, Stockton and San Joaquin Valley, and Las Vegas and Phoenix, for starters - also happen to be some of the nation’s largest illegal-alien sanctuaries. Half of the mortgages to Hispanics are subprime (the accursed species of loan to borrowers with the shadiest credit histories). A quarter of all those subprime loans are in default and foreclosure.

Regional reports across the country have decried the subprime meltdown’s impact on illegal-immigrant “victims.” A July report showed that in seven of the ten metro areas with the highest foreclosure rates, Hispanics represented at least one third of the population; in two of those areas - Merced and Salinas-Monterey, Calif. - Hispanics comprised half the population. The amnesty-promoting National Council of La Raza and its Development Fund have received millions in federal funds to “counsel” their constituents on obtaining mortgages with little to no money down; the group almost succeeded in attaching a $10-million earmark for itself in one of the housing bills past this spring…
