    • Artie Lange Enters Rehab

Not much is sacred to Artie Lange, but the health of Howard Stern's right-hand man is apparently no laughing matter.

Lange's publicist has confirmed to E! News that the longtime shock-jock sidekick has admitted himself to an intensive outpatient rehab facility.

There's no word on where the New York-based comedian is being treated, or what he's being treated for.

News of his in-treatment status comes after Lange canceled a string of stand-up dates, as well as a planned appearance on the Comedy Central roast of Bob Saget, which taped in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Last April, Lange made headlines when a verbal on-air argument with his personal assistant turned physical, resulting in him tendering his resignation to the Sirius Satellite Radio show.

While Stern accepted the resignation, an apologetic Lange was allowed to return to the show later that month with the caveat that another similar incident would result in his termination.

Lange is still expected to return to the Stern show when it comes back from hiatus later this month

    • Defeating Addiction

The world is full of addicts. They're everywhere. The old way of dealing with addiction was to throw the addict in jail and forget about them. In the modern world it's time we consider the more peaceful alternative which is treatment. 30-60-90 days can change a lifetime of bad behavior. At a cost that is far less then housing non-violent drug users in jails for years.

When he was just 10 years old, Don L. Sutton lived in a rundown house on 17th and Felix. At that age, his mother walked out on his family and he was being sexually molested frequently by another family member. He would have his first drink of alcohol five years later. It would be 22 years before he kicked his many addictions that all started with that first drink.

In Mr. Sutton’s new book, “Understanding Meth: The Epidemic,” he writes about his life as first an alcoholic, then a drug addict and drug dealer. He also describes his first use of meth and how it stemmed from that first drink he took at 15 years old.

“My whole life of alcoholism and drug addiction, all I continually did was try to get that higher high,” Mr. Sutton explains. “I went from alcohol to marijuana, from marijuana to cocaine, cocaine to heroin, heroin to LSD, LSD to meth.”

As his chase for the “higher high” continued, his life spiralled out of control. Soon, his addictions were a detriment to his family as both of his children suffered abuse and developed their own drug addictions.

In 1985, the Sutton family moved from St. Joseph to Portland, Ore. It was in Portland that he failed at attempting suicide in August 1987. After this experience, Mr. Sutton realized how insignificant his life was as an addict and the impact he had on those he loved. He decided he needed help right then and there.

“I was really sick and tired of being sick and tired,” Mr. Sutton says.

He checked into treatment for 33 days and now he has been clean and sober for 21 years.

His troubled life inspired him to write his book which has been featured on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and is part of Oprah’s Book Club. He plans on touring the country this year and giving every governor of every state a copy of his book. “Understanding Meth: The Epidemic” is his way of trying to spare people from the life he had.

“This book may not stop this epidemic, but if it saves on life it will be worth my time and effort. I’m not out to save the world. I’m out to save one person,” Mr. Sutton says.

He will be signing copies of his book tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Church in St. Joseph. For more information on the signing, call 279-2090. For more on Mr. Sutton’s book, visit www.understandingmeth.com. For more on meth prevention, visit www.saynotometh.com.

“28 Days” is a film about a young woman (played by Sandra Bullock), who by day is a very successful New York City writer. • Doctors Warn Amy Winehouse "Quit Drugs or Die"

Amy Winehouse receives a chilling warning from her doctors saying she must quit drugs or she will die.

The doctor’s orders came while Amy Winehouse was in a central London hospital undergoing testing after her recent fainting episode on Monday.

After blacking out at her Camden home, she was taken in to the clinic by her father, Mitch, as a precautionary measure.

Now Winehouse has received the stern warning that she will continue to be ill unless she gives up the hard drugs immediately.

A source told The Sun, “Eventually she won’t get up again. The only thing to stop that happening is if she quits drugs.”

Winehouse’s spokesman denies the doctors orders of “quit drugs or die”.

Her rep did state that the singer is still undergoing tests in London.

He said, “She seems to be fine in herself, but they are taking their time to be sure.” And that, “She’s staying there for the time being. They are still not quite sure what happened and the tests were inconclusive.”

Winehouse’s father, Mitch, says Amy to stay in the hospital for as long as is needed.

    • Celebrity rehab is getting fuzzy. Just ask Steven Tyler and Kirsten Dunst

Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler wants the world to know that when he checked into a rehab facility recently it wasn’t for all of the obvious reasons. He has a bad foot and the pain has been traumatic. He is not the first to set the record straight about rehab. We heard earlier this week that Kirsten Dunst’s stint in rehab was not about substance abuse but was depression related. • Kirsten Dunst Treated For Depression In Rehab

Kirsten Dunst has come clean on why she went to rehab in February, and it wasn’t for substance abuse like we first thought. It was for depression.

“I didn’t go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse,” she [says]. “I went there for depression.”

“I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself,” she says. “I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too, but I didn’t know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge.”

    • Lindsay Lohan mug shot used in liquor industry ad

A mug shot of the 21-year-old actress, who has been in and out of rehab after two arrests last year on drunken driving and cocaine charges, was prominently featured Friday in an advertisement attacking legislation for devices that measure a driver's blood alcohol level before their vehicle can start.

The full-page black-and-white ad appeared in USA Today on Friday and was paid for by the American Beverage Institute, a trade group that supports the interests of the alcohol industry. The ad reads "Ignition interlocks are a good idea for" above Lohan's mug shot from her July 24, 2007, arrest and "But a bad idea for us" above smaller photos of people drinking.

The ad suggested that ignition interlocks were fine for "hard-core" drunk drivers, but suggested they would bring an end to champagne toasts at weddings, wine at dinner and ballgame beers.
