UK government officials live it up at taxpayers' expense
With the cost of living in the UK rising dramatically over the last 12 months, petrol and diesel at an all time high, the economy in a melt down as the credit crunch ripples through the business community ... you would think that under the leadership of "prudent" Gordon Brown the Labour government would at least make a show of reining in their own spending on Whitehall official's wages and bonuses.
After all those same officials have dug their heels in when it came to discussing inflation linked pay rises for nurses, the police force and members of the fire service. So it will come as a pretty hurtful shock to find that whilst on the one hand the faceless bureaucrats have been urging "caution" to the unions and the public in general, whilst they themselves have shown no such restraint when it comes to their own pockets which they appear to have been filling to the hilt.
With the average senior civil servant pocketing a whopping £7K on top of their already substantial pay packet, for their "success" in running the country's departments ... it will no doubt leave the average Joe in the street wondering just what, exactly, those successes are? Were they when the Government lost computer discs with millions of peoples details on there leaving them open to fraudsters? Perhaps it's the fact that they leave file after file of *confidential* information about terrorists for any old man in the street to pick up off the trains?
Maybe it could be that they are simply congratulating themselves on a job well done - with redundancies at an all time high and the economy in terminal freefall towards a full blown recession? Who knows ... but following hot on the greedy heels of the MPs in Westminster voting for an inflation busting pay rise and the refusal to vote off the "John Lewis" list which forces taxpayers to pay to furnish their second homes with luxury goods from the upmarket department store ... is it any wonder that members of the public in the UK see MPs and Whitehall officials as "living the highlife" at their somewhat costly expense? With the cost of living in the UK rising dramatically over the last 12 months, petrol and diesel at an all time high, the economy in a... more -
Government official takes 'wombat leave'!
Right now in Australia, inflation is at a 16-year high, interest rates and fuel prices are rising, so what does the treasurer do? Goes off to look after small-legged marsupials, of course ...
Ken Henry, Australian treasury secretary will travel to an isolated spot in the north east of the country to care for over 100 'hairy nosed' wombats. Although this might seem a strange choice in mid-session, there is a serious message here: These animals are critically endangered, and besides, Mr. Henry has promised to come back fully prepared to tackle Australia's economic problems; but you can see how he'd be drawn to them!
Wombat's have had some bad press recently, but I have it on good authority that this variety is NOT the one which was accused of certain 'deeds'; come on...could you say no to those eyes? (And more importantly would he stop if you did ...?) Right now in Australia, inflation is at a 16-year high, interest rates and fuel prices are rising, so what does the treasurer do? Goes... more -

McCain: "Why is Chelsea Clinton so UGLY?"
Why is Chelsea Clinton so UGLY? Because her father is Janet Reno!
A McCain supporter asks on camera "How do we beat the bitch?" and he doesn't flinch.
Yes, something old (Chelsea joke) and something new (newer, the no flinch), something borrowed (McCain's explanation for the Chelsea joke) and something blue (Democratic women who are offended by the McCain campaign trying to seem Pro-Women).
The NY TImes brings up all this and uncovers the real feelings of McCain in light of his "I LOVE WOMEN" propaganda.
Other highlights of this Bush administration-like attempt at trying to make the real facts disappear like a magic trick:
1. McCain is a fierce foe of abortion rights.
2. McCain voted to terminate the federal family-planning that provides breast cancer screening.
Well, it seems like McCain doesn't realize that you need breasts to breast feed all the un-aborted babies out there.
Hmmm... Why is Chelsea Clinton so UGLY? Because her father is Janet Reno! ... more -

The capitalist conspiracy in ya face
Think conspiracies don't work??? They do indeed. It was a conspiracy that directed Brutus against Caesar in the Roman senate on the Ides of March. It was a conspiracy that plotted the betrayal of Westpoint by Benedict Arnold during the Revolution. It was a conspiracy that led John Wilkes Booth to the assassination of President Lincoln on Good Friday, 1865... John F. Kennedy, himself the victim of a conspiracy assassination WARNED us about it:
"...There is little value in ensuring the survival of our nation, if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger, that an announced need for increased security, will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment...we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covet means for expanding its sphere of influence, on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversions instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military diplomatic intelligence economic scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. It mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed..." --President John F. Kennedy
There is an OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED conspiracy that seeks world control through capitalist agendas (Monsanto, Microsoft, IBM, Blackwater, Haliburton etc), and most Americans are just flatly ignorant and/or (equally unbecoming) pridefully stupid about it:
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs." --Thomas Jefferson, Letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin (1802), 3rd president of US (1743 - 1826)
"History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments
by controlling the money and its issuance."--James Madison, the 4th President of the United States (1809-1817)
Consider also President Andrew Jackson's scathing evaluation of central banking:
"Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the Eternal God, I will rout you out... If people only understood the rank injustice of the money and banking system, there would be a revolution by morning." ….
Andrew Jackson publicly pledging to defeat international monopolist bankers to their face in his speech. Jackson vanquished a global cartel in its plans for a privately owned “U.S.” central bank. A public murder attempt on Andrew Jackson failed shortly thereafter by a double misfire of the assassin’s pistols. Think conspiracies don't work??? They do indeed. Is Obama a CFR Puppet???
The Council on Foreign Relations is one of the major conduits between government
and business leaders in the US. The CFR is guaranteeing power by
owning all the horses in the race that is the 2008 election...
Obama enjoys a
popular image as a liberal democrat, and his harsh criticism of the
Iraq war has earned him support from a population united in it's
discontent with the current government. To a select crowd of
Americans, Obama preaches against the handling of the Iraq war. To
other more private groups, Obama advocates military strikes on new
middle eastern countries. Obama has aligned himself with several
lobbying firms and nongovernmental organizations who seek further US
militarization of the world. In several speeches and essays, Obama
makes his foreign policy goals clear – and he is not anti-war. Is
Obama intentionally sending a deceptive message to his constituency?...
Barack Obama has
captivated voters from all parties with his refreshing new style of
rhetoric. He has the voting record to back his criticism of the Iraq
war. But like his CFR colleagues, he vows to continue the pursuit of
a shadowy enemy under the vague threat of “terrorism” - a policy
that has cost citizens their personal liberties, trillions in debt
and untold lives. The war on terror has been crafted to spend the
US into bankruptcy and setup a domestic police state. Money
continues to be being printed out of thin air by the private
run-for-profit Federal Reserve, while China remains leveraged with
over $1 trillion in US dollar holdings. In the middle east, the
CFR's blank check for U.S. military operations will deplete U.S.
resources while inciting sectarian strife and anti-U.S. sentiment,
ignoring the history of blowback as documented by the CIA. Obama and
other CFR candidates affiliation with the organization is not
promoted on their websites or in any press releases because the
organization has centralized political power and financial capital to
set policy the public would otherwise oppose. The career
politicians in the CFR know corporate sponsorship is frowned upon by
voters. The Council is one of the major conduits between government
and business leaders in the US. The CFR is guaranteeing power by
owning all the horses in the race that is the 2008 election. Obama
is captivating unlike most of his competition, undoubtedly
intelligent enough to understand his political niche. Another CFR
US president guarantees more of the same costly foreign policy that
protects corporate interests and isolates the US. Like his
colleagues, Barack Obama's stated foreign policy intentions foment
the long term militarization and balkanization of the middle east
while resources will continue to be spent in deficit to finance an
illegal foreign policy. Only when the control of the CFR is fully
exposed will the voters have a real democratic choice...
Surprisingly, many
of its own members admit the CFR goal is to subvert the democratic
process. CFR member and Judge Advocate General of the US Navy
Admiral Chester Ward writes “The main purpose of the (CFR) is
promoting the disarmament of US sovereignty and national dependence
and submergence into and all powerful, one world government.”.
This high ranking military officer went on to explain their
procedures for influencing policy, claiming: “Once the ruling
members of the CFR shadow government have decided that the US
government should adopt a particular policy, the very substantial
research facilities of the CFR are put to work to develop arguments,
intellectual and emotional, to support the new policy and to confound
and discredit, intellectually and politically, any opposition... The Council on Foreign Relations is one of the major conduits between government ... more -

Why Oprah Winfrey Left Rev. Wright's Church | Newsweek Periscope | Newsweek.com
For any spiritually minded, up-wardly mobile African-American living in Chicago in the mid-1980s, the Trinity United Church of Christ was—and still is—the place to be. That's what drew Oprah Winfrey, a recent Chicago transplant, to the church in 1984. She was eager to bond with the movers and shakers in her new hometown's black community. But she also admired Trinity United's ambitious outreach work with the poor, and she took pride in upholding her Southern grandmother's legacy of involvement with traditional African-American houses of worship. Winfrey was a member of Trinity United from 1984 to 1986, and she continued to attend off and on into the early to the mid-1990s. But then she stopped. A major reason—but by no means the only reason—was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Race to the Bottom
In the course of Hillary Clinton's historic run for the White House--in which she became the first woman ever to prevail in a state-level presidential primary contest--she has been likened to Lorena Bobbitt (by Tucker Carlson); a "hellish housewife" (Leon Wieseltier); and described as "witchy," a "she-devil," "anti-male" and "a stripteaser" (Chris Matthews). Her loud and hearty laugh has been labeled "the cackle," her voice compared to "fingernails on a blackboard" and her posture said to look "like everyone's first wife standing outside a probate court." As one Fox News commentator put it, "When Hillary Clinton speaks, men hear, Take out the garbage." Rush Limbaugh, who has no qualms about subjecting audiences to the spectacle of his own bloated physique, asked his listeners, "Will this country want to actually watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis?" Perhaps most damaging of all to her electoral prospects, very early on Clinton was deemed "unlikable." Although other factors also account for that dislike, much of the venom she elicits ("Iron my shirt," "How do we beat the bitch?") is clearly gender-specific. In the course of Hillary Clinton's historic run for the White House--in which she became the first woman ever to prevail in a state-le... more
