How does this tournament look?
This playoff bracket could make March Madness look less ridiculously awesome. Although I am not convinced that having a 16 team playoff is the answer doesn't this look like a great way to spend December and the first week of the New Year. AROC certainly thinks so... I dream of the office pools, the rivalries, the cinderellas, etc that only a playoff system can truly bring. I believe that we could still potentially have the same amount of bowl games even with the playoff system. JUST MAKE THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS "BOWL GAMES"!!! ANYWAY OOps (caps lock was on), read the article and write to your senator. Lets get the playoffs started!

What do you think of JD Drew from the Sox?
So the Sox just won Game 6 against the Indians! JD Drew has not had a single hit all season, and then he scores four runs from this one hit. Arizona vs. Colorado Game 1
So this is it. The series to get to THE Series. A battle for the ages or at least another tough week of tempered interest. My money is on Arizona in this game. I just don't forsee anybody getting more than two runs against Brandon Webb or at least not the Colorado Rockies. So my prediction is a 5-2 Arizona win with the D-backs picking up a couple garbage runs in the late part of the game. But hey, who really knows. I didn't think either of these teams would make it past the first round!

Reporter Cries Over Yankees Loss!!!
Suzyn Waldman was unapologetic Tuesday for choking up and sobbing briefly in her report Monday night on WCBS-AM after the Indians knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs. "That's who I am," she said. Five Teams; One Tony Gwynn
3 Sweeps! Good Grief Charlie Brown. For a guy who has watched the NL West all year you'd think that I would've given the D-Backs and Rockies a little more credit. Still it was tough to bet against the line-ups from Chicago and Philli that just didn't come through. In the west we are left with 2 winning losers. 2 teams with good pitching, "timely" hitting and a bunch of guys who would have to pay extra to rent a car because they aren't 25 yet. My choice for the World Series is Arizona. Webb looks unhittable and I think the home field advantage will do them well. This series will be a boring 6 games, with the winner going on to lose the Series. Side note: anybody catch a glimpse of the Massive Human being named Tony Gwynn while watching TBS? This guy was always a power hitter but good lord. He looked like Violet in Charlies Choco Factory after she blew up to gigantic blueberry porportions. Dane Cook + Fox = Lame Commercials
Maybe a few of you have seen some of these commercials that Dane Cook has been doing for Fox. They go something like... "I'm a goofball sellout, There's only one post-season, THERE'S ONLY ONE OCTOBER!" It sounds really lame anyway... check out this video and see why you shouldn't make commercials about a team, lets say the Mets, making it to the playoffs until they actually make the playoffs. October Baseball; Who You Pickin?
So here's my 1st Round Picks Rockies v. PhilliesThe Phillies are hot and won't be beat even by the hotter than hot Rockies. In the end the Phils offense will be too much for the Rockies. Cubs v. D-BagsThe Diamondbacks are favored to win this series but I'm going to take the Chicago Cubs. There is something about Chicago this year that makes me giddy. Plus Lou Pinella paid me to pick the Cubs. Yanks vs. IndiansThis is going to be a great series to watch. The Indians have the best club from Cleaveland since Cerano, Willie Mays-Hays, Wild Thing and Jake Taylor. I'm taking the upset here if you can ever call the Yankees an upset. NY Red Sox vs. AngelsSox. Something about big games and guys like Schilling, Ortiz, Manny, etc that makes it hard to bet against arguably the best team in the land. They've proven it all season. Yankees Making the Playoffs
For some reason there has been a widespread misunderstanding that the Yankees won't make the playoffs this year. This is a false. They will make the playoffs this year whether you like it or not. They have decent enough pitching now and the line-up to get them to where they need to be. If they can't catch up to the Red Sox (something that i think will happen sometime in mid-September) they'll end up winning the wild card. They may go out and get some new players or make some moves to ensure the playoffs will happen but the bottom line is they will be around in October and will be a top contender for the Title.
