Kids who photograph themselves naked are child pornographers and sex offenders
A fifteen year old girl in Newark, OH faces being labelled a "sex offender" for sending naked cellphone photos of herself (a minor) to other minors. If convicted, she'll spend the next ten years on public registries, classed as a producer of child pornography. No word on what compensation she (as the victim of the crime) will be able to get from herself (as the perp).
According to Ohio law, 2907.323(A)(3) states anyone possessing material that shows a minor in a state of nudity is guilty of a fifth-degree felony. The violation also might qualify the juvenile as a Tier I sexual offender, which requires annual registration for a decade.
The section of the law the girl, who is a foster child, was charged with allows parents or guardians to take photos of their unclothed children for a list of acceptable purposes but does not provide an exemption for the child themselves. British military police officer jailed for downloading 1,300 child porn images
A military policeman has been dismissed from the service and jailed for two years for downloading child pornography.
A court martial heard that Corporal Anthony Ellis, 52, possessed nearly 1,300 images.
Ellis, a father of two, from Colchester, Essex, was sentenced at a court martial held at Hoehne Barracks in Germany where he was stationed with 1 Regt, RMP.
The case follows a similar incident in July involving another soldier which ended with a warning by Judge Advocate Colin Burns that such offenses were 'depressingly prevalent' in the forces.
A panel of military officers heard that Ellis used file-sharing programmes to access the images over two years.
The court heard that 1,298 images of young girls and boys were found on the Corporal’s computer and the pictures were graded at levels one to five on the Copine Scale, where one is the least serious and five the most.
He was discovered when sharing a laptop in barracks last year.
He admitted 17 specimen charges of making an indecent photograph of a child.
Judge Advocate Michael Elsom told Ellis: 'These offenses are disgraceful to any right-thinking person.'
Defending, Chris Hill said: “Cpl Ellis is a man who has done himself, the RMP and the Service huge damage. He doesn’t know why he behaved in this way.
“It’s a disaster for him. He almost got to 22 years’ service and will now suffer a £100,000 loss because of his irresponsible and shameful behaviour.
“He’s expressed his remorse and doesn’t even own a computer now.”

Mom accused of performing sex act on toddler son
Alicia Lee, 31, from Denver, Colorado, is charged with sexual assault on young child - her own 2-year-old son. Lee faces charges of sexual assault on a child, sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and additional charges.
Alicia Lee of Denver also took photos of herself performing oral sex on her child and then e-mailed them to a friend in April, according to an arrest affidavit. Police say Alicia Lee sent the pictures to a friend, who forwarded them to the 2-year-old boy's father. The father then called police.
According to a copy of the e-mail reported by the Rocky Mountain News, the mom told her friend in April that she thought about the sex act while changing the boy's diapers. The next day, she sent a photo of the act to a friend and said the boy giggled.
In an April 4 message, Lee wrote to her friend, "Did I tell you about my fantacy (sic) about the baby? It is weird but at times when I change his diaper I think of taking it into my mouth to see his reaction."
In a message the next day, she wrote, "DID IT!!././.He giggled a lot. I think it tickled him. I will try again tomorrow. I think if I do it enough he will get use (sic) to it." Kelly Lumadue Convicted of Sex with 5-Year-Old Boy
Kelly Lumadue, 33-years-old woman from Sanford, Florida, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In 2007 jury convicted Kelly Marie Lumadue of capital sexual battery for engaging in sex with a five-year-old boy. The conviction was thrown out by a judge citing "potential juror misconduct and an overly-aggressive prosecutor."
After being retried she was convicted on a charge of capital sexual battery of a 5-year-old boy, and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Kelly Lumadue had sex with a five-year-old boy back in 1996 while her husband, Leonard “Bud” Lumadue, a professional pornographer, filmed the whole thing. After he died, Ms. Lumadue threw the videos with their “special moments” out onto the curb for trash collection. A garbage collector saw the tapes and took them home. Once he saw what was on them, he turned all that nice video evidence in to the police. Evangelist's compound raided in child porn case
"FBI agents and state police raided an evangelist's headquarters Saturday as part of a child pornography investigation and said they planned to remove several children from the complex, run by a man previously accused of child abuse.
The raid at the Tony Alamo Christian Ministries south of Texarkana started an hour before sunset. Armed guards regularly patrol the ministry headquarters, but there was apparently no resistance as agents moved in.
"I have not heard of any shots fired," State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said.
U.S. Attorney Bob Balfe said before the raid that he expected an arrest warrant to be issued for Alamo. It wasn't known whether he was present during the raid.
Shortly after the raid began, a sport-utility vehicle hauling a trailer backed up to the ministry building's front door. FBI vehicles blocked off a dead-end road.
A Fouke School District bus also pulled up near 12 unmarked vans, SUVs and sedans parked alongside the low-slung ministry headquarters along U.S. 71 just inside the city limits of tiny Fouke.
Sadler said a search would be conducted at the compound headquarters and at Alamo's home nearby.
A helicopter circled, and onlookers stopped along the two-lane highway to watch the raid.
Alamo's church is in a single-story building that looks like a strip mall. A white cross stands atop the structure, with a small steeple to the right side.
Alamo was once accused in California of directing the beating of a church member's 11-year-old son. In 1994, he was sentenced to six years in prison on tax evasion charges filed in Memphis, Tennessee."

The former partner of Shannon Matthews' mother has been sentenced to 20 weeks in jail for possessing child pornography.
But Craig Meehan, 22, is expected to be released from custody imminently because he has already spent 166 days in prison on remand.
He was convicted at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court of 11 counts relating to 49 images on a computer.
Meehan left the court under police escort in an unmarked car and he has been taken to a secret location.
His computer was seized from the home he shared with Karen Matthews, on Moorside Road, Dewsbury Moor, West Yorkshire, by police searching for Shannon earlier this year.
Indecent images of children aged between four and 16 were found on one of two computers at the home where Meehan lived with Matthews, 32, for around five years. The images were graded on a scale on which one is the least serious and five the most.
Meehan was found guilty of possessing 31 images at level one, 10 at level two, two at level three and six at level four.
District Judge Jonathan Bennett told Meehan: "The damage that has been caused to the children in these photographs is unimaginable."
Police experts told the court the computer contained 653 references to "Lolita" - a term commonly used by people interested in searching for child porn.
Officers searching for Shannon, who is now 10, seized the second-hand computer the day after she went missing in February.
Meehan was subsequently charged with child pornography offences in April.

Vicar jailed for child porn charges
A vicar is behind bars after he admitted possessing more than 55,000 indecent pictures of children. The Reverend Richard Hart, 59, admitted 12 charges of making indecent images of children, four of taking indecent images and five of possessing images on his computer.
The court heard he had 44 images showing child sex abuse in the most serious Category 5 - with 52,240 in the least serious category, 2,419 in Category 2, a further 684 in Category 3 and 1,445 in Category 4. The offences dated between 1991 and 2007.
Hart is suspended from church duties and his position as chairman of governors at Beguildy Church in Wales school, where his wife Julie, 40, worked part-time.
After the case, Canon Robert Jones, the child protection officer for the Swansea and Brecon diocese of the Church in Wales, said: "We are deeply saddened and shocked that one of its clerics should plead guilty to such very serious offences involved indecent images of children. It is of particular concern that these offences should have occurred at a time when he held a very responsible and privileged position in one of our church communities." Mom Accused Of Offering 3 Children For Free Sex
Stephanie Hays, a 33-years-old Katy woman is being accused of offering to let a Missouri man have sex with three young children. She is charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of performance of a child.
Investigators say the children whom Hays offered for sex were a 2-year-old girl and two boys, ages 5 and 11. A man arrested in a separate investigation told federal investigators in Independence, Mo., about Hays, saying she had arranged for him to visit her home and engage in sex acts with the children. Hays did not want any money from the man in return.
Investigators said, "She claimed to offer them up on more than one occasion. She even took a week off of work to meet up with the individual."
Hays, 33, told investigators that she fantasized about child pornography. Police searched her home and found child pornography photos and videos on her computer. Officers said they found very graphic chat logs where Hays described to the man her sexual fantasies that included the children.
During the chat, investigators said Hays claimed to want to be part of the sex acts. She told investigators that she had considered sexually abusing her son and has tried to arouse him. Teen Accused Of Sex Crimes With Dog And Child Porn
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is accusing a teenager of having sex with his dog in an act caught on videotape, and Monday he was arrested on charges of child pornography as well.
Justin Sharp, of Palm Beach Gardens, is being held in jail on $10,000 bond. Police say he had sex with his four-year-old German Shepherd and also possibly with his 8-year-old German Shepherd, when Sharp was only 17-years-old.
Deputy Sheriff Eric Davis is deeply disturbed by the case.
"The animals can't speak, they can't call 911, this is case of a human being taking advantage of an animal that can't defend himself," said Davis.
Investigators also said in a police report Monday that they found videos on a computer belonging to the teen, who is now 18, displaying young girls performing sexual acts with grown men.
According to detectives, Sharp admitted to making the video, but said he only had one encounter with the dog. However, his mother testified that her son had sex four times with the dog. Mother and son live together in a townhouse.
Detectives said they had reason to believe an eight-year-old German Sheppard was also abused, so they took away both dogs and two cats.
Sharp's case first surfaced in April when deputies raided his home and seized computers.
Neighbors are shocked.
"I'm kind of surprised….I am very sad," said neighbor Adrian Miguenz.
On Monday he was charged with one count of cruelty to animals, two counts of promoting sexual performance by a child and seven counts of possessing photographs of sexual performance by a child.
It's not known when Sharp's mother is going to be able to post bond for her son. A county judge has permanently barred both of them from ever owning animals again. Jail sentence for 20,000 child abuse images
A 40-year-old man from Londonderry, Northern Ireland, has been jailed for 18 months after he was was found guilty of downloading about 20,000 indecent images of children from the internet.
John Llewelyn James was a part-time worker helping people with disabilities and admitted to the crime. According to the judge, he has also asked for help to fight his addiction.

Couple offered sex with 5yo daughter for an apartment, used car, child care
A San Antonio couple is accused of trying to trying to trade sex with the woman's 5-year-old daughter for an apartment, a used car and child care for her 10-month old daughter.
Jennifer Richards, 25, and her married boyfriend, Sean Michael Block, 40, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Stein Nowak on Friday. Richards is charged with using interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor. Block is charged with distributing child pornography.
The couple worked at the Cheesecake Factory at North Star Mall, where he was a bartender and she was a waitress.
Court records show that Block's now-estranged wife Sarah Block filed for a protective order earlier this week on behalf of the couple's 14-month-old child. Pennsylvania Medical Student hoped to breed sex slave society
A Pennsylvania medical student told a classmate he was trying to recruit a New Zealand woman and her 4-year-old daughter to start a society of sex slaves that would live on a farm or island, the FBI said.
The FBI said in an affidavit filed Aug. 13 that it began investigating Jeremy Noyes, 30, of Erie, after someone tipped them off about his efforts to recruit the New Zealand woman and girl to come to the United States. They said he also possessed child pornography.
The tipster, using a pseudonym, submitted a complaint on an FBI Web page in June in which she wrote, "Noyes has threatened to kill me and my family ... (and) will not rest until we are dead. All the evidence you need is in his computer and that little girl's mind. Please save her."
Investigators got warrants to search Noyes' two e-mail accounts and found "images of prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit activity," the FBI wrote in the affidavit.
Noyes was in custody Tuesday and faces a hearing before a federal magistrate in Erie on Thursday to determine whether he will remain jailed on the child pornography charges until he stands trial. He is represented by a federal public defender who declined to comment Tuesday in line with the office's policy of not speaking to the media.
The tipster's note said Noyes claimed he had been instructing the girl's mother to train the girl to perform bizarre sexual acts, to expose her to pornography and to mete out "extreme punishments such as locking her in a closet with no food for three days."
The note led the FBI to interview a woman who attended school with Noyes at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. The classmate told the FBI she had dated Noyes and acted as his sex slave.
The FBI investigation said it found women who corresponded with Noyes online and, in turn, the child-sex images in his e-mail account this month.
Noyes faces as many as 40 years in prison if he is convicted of the child pornography charges. Swim coach pleads guilty to child porn charges related to used computer he sold
The files were discovered when Brian D. Hindson, 40, of Carmel, Ind., sold an Apple iMac computer on eBay for $90 to Jackie McSwain, of the Smyre community in Gastonia in March 2006.
For a period of 10 years, Hindson hid video cameras in locker rooms at Kokomo High School, where he was the head coach of the swimming and diving teams, according to the Justice Department. He would secretly videotape teenage female swimmers while they undressed, according to the release.
The computer arrived St. Patrick's Day 2006 while McSwain was celebrating the holiday in Savannah, Ga. Her son, Micah, 23, took it out of the shipping box.

N.Y. AG pushes Comcast to block child-porn access
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- New York's attorney general notified Comcast Corp. on Monday that the state will take legal action if the company - the nation's second-largest Internet service provider - doesn't agree to eliminate access to child pornography.
Attorney General Andrew Cuomo wants major Internet access providers to agree on steps to remove certain news groups that contain child pornography and purge their servers of Web sites that contain child porn.
New York has already reached such agreements with AT&T Inc., AOL, Verizon Communications Inc., Sprint Nextel Corp. and Time Warner Cable Inc.
"Last week, Comcast joined with nearly the entire cable industry and 48 state attorneys general and the Center for Missing and Exploited Children to sign an unprecedented, and highly praised, industrywide agreement to fight child pornography," Comcast spokeswoman Sena Fitzmaurice said. "Comcast has been working with the New York attorney general and we expect to become a signatory to his agreement as well."
Cuomo was not one of the 48 attorneys general to publicly support the efforts of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association and the National Association for Missing and Exploited children, because he said it was not as tough on online child pornography as his own code of conduct.
According to Cuomo's office, the agreement that Comcast and others in the cable industry agreed to has targeted Web sites with child pornography but had weak language when it came to eliminating news groups - where illegal images can proliferate.

The jury of nine men and three women includes the wife of a Baptist preacher from Kelly's Chicago-area hometown, as well as a compliance officer for a Chicago investment firm and a man in his 60s who emigrated from then-Communist Romania nearly 40 years ago.
As they left the courtroom to deliberate, jurors took the sex tape at the center of the trial with them, and a monitor was set up in the jury room in case they wanted to review it.
Kelly is charged with 14 counts of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl, who prosecutors say was as young as 13. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison. He would also have to register as a sex offender in Illinois.
The 41-year-old superstar, who has pleaded not guilty, was charged in 2002. His trial was repeatedly delayed, once because the judge seriously injured himself falling off a ladder and another time because Kelly had emergency surgery to remove his appendix.
Jurors deliberated for three hours Thursday after listening to closing arguments.
Kelly's attorney banged on the jury box with his fist, he yelled and he whispered, he laughed and he pleaded for more than in hour in his emotion-filled closing.
At one point, Sam Adam Jr. referred to a defense argument made repeatedly during the trial that a mole on the singer's back proved he simply can't be the man in the video.
Adam walked over to the defense table and placed his hand on Kelly's shoulder.
"The truth be told, there is no mole ... that means one thing," Adam told jurors, then paused and lowered his voice. "It ain't him. And if it ain't him, you can't convict."

CHICAGO (AP) — The jury in the R. Kelly child pornography case has informed the judge that it's reached a verdict after less than a day of deliberations. Judge Vincent Gaughan is scheduled to read the verdict this afternoon.
Kelly is charged with 14 counts of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl, who prosecutors say was as young as 13. If convicted, he faces a minimum of four years in prison and a maximum of 15 years. He would also have to register as a sex offender in Illinois.
The jurors — nine men and three women — were given the case Thursday afternoon after attorneys for both sides completed their closing arguments.
