Britney to Pay K-Fed $20,000 in Child Support
A source close to the singer confirms she'll now pay Federline $20,000 a month in child support, an increase from $15,000.
Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, also demanded and received $250,000 for his work on the case, the source adds.
"All Britney was seeking was a formalization of her increased visitation that she's obtained over recent weeks, and the additional overnight," the source said. "She won both of those requests."
Spears, who is represented by lawyer Laura Wasser, currently sees her sons twice a week with one overnight. The source adds that she will get an additional overnight by year's end, barring any setbacks.
At a press conference following Friday's hearing, Kaplan declined to address any monetary settlement. "This has been a long ordeal [for Kevin]," Kaplan said, "and for it to be over makes him very happy." Britney Spears, Kevin Federline reach custody agreement
Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline have agreed on a custody arrangement for their two sons, probably averting a family court trial set for next month, an attorney for Federline said Friday.
A court spokesman confirmed that a resolution of the long custody case was in the works but that Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon has not signed off on it.
"We have reason to believe there will be imminent developments" resolving the issues, spokesman Allan Parachini said.
After a closed-door meeting with the pop star's attorney and the judge today, Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, declined to discuss terms of the deal, but said it would be finalized by the court "in the very near future." Kaplan told OK magazine the deal gave Federline full legal and physical custody of the toddlers while continuing visitation rights for Spears.
Spears and Federline did not attend the hearing.
Federline gained custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James in October after Spears exhibited erratic behavior. She was hospitalized for psychiatric problems in January.
The performer is allowed monitored visitation with her sons. Her attorney, Laura Wasser, said Friday that Spears was "doing well."

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have reportedly reached a settlement in their acrimonious 1½-year-long court battle over custody of their two sons.
Federline has sole custody of Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1. And Spears keeps her current status of two visits and one overnight per week.
That's it? Hmm. Doesn't sound like much for Britney to celebrate.
"The case has been settled," Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told E! "The court still has to approve it."
Both parties are due in court today.
The legal battle began in 2007 with 50-50 custody.
But after Spears had her series of public meltdowns and was hospitalized twice for mental health problems, she lost custody and even visitation rights, which were only recently and gradually reinstated to what they are now.
Many Britney watchers credit the appearance of her father, Jamie Spears, in her life in February (he has legal control of her affairs) for her abrupt turnaround. It remains to be seen if she can stay on the current spotless path that her dad has put her on if he's not around.
Britney will surely try to gain more custody of her kids.

Madonna has recruited Britney Spears for a virtual appearance on her upcoming tour.
"There is footage being shot of Britney some time this week in conjunction with Madonna's upcoming (Sticky & Sweet) tour," Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, said in an e-mail Tuesday to The Associated Press.
"That is all the information I have available. The rest is 'a secret.' "
Rosenberg denied reports that Spears, 26, is shooting a music video. Madonna guest starred in a music video for Spears' single "Me Against the Music" in 2003. The singers stirred up controversy that year with an open-mouth kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Madonna, 49, will kick off her tour August 23 in Cardiff, Wales, and wind through European destinations including London and Paris before jumping to the U.S. in October. Madonna has recruited Britney Spears for a virtual appearance on her upcoming tour. ... more -
