Heather Locklear locked up for alleged DUI in California
actress Heather Locklear was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving while impaired, TMZ.com reported.
The 47-year-old star was pulled over by California Highway Patrol in the Santa Barbara area after a resident reported seeing the actress leave a parking lot and “driving erratically,” CHP spokesman Tom Marshall told the Associated Press.
The officer then noticed Locklears car parked on a state highway, blocking a lane in Montecito, a city 90 miles northwest of Los Angeles. The actress was believed to be alone in the car, Marshall said.
"In talking with her, (the officer) determines that she seems to be under the influence of something," Marshall said.
Locklear was taken to the police station, where she was tested for alcohol and drugs.
She was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication and was later released from custody.
Calls to her publicists were not immediately returned.
Locklear checked into a medical clinic in June to seek treatment for anxiety and depression.
