Totally Free Lessons In Cool - Part 2
Easily the greatest moment I've had while out at night in San Francisco was when this one deejay mixed the instrumental to The Clash's "Magnificent Seven" into his set.
Little known fact: House music, which as most music purists know, originated in Chicago. Wait - there's more: Patronized by a largely Black/gay demographic, 'House' in its inception was mainly a seamless mix of rare disco throwaways, James Brown joints - and also everything from "Miss You" by The Rolling Stones to "Rock Lobster" by the B-52's----to, yes, "The Magnificent Seven" by The Clash. This joint made people on the dancefloor lose it---that bassline? Damn.
