Growing Up Identical Twins - Our Side of Joy
Being two among eight children, Michelle and Marlene experienced a unique life of twinship. Our side of joy offers a portrait of the family dynamics of a Cuban family through the eyes of identical twins, Michelle and Marlene Tamayo. Their story offers an in depth look into the unique bond between sisters, siblings, parents, kids, and significant others. What kind of relationship do these sisters have? Where do they see their relationship in the future? In what ways do the twins touch the lives of their siblings and vice versa? What role did their close relationship to their siblings and parents play in their emotional health?
Using photographs, interviews and family footage, this film will build a cohesive portrait of the familial relationships of Michelle and Marlene Tamayo.

Surfers in swimming designated areas to face Asbo

We're All Going On A Summer Holiday (1990's)
This is a photo video which I compiled from old family photos stored in my attic's drawers. I aim to make many more of these in the future at various points. If my memory serves me right, these photos were taken in Skegness, Gullane amongst others which I may not remember. The music used is by Kevin MacLeod who specializes in providing the public with royalty free music for their videos. I look about 10 in some of these slides. Summer holiday was a highlight for me as a child and every July, my family would head off down to the south of England. We could never afford going abroad so frequently went to holiday camps such as Butlins and Haven which were good when we were little bairns. Murky goings on with Brighton beach huts
Two builders in Brighton were given beach hut plots free with the help of a council which they then sold for a profit, an investigation has revealed.
Brighton and Hove City Council investigated the "inappropriate" allocation of beach hut plots in 2005, BBC South East has learned.
A Freedom of Information request by the BBC to uncover the report findings was blocked by the council in May.
It said there was no evidence of deliberate misconduct or personal gain.
The council said it would not be in the public interest to release the information.
Builder Bernie Foster was given beach hut number 104 by the council in September 2003.
It had belonged to Ena Harrison until it was destroyed by vandals in August 2003.
Her son, David, claims Mr Foster offered his mother £200 for the destroyed hut and he advised her not to sell.
But Mr Harrison said a week later his mother received a telephone call from a council official advising her to return her hut to the authority.
A few weeks later Mr Foster's wife, Valerie, became the owner of the plot and at the start of 2004 Mr Foster rebuilt the beach hut and sold it to its current owners for £6,000.
Mr Foster said in a statement through his lawyers: "We were offered the site by Brighton and Hove City Council.
"They know me as someone who has constructed many huts on beach hut sites since 1986.
"We intended to build a new hut and use this ourselves along with our ageing aunt when I retired in 2004.'
Mr Foster said they changed their minds when approached by the current owners. ...more

Baby accidentally ‘stoned’ to death
An eight-month-old baby died instantly when hit by a stone on one of France's most popular tourist beaches on the island of Corsica.
The male infant died in front of his parents’ eyes after the stone thrown by two teenagers had hit him.
An eyewitness said, “the stone came flying down from a cliff face and hit the baby full on. It had been thrown by two local boys who then ran away.” A local police spokesman stated: “Emergency services attended extremely quickly but the baby was dead on arrival. The child did not stand a chance
The two teenagers, 13 and 14, were arrested soon after the incident and immediately claimed that the tragedy was a complete accident. According to a police official, they stated that they were just “playing” and it was “pure chance” that the baby was hit.
