Nike Air McFly to be released?!
We all remember the awesome pair of Nike shoes Marty Mcfly wore in Back To The Future II. They had a self locking lace system, they lit up, and they were just gangster. There was even an online petition for them to be retro’d that got a hell of a lot of signatures.
I was recently sent these pictures from an undisclosed source, and I immediately went and matched them up to the originals from the film. Although they look very similar, it’s clear they are not the same exact shoe. The only thing I can gather from this is that they may be a Nike prototype/sample which hopefully will see the light of release day at some point in the future. Even if only in extremely limited quantities, this would be absolutely amazing. We all remember the awesome pair of Nike shoes Marty Mcfly wore in Back To The Future II. 10 futuristic movie gadgets become reality - reviews by PC Magazine
There isn't a single Back to the Future buff who hasn't dreamed of riding around town on a hoverboard. Every Star Trek fan has lusted after Captain Kirk's communicator—in fact, the original 23rd-century models inspired the design for the first flip phones. While scientists haven't quite figured out teleportation or how to build a truly effective Terminator, there is some technology available today that looks pretty similar to what ambitious movie makers have been able to invent. You've seen some of them before: Microsoft Surface looks an awful like the gesture-based computer interface in Minority Report, and the video phones used by everyone from the Jetsons to the characters of Fritz Lang's Metropolis are now available from your local phone company. We've dug deep to bring you some truly unique gadgets that seemed to be inspired by the big screen. :) manages $9 billion hedge fund
:) involved in shady peruvian / congolese financing,
:) electoral college rigging
:) batting 1.000
I sure hope some of the dem cands also have team players like Paul Singer.
"...Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic Party, questioned ?Paul Singer?s involvement in this dirty trick aimed at stealing the White House
The vitriol directed at Mr. Singer reflects the intense passions being stirred by efforts to change the California law, which could alter the nation?s electoral map to favor Republicans and Mr. Giuliani
Such a change could give Republicans as many as 20 more electoral votes
Mr. Singer describes himself as a libertarian conservative dating to the Barry Goldwater days" :) manages $9 billion hedge fund :) involved in shady peruvian / congolese financing, :) electoral college rigging ... more -

1989 predictions that won't come true in 2008, either
Sorry McFly, we still don't have Hoverboards. But what we do have is a retrospective of the 1989 book "Future Stuff."
While most of the inventions mentioned in the book did make it to market by the year 2000 (Flat Screen TV's, Viagra), most still live far off in the future (hello Flying Car). Check it out. GTA IV? How about GTA 88mph!
The wait for Grand Theft Auto IV to hit the shops in 2008 is thankfully made all the easier by the succession of incredible mods making their way out there. My favourite by far? The Vice City Back To The Future one! Click the image above to watch a video of it in action.
