The world's lowest car?
At 19in (48cm) tall the "Flatmobile", built from a 1963 Hillman Imp with an added jet engine, has been built by Perry Watkins in Wingrave. The batmobile-inspired car took almost 18 months to build.

Blaine holds his breath for 17 minutes
The magician David Blaine has set a world record by holding his breath underwater for 17 minutes and four seconds. Blaine had been hoping to get to 23 minutes as he was suspended in a water-filled sphere on Oprah Winfrey’s television talkshow in Chicago.
The previous record of 16 minutes 32 seconds was set earlier this year in Switzerland by Peter Colat.

Colossal squid update: it has colossal eyes
Marine scientists studying the carcass of a rare colossal squid said Wednesday they had measured its eye at about 11 inches across — bigger than a dinner plate — making it the largest animal eye on Earth.
One of the squid's two eyes, with a lens as big as an orange, was found intact as the scientists examined the creature while it was slowly defrosted at New Zealand's national museum, Te Papa Tongarewa.
"It's the largest known eye in the animal kingdom," said Auckland University of Technology squid specialist Kat Bolstad, one of a team of international scientists brought in to examine the creature. He Pingping is world's shortest
A 74.6cm (2ft 6in) teenager has been crowned the world's shortest man. He Pingping, 19, has been written into Guinness World Records as the shortest man alive.

Gotta Love Those Fun Lovin' Old Folks
This is a YouTube clip that shows two of the oldest known people to ride Kings Island's Slingshot.
If you're not familiar with is ride, it is a thrill ride where two people sit in seats inside of a caged ball. The ball is pulled down by sturdy cables and then... you guessed it... slingshotted (slungshot?) several hundred feet into the air. The cage also spins a few times as it bounces up and down.
I love this. My favorite part? "Oh, that's the video... I hope they don't video tape the talk because I'll probably say things I shouldn't say." "Like 'Oh shit.'"

Miami doctor breaks new ground in cancer surgery
A doctor has rumoved an "inoperable tumor" in what has been called a groundbreaking surgery. To get to the tumor, which was buried deep in Brooke Zepp's abdomen and threatened to kill her within months, the organ transplant specialist said he first had to remove her stomach, pancreas, spleen, liver and small and large intestines.
The organs were chilled and preserved outside Zepp's body during a painstaking 15-hour operation at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
They were re-implanted in their normal position after the tumor -- which was about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter and wrapped around Zepp's aorta and the base of two other arteries -- was removed.

World record goes to Cornish 'Thresh'erman
A world record shark has been accidentally caught off the coast of Cornwall by local fishermen, Roger Nowell and Joe Crowe.
Originally fishing for squid, the thresher shark came as a bit of a shock for the fishermen as they brought in their record 1,124lb catch, which not only surprised the crew but also the ship's hydraulics which suffered over £500 of damage.
Dad-of-three Roger, 41, said: "We bought the net up. There were no squid but this massive shark - it was the biggest one I'd ever seen."
The shark was sold on to a local merchant who paid over £250 for the monster fish caught 3 miles off Lands End, he plans to sell the thresher shark to wholesalers, who will carve it up for some lucky local fish eaters.
