Oregon chain brings back vinyl after employee checked the "LP" code by accident.
From the report: This spring, an employee intending to order a special CD-DVD edition of R.E.M.'s latest release "Accelerate" inadvertently entered the "LP" code instead. Soon boxes of the big, vinyl discs showed up at several stores.
Some sent them back. But a handful put them on the shelves, and 20 LPs sold the first day. From the report: This spring, an employee intending to order a special CD-DVD edition of R.E.M.'s latest release "Accelerate" inadver... more -

Sleeveface
Sleeveface started in a Cardiff bar but is fast becoming an internet phenomenon requiring just a record sleeve, a camera and big dollops of imagination. Put the sleeve in front of your face, strike the pose of the rock god you've chosen, and get yourself photographed. Vinyl Exctinct In Jamaica
In Jamaica, seven-inch singles are completely extinct - DJs have ditched their turntables in favour of CD players. Apparently this is due to CDR's, lazy mixing on the part of DJ's and the fact that most vinyl was made for the export market.

Designer Vinyl
I'll admit it, I never grew up. I still love toys. There's something about the intense colors and the intoxicating smell of fresh cold plastic that throws me back to 1983. Well, I'm not alone.
People that have been in love with toys have likely been in love with them for a long time. That is the heart of many of today?s premier vinyl designers, which may be the reason for the bold statements they make in both design and color. For those of you unfamiliar with this popular trend, you may be startled to find what an intense source of color and beauty the designer vinyl toy universe can offer.

Vinyl gets its groove back
From college dorm rooms to high school sleepovers, an all-but-extinct music medium has been showing up lately. And we don't mean CDs. Vinyl records, especially the full-length LPs that helped define the golden era of rock in the 1960s and '70s, are suddenly cool again. Some of the new fans are baby boomers nostalgic for their youth. But to the surprise and delight of music executives, increasing numbers of the iPod generation are also purchasing turntables (or dusting off Dad's), buying long-playing vinyl records and giving them a spin.
