Ikea to sell solar pannels
That's what the Cleantech Group is reporting, based on details of a recent €50 million investment into Ikea's GreenTech fund, used to finance research into consumer solar panels, green building materials, alternative light sources, etc. In the same way that Wal-Mart can basically fart one night and wake up the next morning having changed the face of massive globalized retail, Ikea moving to sell presumably affordable solar gear for everyday users could be a big push to the industry. IKEA to sell GreenTech solar panels
ElectricPig reports that Swedish furniture and homewares giant IKEA are to be stocking solar panels, along with other eco-concious things like water conservation and purification devices and alternative light sources.

IKEA launches cellphone service
Agreed that furniture and home products are all together a different territory but then we cannot just predict the failure of this new avenue considering the number of countries IKEA runs its business in. The expansion is not limited to selling phones; IKEA also plans to set up a virtual-network with bandwith sharing from T-Mobile in the UK to beginwith, the Americans though, would get no pre-paid service plans from IKEA as of now. IKEA Environment Sustainable Lifestyle Ad
Here's my attempt to direct and produce an awareness commercial to promote green and alternative energy, environment sustainable lifestyle and climate change consciousness.
What i tried to communicate is that changing our lifestyle and awareness towards environment and climate change is not sacrifice or disconfort, it's just NATURAL and positive. Also tried to insert everywhere some sort of counter-advertising against commercials that try to lead people to bad habits, bad culture and false desires ... everything in a sort of light and floating fashion.

Just stumbled upon this blog today and love the idea...folks from around the world submit photos/descriptions of the ways they have customized stuff they bought from IKEA to create different kinds of room solutions.
