Olbermann & Patrick are Reunited
Very possibly the best SportsCenter duo in the history of the network, Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann will once again share the screen thanks to NBC. Bob Costas will host the NFL show that includes Cris Collinsworth, Jerome Bettis, Tiki Barber and Peter King. Can't wait for this. Great times but makes me think of my favorite SportsCenter anchors, teams and hosts. There were many but who's your favorite?

By Michael Hiestand, USA TODAY
Dan Patrick, the longtime ESPN anchor, will this season join NBC's Sunday night NFL studio show – where he'll reunite with Keith Olbermann, his on-air ESPN SportsCenter partner between 1992 and 1997.
Patrick will also join a big cast on a show wrapped around NBC's Sunday primetime game.
He'll be the show's third co-host – along with Olbermann and Cris Collinsworth – on a show hosted by Bob Costas that includes analysts Jerome Bettis, Tiki Barber and reporter Peter King.
Said Olbermann Monday: "My concern is that we didn't have enough people on the show. We really needed that 19th guy."
Patrick, who left ESPN last year and now hosts a syndicated daytime radio show, had a contract that prohibited him TV work until this September. His NBC deal will also include working on NBC's Olympic coverage, starting with the 2010 Winter Games.
Monday, NBC Sports Chairman Dick Ebersol and Patrick both said the idea for Patrick joining the NBC show came from Costas.
Said Patrick: "If Bob didn't sign off on this, there's no way I'd walk into the room." Very possibly the best SportsCenter duo in the history of the network, Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann will once again share the scree... more -

NBC has trouble identifying black people
Amidst a segment on the morning show concerning the omnipresence of Barack Obama, an odd thing happened. When the show got to a segment on Obama's influences, they showed Stevie Wonder and then they mentioned Jay-Z. The only problem is that the picture they showed was not of Jay-Z, it was in fact New Jersey rapper, Joe Buddens.
Joe Buddens doesn't look anything like Jay-Z. Is it so much to ask for a little more attention to detail? This little faux pas of course was overlooked because a large percentage of the Today's Show audience probably wouldn't be able to identify either of them, but the point still remains.
Maybe it was a simple mistake, but it just goes to show how important it is to check the facts, and then check them again... and then check them one more time. After all Jay-Z is as mainstream a figure as they come and Joe Buddens... exactly. Amidst a segment on the morning show concerning the omnipresence of Barack Obama, an odd thing happened. Tim Russert dies at 58
Tim Russert, who became one of America's leading political journalists as the host of NBC's "Meet the Press," died Friday, according to the network. He was 58.
The network said he collapsed at work Friday. He was taken to Washington's Sibley Memorial Hospital where he died, the hospital confirmed.
Colleague and former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw broke the news on the network Friday shortly after 3:40 p.m., saying Russert had just returned from a family vacation in Italy to celebrate the graduation of his son, Luke, from Boston College.
Russert joined the network in 1984 and quickly established himself as the face of the network's political coverage, eventually becoming senior vice president and Washington bureau chief of NBC news.
In 1985, Russert supervised live broadcasts of the "Today" show from Rome, negotiating an appearance by Pope John Paul II -- a first for American television.
Russert, who also served as a political analyst for cable network MSNBC, took the helm of "Meet the Press" in 1991, turning the long-running Sunday-morning interview program into the most-watched show of its kind in the United States.

Tim Russert has died from a heart attack
"Tim Russert, NBC journalist and political heavyweight host of "Meet the Press," has died after collapsing at NBC's Washington news bureau, a source said. He was 58 years old.
Russert, who rose from the inside world of politics where he was former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo's press secretary and one-time chief of staff to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, was able to successfully cross over to political journalism and rise to become one of its leading lights.
In his role as host of the seminal Sunday morning political program "Meet the Press" - which he took over in 1991 - he became renowned for his hard-nosed interviews where he frequently cornered some of Washington's cagiest political figures with tough questions.
Russert joined NBC News in 1984. In April 1985, he supervised the live broadcasts of the Today program from Rome, negotiating and arranging an appearance by Pope John Paul II - a first for American television. In 1986 and 1987 Russert led NBC News weeklong broadcasts from South America, Australia and China.
In 2008, Time Magazine named him one of the world's 100 most influential people."
