Obama Supports Obama
There is a small fishing town in Japan that shares its name with Democratic hopeful Obama and they are just crazy about him! After sending the candidate a care-package of chopsticks, an introductory DVD and guidebook nearly a year ago, on Tuesday the town's mayor said that he had received a letter from the candidate and here is part of what it said:
"I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to the city of Obama for your support and encouragement and thank you for your thoughtful gift."
"We share more than a common name," Obama wrote. "We share a common planet and common responsibility. I look forward to a future marked by the continued friendship of our two great nations and shared commitment to a better, freer world."
All around the town the image of Barack Obama's face - everyone is talking about the man who shares their name and town officials are serious about forging a relationship between Obama and Obama. They even had a party to watch the results of Tuesday's primaries creating t-shirts, chopsticks and burgers that say "I love Obama" on them. The £10m ad begins with 6,000 dominoes, leading on to objects such as books, paint cans, tyres, flaming hay bales, fridges, suitcases and even cars.
