Plea To Save Stowaway 'Ronaldo'
A kitten who survived a three-day journey from Europe in the back of a lorry could be put to sleep unless the charity who have taken him in receive more funding.
The kitten was discovered in the lorry container when it reached its destination in Corby, Northants, after travelling from Portugal.
The driver contacted animal adoption charity NANNA, who have named the stowaway Ronaldo, after the footballer from his home country.
Volunteer Pauline Wicks said: "We think he was only about ten days old when he was found. He was very dehydrated but is doing better now."
The charity have put Ronaldo into quarantine where it is hoped he will stay for six months, after which he will be re-homed.
However, the quarantine fees are £2,000 and NANNA say they do not have enough funding to pay for it themselves.
Chairman Petrina Alderman said: "We hope to rehome Ronaldo but unless we can get funding for his quarantine, there is no gurantee he will survive. At the moment, we really don't know what will happen to him."

Pete Doherty is planning to have the ashes of his cat Shelley made into a diamond ring.
The singer has commissioned the piece from US company LifeGem and insiders claims Pete, 29, is planning to give the sparkler to ex Kate Moss, 34.

Sand Cat
Welcome to Big Cat Rescue's species spotlight! The Sand Cat is one of our smallest residents as well as a very elusive feline that not a lot of people have ever seen in the wild or in captivity. Not a lot is known about this feline whos population is going down as the human population in the desert areas rise. The Sand Cat is one of our favorites and hopefully will be one of yours as well. And this goes without saying but even though they are small they would not make a good pet. Hopefully this video will inspire you to support feline conservation efforts around the globe.
