One Final Borehole In to Utah Mine
Mine owners have said that the 6th borehole into the collapsed mine in Utah will be the last. As with all the prior holes, the 5th showed no signs of life...and an escape tunnel that was completely collapsed. Some hope for Utah miners
Cameras found an open area with ceilings, walls and floors intact and sufficient air and water, indicating that the trapped miners may have been able to survive the mine collapse. A microphone also picked up some noises. But safety experts caution the noises could have been moving rocks or animals and don't indicate for sure that the miners are still alive.
