Woman Clothed in the Sun, Standing on the Moon, with Twelve Stars on her Head
This is called the Panecillo. It is a little hill overlooking the city of Quito, Ecuador. It is a statue that many have mistakenly, throughout the internet, identified this woman as the Virgin Mary, or some kind of Madonna. She is none other that the woman from Revelations 12. There is a bronze placard on the statue that states just that.
Take a look at the close up image below and you will see that she is exactly as the woman is described in the famous biblical verses from Revelation.

Correa to quit if FARC ties proved
Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa has said that he would resign if there is proof of his ties to the Colombian rebel group FARC.
The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, FARC, is a self-proclaimed Marxist-Leninist guerilla organization considered a terrorist group by the Colombian government, the US, Canada and the EU.
Correa said in his weekly radio address on Saturday, "If I had the most minimal relation with the FARC as candidate or as president I will resign as president. We have never received illegal (campaign) contributions."
Correa added that he gave proof of his innocence to the Organization of American States amid accusations that he had received money contributions from FARC rebels during his presidential campaign in 2006. Chavez: Interpol report a 'clown show'
Colombia did not alter computer files that it claims show Venezuelan support for a leftist rebel group, the international police organization Interpol said Thursday.
But Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez dismissed the findings from an Interpol report as "a clown show" and ridiculed Interpol secretary general Ronald Noble as "a tremendous actor."
Chavez issued the statement after Interpol concluded that Colombia did not modify computer files that were seized during a raid of a leftist rebel camp in March.
The items were seized during Colombia's March 1 raid on a rebel camp in Ecuador occupied by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC. The raid killed 25 people, including Raul Reyes, second-in-command of FARC, who is thought to have owned the files.
Colombian President Alvaro Uribe says the files contain evidence that Venezuela and Ecuador were supporting the rebels.

Life, Liberty And The Pursuit Of Orgasms: Politician Calls For New South Of The Bo...
"Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" are the big three inalienable rights set out in our Declaration of Independence, but a female politician in South America is hoping to improve things south of the border for her fellow countrywomen, in more ways than one.
Ms Soledad Vela, a member of Ecuador's ruling party, is proposing that women should have the right "to enjoy sex in a free, fair and more open society" under the country's new constitution, which she is currently helping draft.
Not surprisingly, the measure is not popular in all quarters. One male politician called Ms Vela's proposal "ridiculous," another accused her of trying to enact “orgasms by law.” Ms Vela maintains she is just trying to ensure a better distribution of wealth and rights. Sounds fair to us.

Fifteen people have been killed in Ecuador's capital, Quito, after flames started by fireworks swept through a nightclub last night. Around 45 people were injured.
The fire was apparently set off by a pyrotechnics show gone wrong during the concert attended by hundreds of people at the Factory.
People were trapped inside as "the exit doors were closed and padlocked", Jaime Benalcazar, Quito's fire chief, said. Officials removed 14 "completely burned" bodies. Colombian President accuses Ecuador of FARC ties
Alvaro Uribe has accused the President of Ecuador of receiving support from the notorious Colombian rebel group FARC in his election campaign.
Speaking at a Rio Group summit in the Dominican Republic, Uribe claimed a letter that was seized during last week's raid on FARC rebels includes evidence that proves their alleged links.
The allegations come following escalating tension between Venezuela, Ecuador and Colombia, which has reportedly seen another FARC rebel leader killed following last weeks killing of Paul Reyes in Ecuador.
Colombian officials still defend their offensive attack, with the president also accusing Venezuela of financing and supporting the FARC - a charged which has been denied.

Chavez and Correa get Colombian denouncement
The Colombian President Alvaro Uribe has said today that he is to denounce Venezuela's Hugo Chavez in an international court after Venezuela and Ecuador both cut diplomatic ties with Bogota, which was followed by their troops being ordered to their neighbour's frontier.
Both Chavez and Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa have been accused as having allegiances with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or FARC guerrillas by Colombia, accusations that were triggered by a Colombian raid that killed a top guerilla boss.
The Colombian President spoke out on his country's actions, saying:

Chavez Warns of War With Colombia
Venezuela and Ecuador ordered troops to their borders with Colombia, sharply raising tensions after Colombia killed a top rebel leader on Ecuadorean soil.
President Hugo Chavez on Sunday promised Venezuela would respond militarily if Colombia violates its border, where he ordered tanks as well as thousands of troops. He also ordered closed Venezuela's embassy in Bogota.
Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa said he deployed troops to the border while also withdrawing his government's ambassador from Bogota and expelling Colombia's top diplomat.
"There is no justification," Correa said Sunday night, snubbing an earlier announcement from Colombia that it would apologize for the military incursion.
Chavez called the killing of rebel leader and spokesman Raul Reyes and 16 other guerrillas on Saturday an attack by a "terrorist state," saying it shows Colombian President Alvaro Uribe is a "criminal." Venezuela and Ecuador cut ties with Colombia
The diplomatic spat between Colombia and its neighbours has deepened, as Venezuela ordered the immediate removal of Colombia's ambassador and embassy officials from Caracas. This followed Ecuador's move that cut off diplomatic ties with Colombia after a raid on a FARC rebel base inside Ecuador which left FARC leader Paul Reyes and several others dead. Venezuela and Ecuador have had their tanks in position on the Colombian border since the raid.
The tensions were sparked when a Colombia reportedly found documents in a rebel camp that showed Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez as donating $300 million to FARC and also tied Ecuador's president Rafael Correa with Paul Reyes. Both countries feel that Colombia's raid on foreign soil was unjust and a violation of Ecuador's sovereignty.
With that being said, do you think that Chavez should get involved in what some might see as an issue involving only Colombia and Ecuador? The diplomatic spat between Colombia and its neighbours has deepened, as Venezuela ordered the immediate removal of Colombia's ambassa... more -

Geneticists discover way to extend lifespans to 800 years
"Scientists at the University of Southern California have extended the lifespan of yeast bacteria tenfold -- and the recipe they used to do it might easily translate into humans. It involves tinkering with two genes, and cutting down your calorie intake. Tests have already started on people in Ecuador."
Interesting research.

Chevron sued for $12 Billion
Ecuadorian Cofan Indians are suing Chevron for the destruction of the Amazon River, and the jungle their ancestors inhabited for thousands of years. Cancer and other oil related diseases plague the Cofan Indians, diseases that were not as prevalent before Chevron traded land for cheese in the early 1970s. Hundreds of oil pits interrupt the jungle floor while Cofan children unwittingly swim in them.
The Cofans suit will likely become an international foreign affairs extravaganza. Chevron has powerful friends in Washington. Condoleezza Rice served on Chevron's board for 10 years. They named an oil tanker after her. Ecuador on the other hand, has strong political ties with Venezuela and Hugo Chavez. Together they told the United States to remove it's military base from Ecuador.
Meanwhile, the Cofans must prove the increased rate of Cancer is caused by Chevron. A task that should not be too hard based on the riveting images in this Democracy Now! video report.
