Hollywood actor Sean Penn reportedly texted his ex-wife Madonna to brag about his first gay kiss while shooting the biopic of US gay advocate Harvey Milk.
His co-star - and kissing partner - James Franco revealed: "After our kiss, Sean texted Madonna and said, 'I just popped my cherry kissing a guy. I thought of you. I don't know why.'" Female fan's kiss ends music concert in Kuwait
A Kuwaiti official says authorities abruptly ended a music concert by an Egyptian singer in this conservative Muslim country when a young female fan jumped on stage, hugged the male singer and gave him a kiss.
Qanas al-Adwani, who heads the government department that monitors public entertainment, says the girl's behavior at Friday's concert "defied the conservative traditions" of Kuwait.
Al-Adwani also said Sunday that the fan's behavior broke controls on public entertainment, which were imposed by influential Muslim fundamentalists after they failed in 1997 to ban concerts altogether. Concerts have to be licensed by the government, and monitors from the Information Ministry watch the crowd to make sure nobody stands up to dance. Lip to lip kissing: the new greeting?
The latest shock trend in so-called polite circles is the full-on lip kiss.
If you thought being air kissed by a complete stranger was bad enough, you ain't seen nothing yet. Lip-to-lip kissing is fast becoming the new air kiss. And it's not just your nearest and dearest puckering up. Even people who have forgotten your name — or only just met you — are planting one on the mouth.
It's true. Last week, the London Telegraph reported that the air kiss is out and the mouth-to-mouth kiss is in, after a spate of saliva-swapping sightings at London Fashion Week and the GQ Men of the Year Awards, where every winner received a wet one on the lips from hosts Lilly Allen and Sir Elton John.
"On the party scene, air-kissing — that horrible 'mwah, mwah' used by the kind of people who know your job title and dress size but forget your name — is out. Instead, there's a far worse social plague doing the rounds: being kissed on the mouth," the article read.
But it's not just the Brits who are being subjected to this new lip-smacking pandemic. It's happening here, too. From the bar to the boardroom colleagues, friends, complete strangers are moving in for a bit of lip action.
If you don't believe it, just ask body language expert Allan Pease, who has been smooched on the lips twice in the past few weeks by complete strangers. His wife, Barbara, also copped a mouthful from her gynaecologist just last week. "I don't know where it started but it's certainly catching on. Jail for two women in Emirates’ first lesbian indecency case
A Bulgarian woman and her Lebanese partner have been sentenced to one month in jail after being found guilty by a Dubai court of indecent acts.
It is thought to be the first case of its kind in the United Arab Emirates.
Dubai's Court of Appeal upheld the convictions.
The 36-year-old Bulgarian and 30-year-old Lebanese woman will both be deported after they have served their sentences.
7Days newspaper reported that they were spotted kissing and petting on a public beach in April. They both pleaded not guilty to charges they had behaved indecently.
Dubai, one of the seven oil-rich United Arab Emirates, is a popular destination for UK tourists.
While the majority of its 5.6 million residents are foreigners, homosexual relations are still a crime and punishments range from jail to deportation and death penalty.
In July 40 men were arrested in a crackdown on transvestites.
"Any man or woman who dresses up and behaves like the opposite gender in public will be questioned and legal action will be taken against him or her," Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, said in a statement on the Dubai Police website.
"The 40 transvestites were referred to the Public Prosecution, which issued an administrative deportation order against them. All of those arrested were visitors and tourists and not residents.
"This is against the UAE's traditions and social values," he said.
In May Dahi announced that transvestites caught in public would be arrested as part of a new campaign.
He said "transvestites have been seen of late in public places, including shopping malls."
He said the campaign under the slogan "Our social values are precious.. let's protect them", targets those who "do not respect social values and behave like the opposite sex." Girls kissing girls: radio station tries to set record
Inspired by the Katy Perry hit 'I Kissed a Girl (And I Liked It)', a New Zealand radio network tries to set a new world record for girls kissing girls.
On Thursday, 4th September, the network wants as many girl 'couples' across New Zealand to kiss for 20 seconds. As part of the promotion, one of the couples can win a trip to Melbourne. All participants will be offered chapstick and Hersheys Kisses chocolates.
There is currently no World Record set for numbers of same-sex kissers, though 1,188 Parisians of various genders set the record for most people kissing at once in November 2006, and a London opposite-sex couple set a record for longest unbroken kiss in July 2005 with their 31-hour, 30-minute and 30-second smooch. Heteroflexible: Girls kissing girls is the latest trend
Imagine that you hear that your 18-year-old daughter was kissing another girl at a party last weekend. What races through your mind? "O my gosh, she's exploring same-sex attractions. She must be a lesbian."
"Girls making out with each other to turn on guys is the latest craze at high school and college parties," according to the online magazine Salon.com.
Still don't believe it? Listen to this summer's monster hit song, "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry.
Young women whom Salon.com interviewed about the girl-on-girl trend said they had initially kissed other females to get a free beer at parties or on a dare from guys. But they soon saw it as a way to signal to males that they are "sexually open and adventurous."
"It was like, look, I'm the center of attention!" recalled one 16-year-old.
Female bisexuality is "the erotic new trend (everyone's trying it)," announced Marie Claire magazine in 2006.
A 2005 survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention appeared to confirm this. It found that while 1.3 percent of women identified themselves as homosexual, 11.5 percent of women ages 18 to 44 -- and about 14 percent of women in their late teens and early 20s -- report at least one sexual encounter with another woman.
Only about 4 percent of women, ages 18 to 59, reported such an encounter in a similar survey in 1992.
What is fueling this trend?
One factor is the huge popularity of Girls Gone Wild, a DVD franchise that films alcohol-addled females' sexual encounters with other women at college drinking revels. Same-sex kissing has been glamorized by celebrities, including Madonna and Britney Spears.
"Girls aren't kissing other girls because they want to," Pamela Paul, the author of "Pornified," told Salon. "They're doing it because they want to appeal to boys their age. And for boys their age who've developed sexually alongside Internet porn, their sexual cues are affected by the norms and standards of porn. And that's girl-on-girl action."

He kissed, he told and he was cited for underage drinking
A teenage college student tried -- and failed -- to persuade police that a make out session was behind his being tipsy.
After campus security at Minnesota State University, Mankato, reported a stumbling male on the street about 2:45 a.m. Saturday, police approached 18-year-old James A. Carroll and gave him a preliminary breath test. Carroll scored a 0.063 percent reading, police Cmdr. Amy Vokal said Tuesday.
Carroll's excuse, according to Vokal, was that he "was making out with a drunk" female about 30 minutes earlier.
For the record, Vokal said, such a scenario "is not possible. The breath [that is tested] comes from the lungs."
As for the partner in crime Carroll blamed, "That person didn't come forward," Vokal said.

The backlash against Heinz's decision to pull a TV ad featuring two men kissing gathered pace today with an online protest and a boycott call by Gaydar Radio.
Gaydar Radio, the digital station, became the second prominent gay organisation to call for a ban on Heinz after Stonewall urged its supporters to stop buying its products.

Heinz pulls ad showing men kissing.
Heinz has withdrawn its Deli Mayo TV ad that featured two men sharing a kiss and apologised to viewers after the advertising regulator received about 200 complaints that it was offensive and inappropriate.
The Heinz Deli Mayo ad has been pulled after less than a week on air after viewers complained to the Advertising Standards Authority that it was "offensive" and "inappropriate to see two men kissing".
Personaly I liked the ad, even if you could see it a mile away.
I understand why parents may be uncomfortable with it on v.early (it wasn't alllowed at kiddie shows due to its high salt levels, which is frankly idiotic) but i hardly see the need for a total removal of the ad.
