Vehicles Powered Completely By Air (NO JOKE)
Like never before I need a second opinion... Is this for real?!
(Where is Russell Gehrke when I need him?)
Is it possible to exponentiate energy? This video claims that through various stages of compression technology, energy can be created and not entirely lost..
The CAR is POWERED by .. AIR. (under pressure)
Poof!
~I want to be a believer.
'Although it costs money to create the compressed air, that energy is actually created by, compressed air..'
Geoff Lawton, a permaculture design proffesional, says that 'it's not how much water you have in a system, it's how many times you use that water/energy.. within the system.' And I loosely quote, 'If you have one gallon of water, and you use it once, well then you have one gallon of water.. If you take that one gallon of water, and use it ten times, well then you have ten gallons of water.
Your take? Like never before I need a second opinion... Is this for real?! (Where is Russell Gehrke when I need him?) ... more -

Op Under Hypnosis 'Was Pain Free'
There's no need for her to come round after a general anaesthetic, no nausea as she recovers, because Ms Coady was never put to sleep. She hypnotised herself.
"I didn't feel any pain" said the 67-year-old from Cambridgeshire. "I felt tugging- but that's not pain. I don't have any pain at the moment.
"I was just telling the surgeon, I felt uncomfortable as I had too many pillows! My positioning gave me more problems than the knee!"
There was no trance-like state or deep sleep for Ms Coady - at times during the surgery she even spoke to her surgeon, Ahmed Shair.
It was the third time Mr Shair from the private Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital in Peterborough had operated on her while she was hypnotised.
Ms Coady said her self-hypnosis began as soon as she was told she needed surgery, in this case three weeks ago.
She visualised situations to help her enter a pain-free 'zone'.
"I imagine two blocks of ice on my knee to freeze it and spray the top of my knee and that's all my preparation and I tell myself I won't feel any pain," she said.
"Later on I'm thinking what's happening and visualising the doctor, in my mind's eye I'll be thinking what he's seeing, looking at the tissues, and the tendons.
"I'm telling myself I'm ok, I won't have pain, and that's all there is to it."
Mr Shair assured us Ms Coady's arthroscopy is an extremely painful procedure, involving a number of cuts to the knee.
He admitted he preferred patients to have a general anaesthetic but said he respected her choice.
Ms Coady is now recovering at home. Any post-operative pain is also managed through the power of her mind.
She insisted this was no stunt or illusion - she's a trained hynotherapist who has found her own way to push the boundaries of conventional medicine.

SCI-FI SONGS, the most original and exciting music release in 2008
JASON SERENO IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF SCI-FI SONGS, AN OUT-OF-THIS WORLD DIGITAL MIXTAPE FEATURING FOUR SONGS WITH SCIENCE-FICTION THEMES.
Los Angeles, Calif. - July 1st, 2008 - Singer/Songwriter Jason Sereno has released a concept album that is truly out of this world. SCI-FI SONGS, landing July 1st, 2008 at JasonSereno.com, is a digital mixtape with science-fiction-styled music tied together through a common narrative, inspired by unsuccessful rock operas of 1970s.
Sereno, an acoustically-minded musician with a background in comedy and vaudeville-like performances, thought of the concept after a night of binge drinking.
"I was walking to the bathroom at about 3AM," Sereno hastily recounted. "I couldn't even see straight but this idea popped in my head, so I ran back in the bedroom and asked one of the girls to write it down for me. Thankfully Sharon - or maybe Brenda - listened. For once."
Sereno also enjoys multiple partners in the recording studio, which is why he enlisted the help of longtime friend and fellow axe-wielder T-Dogg for the SCI-FI songwriting process.
"T-Dogg was crucial in the creation of the storylines and lyrics for SCI-FI SONGS," Sereno begrudgingly admitted. "He was the one who suggested we utilize the guitar as the focal point for the album instead of synths and drum machines. Too bad he won't see a dime from the record sales because nothing in our agreement was ever in writing. Dumbass."
Rounding out the group is Cremer, Hollywood 's premier voiceover actor and narrator of the album.
"Cremer's talent is truly unmatched," Sereno fondly recalled. "He added so much to the project that I couldn't imagine SCI-FI SONGS without him, but he won't be receiving any monetary compensation either. Once again - nothing in writing. Duh."
SCI-FI SONGS consists of:
RocketShip Guitar: A boy receives a guitar from his birthday but when he plugs in the instrument it transforms into a rocketship that takes him on an intergalactic journey.
Dimensions: The party started in the first dimension. But things get weirder… er.
TimeTraveler Love Song: A time traveler finds the love us his life… but when he travels back to meet the woman of his dreams he can only speak in Spanglish - an unfortunate side-effect of time travel.
CarPlanes: In the future… there are no cars. There are no planes. There are only CarPlanes.
Cremer's Promos: An incredible assortment of inappropriate radio commercials (bonus track).
Although the recordings are meant to be heard sequentially - at least the first time - Sereno insists every tune is exceptional in its own right because of the combinations of style, substance and tone within each track.
"I’m really friggin' proud of the music we've put together," Sereno boasted. "We have full-on guitar solos, insane effects, gripping lyrics, influences from rock, punk, hip-hop and latin styles, as well as a complete storyline that is far more epic and moving than any post-apocalyptic Kevin Costner film."
Sereno is confident that the SCI-FI SONGS team's hard work will pay off - at least for him - because the album speaks to an untapped audience in today's music market.
"No longer will the nerds of the world be forced to stay home on Friday night to watch reruns of Battlestar Galactica," Sereno proclaimed. "They now have a voice. They have a rhythm in their hearts. They have SCI-FI SONGS." JASON SERENO IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF SCI-FI SONGS, AN OUT-OF-THIS WORLD DIGITAL MIXTAPE FEATURING FOUR SONGS WITH SCIENCE-... more -

way to go Mr.Chris King!!
PORTLAND- Chris King Precision Components is a company that has built its reputation on going above and beyond.
From the first headset he made back in 1976, Chris King has proven that he sets his own standards and then keeps pushing them higher. But what many people don’t know about this privately held company is that King’s high standards go far beyond his products.
Take for instance the company’s approach to encouraging bike commuting. Chris King Precision Components has what might be the most comprehensive and aggressive encouragement program in the country.
Here’s a breakdown of what the company provides to its employees:
* Secure, indoor parking for every employee as well as a dedicated entry way for bikes.
* Contemporary locker room facilities for men and women with private shower stalls and changing areas.
* Full size lockers for every employee. (These lockers were salvaged from an older building and reconfigured with a custom designed ventilation system. Air is constantly circulated and drawn from the lockers to keep clothes and towels dry and smelling fresh.)
* Loaner bicycles, locks and lights available for checkout by any employee.
* Route mapping advice and instruction from our commuting coordinator.
* One-on-one meetings with all new hires to discuss transportation options and commuting strategies.
This past May alone, 81 vacation days were earned as part of the special bike commuter challenge. But employees didn’t just help themselves, their choice to ride instead of drive resulted in (based on 11,468 miles ridden)

Oil company plans first floating wind turbine
OSLO, Norway - An oil company announced plans Thursday to build next year what it claims will be the world's first full-scale floating wind turbine.
State-controlled StatoilHydro ASA, based in the western port of Stavanger, is the key producer in the offshore oil industry that makes Norway a major petroleum exporter.
The company said the $80 million pilot project combines its offshore oil experience with advanced technology for wind power.
The 2.3 megawatt windmill will be placed about six miles off the coast of Karmoey, near Stavanger on the west coast. StatoilHydro said it has already signed contracts for the construction of the wind turbine and its floating base. The electricity will be sent to land through underwater cables.
Previous ocean windmill projects have been based on towers built onto the seabed near land, rather than floating structures. However, windmills on land or near the coast often draw complaints they spoil the view and disturb wildlife.
Since the buoy is held in place by three anchors with chains, the system could be used in waters as deep as 2,300 feet, the company said in a news release.
StatoilHydro said a 10-foot tall model of the floating unit had already been tested in a wave tank at the Norwegian research institute SINTEF in the city of Trondheim.
The company said it plans to conduct a two-year test with the unit after it is goes on line in late 2009 in hopes of demonstrating that floating wind power is commercially viable.

China to start crackdown on plastic bags
BEIJING - Making good on a promise made in January, China is becoming the latest country to ban free plastic bags, part of a government-led campaign to cut down on waste and help the environment.
The nationwide measure that goes into effect Sunday eliminates the flimsiest bags and forces stores to charge for others.
Beijing has promised to hold a green Olympic Games this summer, giving extra impetus to a number of environmental policies and projects. Officials have vowed to cut down on the "white pollution" of discarded bags that choke China's cities, farms and waterways.
The China Plastics Processing Industry Association estimates the measure will reduce the amount of plastic bags used by a third from 1.6 million tons a year. The Chinese now use 3 billion bags every day, according to the group, and they are virtually indestructible, taking years to break down and commonly ending up in China's clogged landfills. In Kansas, one family shows how they favor bikes over the car
Math, bikes and wal-mart trips come together. Lovely
"A little more than a month ago, Sherri Thiessen pulled up to the gas pump and decided she’d had enough. The price per gallon was $3.50, and she was tired of feeling that kind of pain. Sherri Thiessen, shown here with her daughter Sierra, pulled her bike out of the garage about a month ago and since then has saved more than $100 on gas. She and her kids bike for nearly all of her short errands. “Most of the places we go are within a couple of miles,” Thiessen said. “Newton is not that big of a town, and I see people who live closer to the school than me driving.”
Aside from a weekly trip to Wal-Mart or the occasional trip to Wichita, her Saturn stays parked in the garage. “Most of the places we go are within a couple of miles,” Thiessen said. “Newton is not that big of a town, and I see people who live closer to the school than me driving.”
“The scooter gets 80 miles to the gallon,” Thiessen said. “The care gets 20 or less in town. It’s won’t take long to save money. ... My ultimate goal is to get rid of one car.”
“If everyone would do just a little bit, that would be huge,” Thiessen said. “It’s demand that pushes the price of gas up. ... If people would car pool, even just two people, that would cut the expense in half for both of them. ... Or if you could just bike one day a week. We have this mentality that it’s all or nothing. But just start slow".” Math, bikes and wal-mart trips come together. Lovely ... more -
