    • Indiana State Police Find 2,000-plant Marijuana Field

Indiana State Police arrested three individuals in Kosciusko County last night after finding a 2,000-plant marijuana plot.

The three people were tending the plants and taken into custody by ISP.

Mario Camacho, 44, and Mariano Gonzalez, 38, both of Goshen, were arrested on charges of dealing and cultivating marijuana, assisting a criminal and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The third individual, a juvenile, is currently being held at the Juvenile Justice Center in South Bend.

A single marijuana plant can be worth over $1,000.

“This plot is one of the largest cultivated outdoor plots that I have come across," said the Bremen District Marijuana Eradication Coordinator, Senior Trooper Chad Larsh.

    • Student wanted to break school massacre record

A teenage boy charged with plotting a Columbine-like massacre at his Indiana high school wrote that he wanted to "break the current shooting record" and could "kill anyone without feeling sorry because society sucks!!!" In entries in a spiral notebook seized from his locker in late-April, Russell Frantom, 16, noted that he sought the "instant recognition" that a school shooting would afford him, and that he and a friend had picked September 11 as the attack date "because it's already iconic."

Police began investigating Frantom after he posted an inflammatory April 8 comment on a public MySpace page for Penn High School. Referring to Columbine gunmen Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris as "martyrs," Frantom wrote that he wished that a school attack would occur. The online discussion thread was prompted by the discovery of a threat written on the wall of a school bathroom warning that "everyone was going to die" on April 18. Frantom and Billi are facing conspiracy to commit murder charges. Billi was also hit with child porn charges after investigators discovered illicit images of minors during a search of his computer equipment.

Check out the link for the actual documents and the student's violent MySpace messages.

    • Marines Bringing Combat Training to Indy

By Vic Ryckaert// The Indianapolis Star

U.S. Marine helicopters will land at the old Eastgate Consumer Mall, Brookside Park and other Indianapolis locations when the city becomes a mock battlefield next week.
About 2,300 Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C., will conduct urban warfare training from Wednesday through June 19 in and around Indianapolis.

Most of the troops will be deployed at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and the Raytheon facility on Holt Road, said Debbi Fletcher of the Indianapolis/Marion County Emergency Management Agency.

“We don’t want anyone thinking that there’s an invasion happening or that we declared martial law or something like that,” Fletcher said.

      From the Portland Tribune

Oregon has atempted a lude law simmilar to the law passed last week in Indiana which fines and labels lude and lusidious content in books, artwork, and all public displays. This law and simmilar laws would require average bookstores such as Borders or Waldenbooks as well as many mom and pop stores to register alongside hardcore pornopgraphic stores and stripclubs. Many people are objecting to the law including the founder of Dark Horse Comics, and many local bookstore owners. The main objection,"Any content can be offensive to someone."

War, death and destruction GOOD; the human body BAD!

Indiana has passed new legislation declaring art work portraying the human body unsuitable for humans. Great artist once considered by the vast majority of humanity throughout the ages to posses a "divine gift" such as Michelangelo are now determined to be "PORNOGRAPHERS" in the eyes of the enlightened Indiana legislature. Never mind the work of the "Divine himself".

Next up on the "enlightened'" Indiana State legislature's agenda; a bill to ban all mirrors and "reflective surfaces" for fear "horny" sexual deviates might view themselves; become uncontrollably aroused; and violate themselves - oh, and children of course.

"Even seemingly innocent reflective surfaces can be turned into "PORNOGRAPHIC" paraphernalia such as car side and rear view mirrors, shiny cook wear, CD jewel cases and even patent leather shoes" excitedly exclaimed one erect 'member' of the Indianan legislature.

    • Howard Kurtz - Is Hillary Done? - washingtonpost.com

In a nutshell: After a month of horrible coverage for Obama, the Jeremiah Wright debacle and the caricaturing of the candidate as an elitist, he nonetheless managed to fight Clinton to a virtual dead heat in a state in which she had been favored. All the media chatter about how Hillary had found her voice, won the hearts of the working class and captured the momentum didn't amount to squat. Whether she won Indiana by a few thousand votes was, by that time, beside the point.

Have I mentioned lately that the commentators have been consistently wrong in this campaign?

Clinton had claimed victory in her speech--indeed, Obama had conceded Indiana minutes earlier--but it may have been a pyrrhic victory at best.

    • No free lunch, or breakfast, for Obama

GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) — There are no free lunches in politics. Barack Obama may have learned that about breakfasts as well when he stopped by the Four Seasons Family Restaurant on Tuesday for some last-minute politicking.

On the day of primary elections in Indiana and North Carolina, Obama trolled for last-minute undecided votes in this Indianapolis suburb.

"Take this, we'll seal the deal," a man in a booth eating breakfast with three male companions told the Illinois senator as they chatted about the election. He held up their breakfast check. Agreeing, Obama snatched the bill quickly.

"I've got your check," Obama said.

The man, Steve Czajkowski, 39, tried to grab it back, telling Obama he was only joking and that he didn't expect the presidential candidate to pay for their breakfasts. But Obama persisted and walked off grasping the check firmly.

Czajkowski, who told reporters the check totaled about $25, said, "I like his message. I like the way he's running his campaign."

But had Obama won his vote? Well, not exactly, said Czajkowski, who said he was working as a pastor at the Greenwood Community Church,

      "I'm Canadian," he said.

    • Ari Melber: Key Voting Blocs Boost Obama in Indiana - Politics on The Huffington P...

So Barack Obama is back. The results on Tuesday did not provide the "game changer" Hillary Clinton so desperately needed. Instead, Obama built on his leads in delegates and the popular vote. His aides pointed to May 20 as the day when he will clinch a majority of elected delegates, essentially becoming the party's presumptive nominee. And that's not all.

In Indiana, Obama improved his support across several key demographics, despite a bruising month of attacks on his pastor, patriotism and populism. Compared to Ohio and Pennsylvania, he generally drew more votes from white women, Catholics, gun owners, households earning under $50,000 annually, voters prioritizing the economy, and voters without a college degree. A Democratic field operative sent in this graph of the progress:

    • "Hi, I'm with the Secret Service"

Let me be frank for a moment. Being a democrat in Indiana and at times being a voter in Indiana at all has seems a moot point for Hoosiers. Campaigns don't stop here. Analysts call Indiana red early in the day and move on. Or so conventional wisdom holds, but this year things have been quite different. The candidates and family members have made more than seventy Indiana campaign stops and nearly five percent of the state 200,000 people registered as democrats this year bolstering gains made in the last seven years by the party in Indiana which has only voted democrat three times in a century and twice voted against Woodrow Wilson despite the fact that his Vice President was from Indiana.

In adition to working here at Current I juggled two other part time jobs as you can find in my profile. One at an Imax theatre and the other at a nearby park in Indianapolis. It was only my third day back on the job in the park at the Garfield Park Arts Center, I was running a few minuites late because of traffic and I wanted my boss to know I had gotten in, the first words I hear when I get to her office are from two campaign staffers "Senator Obama will be ariving in the park....." I was understandably taken aback. The Senator had chosen the Arts Center and the Park as the place for an exclusive interview with the today show as well as a town hall meeting and a series of small radio and print interviews. The stop was a secret and one we were asked to keep, my boss wasn't even able to tell her daughter and I kept my exceptionaly large mouth shut about the stop as well which is hard working for a news network, but when you have someone hold out thier hand and say "Hi, I'm with the Secret Service, we need to do a security sweep." it makes one heck of a lasting impression on you.

Afterwards Barack and Michelle took the time to speak with us breifly and snapped some photos. He even had time to sign a few books for us while we gave him a piece of artwork from our after shcool childrens art program. That's me at the back to the right of the Senator and Michelle. It was quite a surreal experience to say the least.

To make things even more complicated this week when I sat down to watch the interviews there was a "Hillary for president sticker on my door and a "Hillary the Smart Choice" sign inside my house. My grandmother had been front and center at a rally with Bill Clinton in Indianapolis and my cousin, her nephew who is a local union leader gave them to her after the rally and tonight she and the Arts Center both made it onto the television. I was stunned, it was pure punditry, a Grandma at a Hillary rally and a Grandson working at an Obama campaign stop. It was as if every political article on current were jumping from my screen and into my living room today and its an experience that is very strange for Hoosiers who though often well versed in politics are very used to watching politics from a distance. Its an experience that will likely be reflected in a record primary turnout.

Gov. Ed Rendell of PA, a Hillary Clinton supporter, is seen in this video to be praising controversial Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Shouldn't the media be asking Mrs. Clinton about the merits of Rendell's support in light of this? Perhaps she should consider renouncing and rejecting Rendell and his support.
Why do they only talk about Rev. Wright's admiration of Farrakhan but NOT Rendell's? Could they be showing their bias?

They have a list of uncommitted superdelegates they'd like to send signed petitions to. We just need another 290 delegates to pledge for Senator Obama and make him the Democratic Nominee. If you're like me, you're sick of this primary campaign. Senator Obama is ahead in pledged delegates and most analysts agree, it is near impossible for Hillary Clinton to catch up. I think we all know that if the circumstances were reversed, Obama would have been asked to drop out of this race after losing 11 states in a row. Please help put an end to this madness be petitioning the remaining uncommitted superdelegates to come out and endorse Senator Obama as the Democratic Nominee so we can get on with the business of preparing for the general election and take on Senator McCain on the issues.
