Spanish protesters: "Bulls die a bloody death in Pamplona"
The annual running of the bulls begins in Pamplona today and animal protesters have invaded Spanish bullrings.
Campaigners claim that this truculent and sanguinary sport is no longer followed by the general public (a recent poll found that 72 per cent of Spaniards have no interest in bullfights).
PETA and other groups hope to mobilise their compatriots and obtain the abolition of tauromachy.

Spanish pop star gets naked for bulls
Spanish pop star Alaska has launched a campaign with AnimaNaturalis and Britain's People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to protest bullfighting. Alaska in her poster poses nude with three spears in her back (the spears are fake :)
Alaska said at the presentation of her campaign: "We need to stick some little banderillas (spears used in bullfighting) in the backs of those who think that the bull does not suffer... The Naked Truth: Bullfighting is Cruel."

The Story of Ferdinand (spanish)
The Story of Ferdinand (1936) is the best-known work written by American author Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson . The children's book tells the story of a bull who would rather smell flowers than fight in bullfights.
This is my favorite literary work on bull fighting and I pretty much learned everything I know about bull fighting from this book. Basically, not fighting is better. :)

Spanish State TV Drops Daytime Bullfights
State TV will no longer televise bullfights during hours children may be watching in order to avoid showing kids "behaviour that is dangerous to their health" and "explicitly violent scenes."
