    • Obama Protested by Bizarre Black Cult

"Democratic presidential candidate Barrack Obama was interrupted by protesters as he made a speech at the University of Miami.

He was speaking inside an arena at the university in Coral Gables, Florida when about a dozen people began to wave homemade signs.

Among the signs were handwritten messages which stated 'Blacks against Obama,' 'Obama for Gay Marriage.' Obama has come out in support of civil unions but not gay marriage.

Another one read 'endorsed by the KKK.' One stated, 'Jesse Jackson hates Obama.' The signs all had the words Michael Warns written at the bottom."

The above photo is the cover of the book written by Michael the Black Man, for sale on his web site, in which he argues "the BLACK MAN, and the WORLD the true source of their problem, 33% of the BLACK WOMEN of AMERICA (BABYLON). GOD is angry with the world for worshipping this WOMAN LILITH the DEVIL... This WOMAN has made man in the world impotent and obsolete." Judging from the photos at the top of the book cover, the woman Michael speaks of is Oprah, whom he fashions as the Devil, and himself as God. Also noteworthy from the cover is the list of good (in white print) and bad (in black print); the "good" list is made up of positive, right, Republicans, Yahweh, male, and God, while the bad list consists of negative, left, Democrats, Masons, female, and Devil. Here's a link to a high-quality image of the book cover.

Obama is addressed on this site as well. Michael the Black Man lists 3 reasons not to vote for Obama:
      "1. Make Child Support Federal
      2. Believes in Abortions
      3. Believes in Gay Marriages".

      Enjoy.

    • The World's Most Powerful Celebrities

It is the year of the tween. Coming off a massive concert tour, a hit 3-D movie--and a risqué picture in Vanity Fair--pop star Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) leads a slew of young stars onto Forbes' annual Celebrity 100 ranking of the world's ultra-famous.

Also building buzz, and drawing dollars, from the under-18 crowd were Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, teen crooners the Jonas Brothers and High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale.

Oprah Winfrey remains No. 1 on the Celebrity 100, a power ranking based on both earnings and fame. Despite weakening television ratings and magazine circulation, Winfrey earned $275 million before taxes in the past 12 months, and she remains one of the most famous faces in the world.

The Celebrity 100 is Forbes' list of the world's most powerful--and best-paid--celebrities. To generate the list, Forbes estimates celebrity earnings, then factors in media metrics like Google hits, press mentions as compiled by Factiva, TV/radio mentions from Lexis/Nexis and the number of times an A-lister appears on the cover of more than 50 consumer magazines.

Earnings estimates are for June 2007 to June 2008 and consist of dollars earned solely from entertainment-related income. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted.

Golf star Tiger Woods retained the No. 2 spot on the list, raking in $115 million on and off the course, while actress Angelina Jolie soared to the third spot, combining $14 million in earnings with unrivaled levels of fame.

    • Oprah: Palin can come on my show after the election

Oprah Winfrey, who made the first political endorsement of her life this year in supporting Barack Obama, said in a statement Friday that she would be happy to have Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin on her show — but not until after the election is over. The statement was meant to clarify a report on the Drudge Report, which claimed Oprah's staff was divided over having Palin and that Oprah refused due to her support of Obama. • Economists say Oprah's endorsement gave Obama a million votes

Politicians and pundits routinely claim that celebrity endorsements have little sway on voters, and two economists set out recently to test the premise. What they found was that at least one celebrity does hold influence in the voting booth: Oprah Winfrey.

The economists, Craig Garthwaite and Timothy Moore of the University of Maryland, College Park, contend that Ms. Winfrey’s endorsement of Barack Obama last year gave him a boost of about one million votes in the primaries and caucuses. Their conclusions were based partly on a county-by-county analysis of subscriptions to O: The Oprah Magazine and sales figures for books that were included in her book club.

Those data points were cross-referenced with the votes cast for Mr. Obama in various polling precincts. The results showed a correlation between magazine sales and the vote share obtained by Mr. Obama, and extrapolated an effect of 1,015,559 votes.

"We think people take political information from all sorts of sources in their daily life," Mr. Moore said in an e-mail message, "and for some people Oprah is clearly one of them."

    • Defeating Addiction

The world is full of addicts. They're everywhere. The old way of dealing with addiction was to throw the addict in jail and forget about them. In the modern world it's time we consider the more peaceful alternative which is treatment. 30-60-90 days can change a lifetime of bad behavior. At a cost that is far less then housing non-violent drug users in jails for years.

When he was just 10 years old, Don L. Sutton lived in a rundown house on 17th and Felix. At that age, his mother walked out on his family and he was being sexually molested frequently by another family member. He would have his first drink of alcohol five years later. It would be 22 years before he kicked his many addictions that all started with that first drink.

In Mr. Sutton’s new book, “Understanding Meth: The Epidemic,” he writes about his life as first an alcoholic, then a drug addict and drug dealer. He also describes his first use of meth and how it stemmed from that first drink he took at 15 years old.

“My whole life of alcoholism and drug addiction, all I continually did was try to get that higher high,” Mr. Sutton explains. “I went from alcohol to marijuana, from marijuana to cocaine, cocaine to heroin, heroin to LSD, LSD to meth.”

As his chase for the “higher high” continued, his life spiralled out of control. Soon, his addictions were a detriment to his family as both of his children suffered abuse and developed their own drug addictions.

In 1985, the Sutton family moved from St. Joseph to Portland, Ore. It was in Portland that he failed at attempting suicide in August 1987. After this experience, Mr. Sutton realized how insignificant his life was as an addict and the impact he had on those he loved. He decided he needed help right then and there.

“I was really sick and tired of being sick and tired,” Mr. Sutton says.

He checked into treatment for 33 days and now he has been clean and sober for 21 years.

His troubled life inspired him to write his book which has been featured on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and is part of Oprah’s Book Club. He plans on touring the country this year and giving every governor of every state a copy of his book. “Understanding Meth: The Epidemic” is his way of trying to spare people from the life he had.

“This book may not stop this epidemic, but if it saves on life it will be worth my time and effort. I’m not out to save the world. I’m out to save one person,” Mr. Sutton says.

He will be signing copies of his book tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Church in St. Joseph. For more information on the signing, call 279-2090. For more on Mr. Sutton’s book, visit www.understandingmeth.com. For more on meth prevention, visit www.saynotometh.com.

    • Oprah Obsessive Disorder - Woman Lives Life Based On Oprah's Teachings

Lo, a 35-year-old actress, writer, and yoga teacher, is trying to do everything Oprah recommends for a whole year. She’s listening to recommendations Oprah makes on her talk show, and gathering others from her Web site and magazine, and keeping track of her project at livingoprah.com. She hopes to get a book out of it, but for now she’s keeping her identity secret, partly to avoid giving the impression that she’s looking for handouts.

Oprah Winfrey loves the turkey burgers at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago restaurant in Palm Beach and thinks everyone should “experience” them. So last week “Lo,” a blogger whose pseudonym is an acronym that stands for Living Oprah, spent an evening sauteing Granny Smith apples, fresh parsley, and celery and blending the mixture with $28 worth of organic turkey meat. “Usually our dinners take about 30 minutes to make,” she says. This one took three hours.

Lo and her husband, Jim, ate their green-specked turkey burgers picnic-style, surrounded by boxes. New landlords have raised the rent on their Lincoln Square two-bedroom, so they’re packing up. “Our rent went up about 200 dollars,” Lo says. “And while we could probably have tightened our belts to make that happen, we didn’t know what this year would bring as far as financial demands due to Living Oprah, so we decided it was better be safe than sorry and find a new apartment that we knew we could afford.”
