Em's Chocolate Brownie Recipe
I thought I would share the love... this is my mum's brownie recipe. Please bake, photograph your batch, upload to this topic... and we will have a brownie war!
150g butter,
350g sugar,
150g self raising flour
4 large eggs,
1 tsp vanilla essence
4 or 5 tablespoons of cocoa powder - or enough until its really dark
3 (or maybe even 4!) packets of chocolate chips
Melt the butter in a pan, add the sugar, and mix over the heat until it becomes like a paste... turn off the heat and add all the other ingredients (apart from the chocolate chips) and whizz it with an electric mixer. Cover a normal (roast-chicken-size) roasting tin in a sheet of greaseproof paper, and grease it with butter. At the last minute, stir in the chocolate chips saving some to sprinkle on the top, and pour it into the roasting tin.... put it in to a preheated 180 C oven, for 15-20 mins - test it with a knife - it should come up clean near the edge, but still squishy in the middle...
Pics of mine are coming tomorrow. I thought I would share the love... this is my mum's brownie recipe. Please bake, photograph your batch, upload to this topic...... more -
